We stayed here for 1 night and really liked it. Traveling here is convenient. Not far from the train station. Close to shopping and restaurants The rooms are clean and fully equipped. The staff are welcoming.

Easily accessible to transport, lake Lugano 1 min walk for a lovely and relaxing stroll around lake Lugano either in early morning or late evening About 150 to 200m to the hotel from funicular stop Citta. The funicular starts from level -1 of Lugano train station near escalators (service starts at 5am+ frequency every 5 min) Lugano tourism provided complimentary transport tickets through the hotel to visit different places (bus, funicular) Coop supermarket right next to the hotel Lots of eateries and restaurants nearby The room was quiet despite being in the city center Room is a bit small but the clever interior design makes the best use of space, e.g. ward robe /toilet cabinet doors are doubled up as mirror Rooms are clean, neat and tidy No aircon but big fan inside the room. Suit us well as the temp was around 14-16C during our stay. Tap water is labelled portable! Staff are friendly and knowledgable There is buffet breakfast option for 15 euro per pax but we didnt use as we wanted to try different local foods during our stay Lift access

Need to request for electric kettle to make hot drinks. There is a step (10-12cm high) at entrance to the building which might be a hurdle for wheelchair user.

The location is awesome. Near to the lake and all facilities. Lots of shops and restaurants.Great for boat trips. This was our second visit.we had a friendly welcome and the continental breakfast was sufficient to start the day

Very closeby the tram stop in Via Nassa street. Perfect location right in the heart of the lively gastrobars and stores. Nextdoor to Coop. Receptionist was extremely helpful. Got a free room upgrade to a Suite and she even walked us to our rooms that was about 50metres away and helped with the luggage too. I would say they take their reviews seriosly and have improved based on them. Thank you very much for a pleasant stay Team San Carlo! I’d definitely come back and stay again should I ever visit Lugano.

We loved the location of this hotel and the friendliness of the staff! The staff were available to answer all of our questions. The room was cozy and clean! The location was in the heart of everything, so we could easily walk to many restaurants, the lake side, and stores.

I would have loved some simple amenities like an iron (perhaps we could have requested one) and the bed was a bit firm. That wouldn't stop us from staying again I'm sure!

the location was very convenient with access to the train and ferry terminals plus easy access to all the shopping streets in the main area. linens and bathroom were good and nice to have a full window in both bedroom and bathroom with air flow through the room. continental breakfast was nice to have before setting off for the day.

we think the desk arrangement in the room took up too much space and could be redesigned to provide more floor space with adequate desk surface. the current surface, damaged black paint, was sticky….perhaps the redesign of this area would offer another area for clothes hanging space..

The location is the main attraction. It's very close to the Lugano city centre. Very near to the Lugano lake. If you are a practising christian, the San Carlo church is next door where there is daily holy mass every day at 12.10 pm. The rooms are very comfortable. I stayed in their apartment which was exceptionally good. The staff were very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lugano.

Actually nothing.

The hotel has a great location — very close to the main square, right along the main pedestrian street, a block away from the bus and the water, and easy walking distance from pretty much anywhere you could want to go! I could even see a bit of Lake Lugano from my room! The staff were always welcoming, helpful, and kind, even when I arrived at 10:30pm.

The room looked like it could use a little bit of love. If you like to sleep in, it does get a bit loud in the morning, but that’s the trade off for the location.

Very good location near lake, city centre and funicular from the station. Friendly staff. They were helpful in obtaining non-feather pillows and bedding as my wife is asthmatic. Generally comfortable with effective ceiling fan.

The shower and toilet were either side of the door, with the sink in the bedroom which was not ideal. The decor was a bit dated and could do with a bit of updating.

The staff was really nice, the location of the hotel was perfect, the price was reasonable and the room & facilities were very clean. I recommend the Hotel San Carlo to anyone who comes to Lugano and does not wish to spend all of their money staying in a fancy hotel, but rather on sightseeing and discovering this beautiful little “big” city and its surroundings which are filled with so much life that you just might want to never leave….
