A friendly feel generated by a great group of staff

Two minor points at the risk of appearing ‘picky’- - the car park at the rear was difficult to manoeuvre in and could accommodate the number of cars - however it was Sunday afternoon when we arrived with a lot of non residents using it to enjoy Sunday lunch - so this couldn’t be avoided at busy times. - the make of T bags in rooms appeared to be made of a very eco-unfriendly material but also contained very little tea ! A minor point but one which would be easy to rectify. These comments only submitted as helpful feedback!

Amazing stay for a one day business trip, the whole place, atmosphere, surroundings, value was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to assist and engage with everyone, Uber friendly and helpful. The hotel, bar, restaurant is amazing and the food is simply gorgeous. Highly recommend the continental breakfast, simply gorgeous!! The home made granola, just wow !! 😋😋 My room was labelled on booking.com as a "small double" I would love to see the size of a large double as the room I had was huge! Fresh coffee pods, tea, biscuits, still and sparkling water all available in my room with the added delight of the in room DAB radio playing when I checked in. 😍 Massive powerful shower and the added necessity of a large cooling fan (very much needed and appreciated) The bed was really comfy, a million pillows and cushions but all added to the aesthetics of the room. Would highly recommend for a one night or full week stay,

Lovely hotel, all brand new, and spotlessly clean. The rooms were decorated very well, with great tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was very powerful. The bed was a little firm for my liking but comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty and served quickly, and the staff were very attentive. Great location in the village, and car parking was safe and secure.

We had two rooms in the hotel, as I was travelling with my mother. She made a comment about there was nowhere to place personal items in the bathroom, i.e, no shelf, so she had to use the toilet cistern, and the bathroom mirror was too high (ok if you were 6ft plus). No other issues. Would recommend, and we would stay again.

The George only reopened in mid June 24 after suffering severe flooding from Storm Babet, so the hotel is spotless, well appointed and very comfortable. The staff were excellent, very helpful and accommodating. Lovely patio area at the back of the hotel. We were blessed with fantastic weather, so had an excellent breakfast outside in the morning. Room was beautifully decorated, Nespresso coffee machine, made excellent coffee and bed was incredibly comfy! Would definitely stay again

We had a room at the back of the hotel so there was a little noise going into the evening and early morning but that is to be expected when staying in a hotel of this kind. Room was a little on the warm side, but there was a fan in the room, and our trip co-incided with gorgeous weather, so we shouldn't grumble! The breakfast was excellent, although I was a little disappointed with the risotto for the evening meal.

Very friendly staff, Excellent food all quality produce, bed very comfortable and spacious room, nice toiletries and pod coffee machine.

Car park is a problem .. there isn’t enough spaces!! We arrived for a 2 nights stay and couldn’t park anywhere, it seems that they are not prioritising paying guests . We booked a superior room as it was a Christmas present to us both hoping to have a nice armchair in the room but got a small child’s chair that you couldn’t sit in.. slightly disappointed with this !!

This is a true hidden gem .. we stayed to meet up with friends after Christmas for dinner and was blown away by the hotel . Everything from the decor to the service was amazing . Lots of little personal touches made the stay memorable.. will definitely be back

Beautiful hotel, in really good condition. The room was clean, stylish and comfortable...and smelled absolutely wonderful. Plenty of towels available and lovely, quality toiletries. Food was great and staff were friendly and efficient. Would recommend and will stay again!

My fault for not reading the welcome letter in the room to realise, but you need a code to get out of the carpark- which caused me a bit of a delay getting out on a sunrise trip...but was helped by the chef, who was in early to prep for breakfast.

Stunning newly refurbished hotel, the decor sings as does the warm welcome from the staff. A lovely place that was in full swing for father’s day when i arrived. The staff were on point and accommodating where they could be a so a bath and extra sparkling water were made available. Amazing! I stayed inn2 different rooms and was treated to luxury in both. The little touches of the radio on for my arrival was nice. Breakfast was delicious and the bar well stocked!

Tricky to get internet reception in superior room. Could do with own booster. That’s it really. Amazing hotel.

Excellent facilities since recent refurbishment, the room and ensuite bathroom were top notch. Staff friendly and helpful, great bar and atmosphere including the evening. Lots of friendly locals and tourists all having a great time.

Slightly slow to be served at breakfast and the porridge was OK but not delicious. Other people's full English looked great but I was trying to be healthy. Expensive for a single traveller.

Lovely warm and comfortable venue close to both Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House Christmas Markets. We were very impressed by the friendly and helpful staff especially Beth on Reception who is delightful. We loved the interior design touches in our bedrooms especially the colour choices soft furnishings and carefully selected prints and pieces of furniture. We all had a lovely evening meal and a lovely breakfast We would definitely return to explore the area more. Thank you for a lovely stay!
