Deirdre and Alasdair went above and beyond to ensure our comfort at Old Drynie House. The breakfasts were huge and catered for all tastes, the bedroom was equipped for every eventuality and the huge garden featured charming wildlife themed woodwork as well as plenty of real wildlife, including red squirrels. Our hosts also supplied face to face advice on how to spend our time, keen to ensure we made the most of our trip to a part of the country of which only the surface can be scratched in the few days we were there. We understand the owners are planning to retire, a loss to the Black Isle's tourist industry, but wish them all the best.

Can't think of anything.

Breakfast a lovely presentation and very tasty, wonderful views to enjoy. Several great outdoor spaces. Pretty floral gardens w immense trees, forest, a stroll to an ocean view. Home a mix of new and classic charm and taste. Hosts friendly and knowledgeable. Alistair prepared every morning with maps and suggestions for the day, arrangements/rez for nightly dinner handled too.

We arrived early to get a quick recommendation for lunch somewhere. Our time consuming stops were closed on our drive from previous hotel. That first interface was uncomfortable but quickly went sunny, pleasant and all was well. Again, would highly recommend, just stick w check in time stated.

The Innkeepers at The Old Drynie House --- Deidre and Alisaird were exceptionally welcoming and kind. The Inn has an old fashioned feel to it and the property is truly exceptional - filled with beautifully tended gardens and some old, HUGE, specimen trees. Deidre prepared and served a sumptuous full breakfast of your choosing each morning. Snacks, tea pot and fridge in your room. Alisaird is an amazing tour guide taking the time each day to map out our route and share his knowledge and expertise about the local attractions (and there are many). I would highly recommend this location --- it is a respite from the hustle and bustle of Inverness. A true 5* place.

Let me first mention our hosts, Deirdre and Alasdair: they do so much more than one would expect to be done for strangers like us! Starting with this amazingly good and abundant breakfast prepared and wonderfully served by Deirdre, moving to the detailed and very helpful information we got from Alasdair on what to visit in the region, continuing with the help to book restaurants, and I could continue for another hour. The rooms were very nice, the bathroom obviously recently renovated and the beds very comfortable. Definitely a 10 out of 10!

Nothing to mention here. We appreciated all of it, everything was perfect.

The location was outstanding. Our hosts Alasdair and Dreisdre were amazing. They took care of all the details and even the little stuff like each of our individual preferences for breakfast!! Alasdair even printed and gave us a detailed itinerary and map for places to visit including the "secret" ones that are not part of the tourist traffic! My wife Monika liked a beautiful artefact in their house and Dreisdre actually gifted it to her!! This goes beyond anything that we could imagine. Our twin boys Jai and Veer also loved the place and fell in love with Scotland. We will come there again and again.

The family suite was very large and made us all feel home. The bathroom was also very large and modern. Tea, snacks and water were provided daily as well as a "Just in case box" that proved to be useful. Breakfast was incredible! Very generous portions of high quality food and fresh fruits were served in a beautiful room by our host Deirdre. Alistair was extremely funny and gave us great pointers every morning regarding the attractions to see and roads to take. Our 3 night stay was perfect. There were clear signs to tell us where to go as soon as we got off the highway.

Nothing! The only challenge was the single road that takes us to the house. Easy when you're alone, and a bit challenging when you meet other cars.

quiet location ! excellent in cleanliness ! host and hostess so welcoming ! we were cold and wet from the Highland Games and we’re welcomed in with hot tea and cookies !

understandable to leave between 10 Am and 4 pm but we had early reservations for dinner and explained we needed to come back to shower and change . rules are rules . and of course we were able to change and get ready . ! seemed awkward to ask tho ! Deirdre was fine with it . also we were allowed to use the snooker room which was fun . we took our drinks and played a few games and tidying up and we’re quiet . this B& B is extremely clean and if you want to meet with Mr Alister you will get great directions to lots of the area to explore . If you have other plans you can decline .

The property is situated in the most beautiful surroundings. It is very quiet and peaceful and our hosts were extremely helpful and hospitable. The breakfasts had a great variety , were delicious and the portions enough to laat you the day. The room is a good size with everything you need. We received fresh bottles of water every day and fresh milk for coffee and tea in the room.

We had booked a prearranged a tour and did not have our own transport. Because the property is amongst the beautiful forests it is preferable to have your own transport as Inverness is not within walking distance

The Old Drynie House is such a charming mansion, with so attractive a view of the Moray Firth glittering beyond its perfectly cured lawn and its majestic trees, that it would constitute a worthy destination in its own right. The house is warm, welcoming, perfectly equipped, immaculate. Deirdre and Alasdair were kind, friendly, thoughtful hosts. They gave us plenty of helpful advice and made us feel at home. It was a privilege to meet them.

This is a gorgeous property on the black isle right across the water from Inverness. You look out towards Inverness from the house. The owners have done a fantastic job building the house and gardens and live there year round. You are greeted with tea and conversation including helpful hints about locations to visit, restaurants to eat at, and historical lore. We loved it.

Nothing. Would stay again .
