The staff were so wonderful and accommodating. They were so very helpful with suggestions and happy to have a chat. Made me feel right at home. The rooms are basic but comfortable, bigger then I was expecting. The restaurant was great had delish food and our server was just beyond amazing, I can't recall his name but he was originally from Greece and he was just full of positive energy and could not do enough for you with such a happy disposition. What a delightful man. A great location, literally across the road from the train station, and a coop next door. Walking distance to everything, I walked all the way down to the ski slopes (I wasn't skiing).

The bathroom had some mould and there were a few dead bugs on the bed. But it didn't detract from how we'll the staff treated us, and because of that is stay there again!

The location and staff are the best parts of this hotel. It is located right opposite of the train station of Zermatt and you won't miss it once you step out of the train station. It's very convenient to go anywhere around Zermatt. The staff are friendly and super helpful. They are providing so much information in where and how to go around Zermatt, I must stop them because I was kind of information overloading on arrival. :) I rarely ran into hotel staff have so much in-depth knowledge about its surroundings. They are super knowledgeable, helpful and nice!!!

Even though the location and staff are very nice, the hotel itself is a bit old. The carpet is worn out and the floor isn't very flat on some spots. Other than that, it's clean and conformable.

I paid an advanced purchase rate for a better yet bargain hotel fare. So far, this hotel is only few steps from Zermatt Train Station and breakfast is fine. Everything needed is within the area.

The property has already aged and outdated. The room carpet has visible stains and no air condition. I needed to open the balcony door or it can be warm in the room.

The location was great an easy trolly ride into the beautiful old town area of Bern. The staff was awesome and gave great advise on where to go and what to see. Also the pointed as to a great local restaurant for Swiss food. Had a blast.

Not their fault. We came in the summer month of July and the room was warm but no one has a/c, so we made the best of it with the windows open. They did have a small fan in the room, bonus points.

Gornergrat Dorf Hotel is an excellent, well-priced hotel that is in a perfect location for skiers and tourists alike: if you arrive by train then it's 1-minute walk from the station. The Gornergrat is right in centre of the town and is close to the ski facilities, shops, bars and supermarkets. For me it was an ideal choice. For skiers you can easily walk from the hotel to the Sunnega lift in 10 minutes or close by there is a bus stop which will take you to the Matterhorn-Express lift. This bus service is free and runs every five minutes. I booked a single room in the hotel at the end of Feb 2022. It had a small balcony and a view of the mountains. I found my room to be spacious with a large comfortable bed with a very clean duvet and pillow. The room came equipped with a small fridge and a television. It had a large wardrobe and coat hangers on the wall to put your ski jack and salopettes. The room had a en suite bathroom with shower and a deep bath. There was constant hot water for those wanting a deep soak! The room was spotlessly clean and was cleaned every day. My booking included breakfast and I thought that the hotel's offering was very generous: each day there was a large choice of items and included such things as breads, croissants, cereals, porridge and even boiled eggs. There was a selection of cheeses, jams, honey, and fruit juices. In the basement of the hotel there is a secure ski room with heated pipes to place your ski boots so they are lovely and warm when you put them on in the morning. Next to the ski room is a solarium that contains a sauna - great for relaxing after a tiring day skiing. By the side of the hotel there is also a bistro/restaurant which serves very decent, reasonably priced food. One evening I visited and had an excellent ham and egg rosti. Delicious. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. If I visit Zermatt again I would happily return to this hotel.

The wifi signal is not strong in the bedroom and I could only get it to work intermittently. But this was not a problem for me as I just used my phone's data roaming package.

The staff (receiptionist, restaurant waitress,pub waiter)are all very friendly and helpful.Especially the receiptionist,she patiently explained to me where and how to take the bus or train for my trip Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and Gornegrat.Location is great,just diagonally across the street from train station.

The hotel is really old and really need renovation.Mold in the shower room.Dirt on the carpet.Elevator is very small. Breakfast only have some breads,cheese and ham.Drink have little more variety but need to improve.

Hotel was perfect for me (solo traveler coming to Zermatt for a weekend of hiking) as location is very convenient right near the main station and Gornergrat train, the staff are really friendly and helpful, nice breakfast provided. I had a single, basic room, very clean and comfortable. I had a really nice stay and also found it quite a good value.

Only one thing - Although Wifi worked perfectly well in the lobby, it did not work inside my room which was a bit inconvenient.

Location is wonderful it's like 1 minute from the train station. The room has a peek of the Matterhorn and the room has a tub which I like.

Maybe some amenities like shampoo, and a kettle to make hot water - which I do thing it's not common in Switzerland... however, they should be available so I can at least make some tea.

Couldn`t find a better location. View from the room balcony towards Matterhorn. Very nice staff. Had minifridge in the room. Good breakfast.

Some flowers at the balcony would give a nicer aspect to the room. Renovation is required and this would give a 4 star appearance. The price was a bit big for such a basic room (171 CHF/night)

This is a very simple hotel across from the station on the main street. On my short stay, I liked the convenience of walking my bags over. My room faced the back + was very quiet. It even had a little balcony.

For the relatively low price in this pricey town, all was ok. Little things: The shower had trouble switching between spout + shower (a new head may be in order) + breakfast buffet choices were simple but sufficient. Oh - the fridge did not work....
