The lady receptionist was very kind and helpful. The room is humble but has everything you need; same for the breakfast. The bathrooms and showers were generally very clean, but you can tell there are inconsiderate people who make a mess and don't open windows. I really recommend putting liquid seat sanitizers next to toilettes so guests can self-clean, but in general it is above expectation in terms of shared WCs. The stairway and other common areas are also very clean. An important plus is that you get a free transport card which shortens the walk to the center.

The walls separating the two twin rooms are thin. You can hear everything from the other room which I did not expect. I brought earplugs which blocked out most noise but this is a red flag to those who are sensitive to noise.

Everything was spotless and clean. Breakfast was good, but they do paint the hard-boiled eggs for some reason, took me few days to find them. 🤣 Location is great, neat for bus stops and grocery store. 10 min walk to the station or historic downtown.

The window blinds won’t stay fully down, so there is always light in the room during the night because of a street lamp. The floor was squeaky and crackling, so I was able to hear my upper neighbour stomping their feet to the floor at midnight, because my window shade was shaking and making noise. another than this small things, it’s a good hotel to stay.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The place was immaculately clean (better than most hotels and Airbnbs I have stayed in throughout Europe). About a 10 minute walk from the train station. Walkable to all the sites. One of the most affordable places I found in Europe and it came with complimentary breakfast, free Wifi and a balcony! The only thing was it had a shared bathroom—not a problem because everything was spotless and hardly saw anyone else. Best kept secret so far for a solo traveler, especially if you are traveling on a budget.

During my stay, I opted for a single room with a balcony that was perfect for unwinding in the evenings. The room itself was simple, yet clean, and came equipped with a comfortable bed and a sink complete with a mirror. Although the bathroom/shower was shared, it was located on the same floor. As I was there for work purposes, I found the accommodations to be ideal for my needs, providing a comfortable space to rest. I must say, the ladies at the front desk were absolutely fabulous and made my stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was included in my stay, and while it was basic, it was still quite nice. I will certainly come back, as the value for the price is excellent, for a hotel located in the city center.

From my perspective, the male receptionist appeared aloof and discourteous. During a phone conversation where I sought information, he seemed disinterested. Furthermore, when I passed by him while entering or leaving the hotel, he never acknowledged or even glanced at me as he was engrossed in his phone. Bring your own soap and shampoo, as none is provided.

Location is phenomenal and the staff was very helpful. They let us borrow a hot pot and we had tea on the cutest little balcony outside our room. Lucerne is the hidden jewel of Switzerland and the hotel made the visit even more remarkable.

Everything is expensive in Switzerland and while the Alpha was the best value we could find it was still pricey. They don’t have A/C which is bearable if you leave the balcony door open overnight but be aware. Also, we had to share a bathroom with others. It was not ideal but the bathrooms are very nice and the shower and water pressure was exceptional.

Exactly as written from past reviews. You can avoid 10 to 15 min. walk take bus #1 or 2 or 14. from Main train station on the 2nd stop get off after it turns...it is 2 min walk from the bus stop. Bus system is on an honor system and dont check for tickets....Once you check into hotel you are given a bus pass if needed for time of stay Use the bus transport for anything ..effecient and on time. ALL trains etc are exact departure or arrival ..dont be late you will be left behind

Pleasant stay in a spacious room, breakfast was included. Reception is open all day which is convenient. Kettle was available on request and there was a sink in the room. Great location, about 10 mins walk from the station or 3 mins from the bus stop.

Radiator was not very warm so I was a bit cold at night. The shared bathroom was not very clean.

The room was very clean and functional, with all of the basics needed. Despite being shared with the whole floor, the bathrooms were also clean, and I never needed to wait to use them. It was located not too far from the train station and bus stop. Breakfast did not have a huge variety, but had all of the basics.

The pillows were somewhat uncomfortable, and one of the plugs was in an awkward position, since I didn't have a long enough cable.

The rooms were very clean. The people at the reception were attentive and helpful. Breakfast was very good I thought. Bathrooms are outside, taking a shower was no problem; the only downside was going to the toilet at night but then we knew that before we arrived. When I mentioned my sensitivity to noise we were given a corner room at the back. While that was close to a children’s playground it was very light and had a balcony. Walking distance to the old town was about 10 minutes. All in all it was very good value for money especially since Switzerland is a very expensive country.

Like I said the toilet was a bit far at night.. but i guess one can request a room closer to the outside bathroom.

I had originally cancelled this booking. A concert I was to attend had been postponed due to band illness. Even though it was PAST the cancellation date, the hotel DID NOT PENALIZE me for something that was out of my control. Circa 2022, that is quite amazing to me! So, we showed up a few weeks later, when the event was rescheduled and found a gem of a place. Very nice people at reception. Well put together breakfast. Nothing fancy about the place, but everything that one would need for a decent accomodation!
