My partner and I were given a fully disability-accessible room in a separate building across the street from the main hotel. We hadn't realised we'd be in another building but we actually came to really appreciate it - we had our own (level access) parking and could come and go as we pleased. We also hadn't requested a disability-accessible room and didn't need to make use of its facilities, however we were so impressed that the hotel had this option. I have a loved one who is quite disabled and who could easily have stayed in this room independently. It offered low-level plug sockets, a full wet-room with no-step shower and shower seat, plus grab bars throughout the wet room and of course, level access into the building. There was also an inbuilt careline to call for assistance if needed. Anyone with accessibility needs looking for a place to stay in the area need look no further, this is an amazing resource and really impressive.

At times we found the room a little stuffy and were nervous to open the window as it opened directly onto the pavement on the ground floor, we were worried it wouldn't be secure to leave open overnight. But this was a very small issue.

We were “upgraded” to an annex/cottage a street above the property. The level of decor and cleanliness was spotless. Clearly a newer property, all amenities included, with a proper kitchen. Parking directly in front of the unit. The restaurant food and drink was high quality and inspired.

The only issue during my stay was I found my duck breast dinner a bit more cooked than I wanted and no hints of orange flavor in the sauce. Same sauce on my partner’s Venison meal, which was heavenly. The dining room manager Debbie immediately offered to comp the meal, which we refused. I had eaten more than half the meal. It was nice and polite the hotel even offered that. It was simply down to my palate expecting the sauce described on the menu.

The staff were so friendly and chatty and happy to help. Our room was on the top floor so nice and peaceful. We were able to use the shed to store our bicycles and were made to feel that it wasn't too much trouble each time we asked for the key! The hotel is ideally placed in the town and there is plenty private parking. Handy for the train station as well!

There was nothing I didn't like. We didn't eat in the hotel as we were using it as a base to visit friends so can't comment on the food on this visit.

A warm welcome from Kezzia? who showed us to our rooms and stored our bikes. Meals were good and the lads enjoyed the beer. Most definitely the best shower we had all week when cycling. I have stayed before and would stay again.

The spoons in the room were dirty and had not been cleaned. When we wanted to book breakfast when having our dinner we were told we would have to each go to the bar to have a look at the one menu. I think the look on our faces meant the waitress had a rethink. Only one tea bag in the room.

Beautiful hotel on Alness high street, free parking onsite and free wifi. The family room was large and perfect for what we needed as a family of 4, also clean. I liked the little personal touches like body wash in the bathroom and biscuits & coffee in the seating area. We ate downstairs in the restaurant, we ordered chicken fajitas, chicken tikka masala and two children’s meals. All of which was delicious. Staff so lovely and helpful.

We really struggled to sleep with the pillows supplied.

Staff were very courteous & polite. Evening meal had great selection & very quick service. The restaurant was very busy which says it all. Room was cozy & warm, I was able to open window easily to let in fresh air. Ensuite was spacious with good sized shower. Tv worked perfect, tea coffee available in room. I didn't have time for breakfast in morning as had train to catch which was a two minute walk fro hotel very convenient.

All good nothing negative.

The food was exceptional, we had dinner on the first evening which was plentiful and delicious and the breakfast was outstanding. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly and our room was great, very comfortable, more so than we had expected. The bonus of having a car park was appreciated, so all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and intend to use the hotel again for all our 'stop overs' on our way up to Orkney.

A lovely character hotel. There is a bar and a restaurant for drinks, breakfasts and evening meals. My room, though small, had everything that I needed. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was more comfortable than the one I have at home! The Station Hotel is well positioned being within two minutes easy walk of both bus stops and the local railway station. There is an Indian restaurant just over the road and there are an assortment of other cafes and takeaways within five minutes on foot. The staff were friendly and helpful. I am so glad that I stayed here on my journey north rather than in much more touristy (and expensive) Inverness.

Staff were very friendly and accomodating. The hotel was cosy and comfortable, clean, warm and a great location. Food was excellent.

It is very noisy, you can hear everything, there were kids above me, but i understand it is an old buuldig and nothing can be done about that. I wouldn't have been able to sleep had i not had ear plugs with me. But i wasn't bothered at all because i was prepared with the ear plugs.

ALL Staff were Excellent, Extremely Polite, Welcoming and interested in providing Guests with an exceptional experience. Location was excellent, with ample Parking & a very short walk to the Venue we were attending. Breakfast & Evening Dinner were extremely Large Portions of tasty high quality food at very reasonable prices, Pre-Booking advisable. Attic Room & en-suite were clean, light and of a suitable size for our requirements.

Nothing could have been any better. Note that this is a Historic Building with some rooms in the attic - This was of no personal consequence for our stay, (we were offered an alternative room if required) however anyone whom has difficulty with Stairs should request a room on the Lower floor when booking.
