Our stay at Hotel Bahnhof was truly enjoyable. The location is unbeatable—right next to the train station and within walking distance of key spots like the gondolas. The rooms are clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with beautiful views, especially the Matterhorn-facing balconies. The fully equipped kitchen is a big plus for self-catering. A special shoutout to Aggie, the receptionist, whose warm and friendly service made our stay exceptional. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the hotel offers great value for anyone visiting Zermatt.

While there is no lift available, which meant carrying our luggage up to the third floor, the hotel does provide a luggage room on the ground floor for convenience. It’s something to keep in mind, but it didn’t take away from the overall comfort and excellent experience of our stay.

First of all, I did not expect to pay a budget hostel price in a very famous ski resort in the alps. When I arrived from Paris by train, I did not have mobile internet right away but the place was so easy to find, just walk to the left when alighting the train station. The hostel structure was in quaint wood material which really gave it a swiss alps vibe. I really liked how the bunk beds/wooden pods were laid out, it was in such a way that the lower deck faced the opposite of the upper deck so there was still total privacy. My bunk bed was in the lower part and it faced the window which was awesome. The wooden pod had a large space with sockets and felt like I was sleeping inside a cocoon. I slept soundly here. The kitchen is huge and well-equipped you can literally cook any meal you want. They had individual basket trays for your items so you can store your food separately in the refrigerator without getting mixed up with the other. The hostel was near a COOP supermarket which was very well stocked. The lovely receptionist named Aggie pro-actively asked me if I wanted to switch to an all-female room because I booked the mixed room initially. I really appreciated this gesture. If there was anything to improve, maybe the bed matress can be a little bit softer? This was not a big issue and I slept soundly regardless. Overall, Hotel Bahnhof exceeded my expectations and I am literally telling all my friends about it.

Everything was perfect! Agi is very helpful. She provided every information and support during my stay. The kitchen is well equipped. Toilets are clean and always supplied with tissues, not like other hostel. Safe. An excellent location! Steps away from the station and within walking distance to all the shops and ski lifts. The beds were comfortable and had lots of counter space. Common area had a lot of seating. Most of the beds are positioned facing a wall/window which allows for some privacy. The window also has a ledge to put your stuff on and your suitcase under

On my first night I got unlucky and got the only bed that faces the room. Anyone walking into the room could see me at all times and there wasn't a convenient place to put my suitcase. Only one toilet and shower on the floor but was never crowded

It is a 1 min walk until Zermatt Bahnhof with everything near (restaurants, gornergrat, main street, market). The quadruple bedroom was pretty comfy, with good beds, linen and enough space. The kitchen is well equiped and has all you would ever need to cook anything you would want. Enough space on the refrigerator. Not really somewhere you should expect great views from the Matterhorn, but the whole city of Zermatt is walkable and has a lot of panorama views, so this hotel still is a good choice anyway!

The drain in the shower was working like 70%, so we had to take quicker showers in order to not stay in the "mini pool" that formed in bath time. Overall a good choice worth of a 9/10..

The hotel is located next to the main train station (no need for taxi or shuttle bus), one block from Gornegrat raiilway, 15 minutes walk to the Sunnegga Funicular, and out in front bus stop to the Matterhorn Express gondola. The bus stop is at the begining of the line. You can get a seat and don't need to worry about not getting on the bus especailly on a crowded blue bird day. Big chef kicthen with ample stove tops and stainless steel refrigrator. Nice view of the Mattehorn from the balcony. Helpful and kind staff.

No elevator. The stairs can be hard for some, but the views from the rooms with balconies are worth it. Got to bring your own soap and shampoo.

This place is literally across the road from the railway station, hence the name. You're literally seconds from the centre of town. You'd have to sleep inside tourist information to be closer. The accommodation is very clean, there's a large kitchen to prepare your own food and plenty of space to eat and relax. Aggie at reception was lovely. The rates are a bargain for Zermatt. There's no breakfast available, but you can make your own.

The building is tall and with no lift there can be a lot of stairs to navigate, depending on what floor you're on. The dormitories are quite cramped, no worse than most places, but bear it in mind.

Very near to the station. Fast check in and check out even there's no staff. A well-equipped kitchen that you can use.

I didn't understand how it works. The staff cleaned my bed so I need to change to another on my 2nd night. Because when I went back to the hotel, my bed had been occupied. On the next day, I didn't leave any thing left on my bed, but the staff didn't clean it, so I have to stay on the same bed and cannot change to the first one. There's no elevator and I need to carry a heavy luggage to the top floor.

This hotel was right by the train station, and a very short walk upon our arrival in Zermatt. Our room was clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the shared kitchen/living area/laundry facilities in the basement! While we rented a full room for 4 with a private bathroom, showers and toilets in the hallway were plentiful. I think the top floor of the hotel is a shared hostel-style room with bunk beds for rent. The extra showers and toilets in the hallway were very helpful to us on our last day, as we had to catch a train just before 6am, and we all wanted to use a bathroom at the same time right before leaving! The basement had wonderful cubbies with labels to put your groceries, and also labels for fridge items. The kitchen was spacious, and many tables were available! We highly recommend getting some breakfast items at the nearby Coop, and eating in the hotel basement! For affordable dinners, we loved a close by pizzeria called Bahnhofbuffet. (It was not a buffet).

I have no complaints, but we did open our windows at night, and the street outside was loud all night long! It didn’t bother me, but I want to point this out in case it bothers anyone else!

The location is outstanding, and the property is very clean and quiet. I love that there is a well stocked kitchen and space in the fridge. This becomes a friendly meeting place for guests to meet and mingle. It’s convenient that there is a ski room with lockers available for rent.

I wish the reception would be open all day. The rooms are a bit too small for eight people and the mattresses are soft. There is an annoying curtesy light with a motion detector that pops up at night if someone gets up at night. The shower needs at least some soap and free towels would be nice. The lookers in the room are convenient, but rather small.
