Good value.. Excellent buffet breakfast - Huge choice of items - traditional, continental or mix and match. Free parking close by, friendly staff. Plenty of towels and supplies, able to control radiators, and open windows too. Free Wifi strong and fast enough to stream Netflix, etc.. Outside congestion zone. We approached on M5 from Gloucestershire, then A38 (Be aware mainly 30 mph and several speed cameras!), but no congestion charges. Didn't try the bar or restaurant, but good choice of food on menu. On A38 Black Horse is excellent and huge Wetherspoons, about 2 miles from destination.

No real complaints - Room had been updated, the bathroom did show signs of wear - But it all worked, and plenty of hot water, not an issue. While I was there, further renovations were taking place within the building. Lift was out of order, but was told that at time of booking, and there aren't many floors if you have to use the stairs.

Very quiet even though if its just off a fairly busy road, definitely a bit outdated but clean and has everything you might need. Shower has amazing water pressure too! I also like the fact that entrance to the building is locked so you have an extra key with your room key to enter - feels safer since you're not on the main site with staff around all the time.

My 'double' bed was two single beds pushed together with a double sheet and duvet over the top which made it very uncomfortable any time I moved in the night and ended up near the middle. Lift wasn't working so 2 flights of stairs to get to my room.

The Peter Scott Hotel is managed together with the more modern Edgbaston Park Hotel (EPH) just on the opposite side of the road. This means, they share the same reception desk, and guests will need to go to EPH first to get the keys. All other facilities such as bar and restaurant are also located at EPH. This is just the way they manage, and the instructions are clear on Booking. I have no issues with it, and some of the comments who dislike this are unfair.

Some of the facilities can be slightly old and outdated (especially the shower), and some repairment or refurbishment is needed.

Location is handy for the university, price is excellent. Room was dated but mostly looked very clean- except that the small shower cubicle had quite a few hairs stuck to the tiles- I suspect the cleaner tries to clean the cubicle whilst outside it. This is useful accommodation that doesn’t break the bank. I liked the long bench for working, TV was good, lighting options were good, plenty tea and coffee, natural light and opening windows, fluffy white towels. A basic but serviceable room for an overnight stay.

The room actually smelled odd when I got there, like someone had left food in it for a long time or even cooked in there, so I left the windows open and propped the door open a while. Bed felt old and wasn’t especially comfy (2 singles joined). The location, whilst being great for daytime access to the university is terrible for evening cafes/food options. I would have also liked a message the day before reminding me to check in at the other hotel. I checked, and I did get one a month ago but as someone who travels often that’s way too soon.

The location was perfect for a meeting close the university. The room on the second floor was quiet and had a calming view, although the decoration and carpet were a little tired. The bed was excellent: I slept better than at home. Breakfast was included and had better range, quality and quantity than most hotel breakfasts I have eaten in the last couple of years. Staff were always friendly and helpful. It is worth remembering that free parking, check-in and breakfast are all at Edgbaston Park Hotel, a couple of minutes' walk away over Edgbaston Park Road. It's not far, but it's worth leaving a little extra time.

The only negative was that the room decoration and carpet were tired.

The bed was really comfy but I always need a really soft pillow because of an ear problem, so it's not the fault of the hotel as I'm pretty sure the pillows would have been fine for most. The buffet breakfast was absolutely delicious and all staff were so lovely. The restaurant is clean and there's lots of space. You can even request eggs made your way, if they are not out, such as poached. Peter Scott House is situated across the road from the restaurant which is in the sister hotel but it is such a nice 2 minutes walk through a leafy pathway with squirrels and birds about. Also Peter Scott house is a nice, peaceful place to stay and is on the grounds of a gorgeous old house with immaculate lawns and flowers. We had a lovely view from the window.

The room was really warm, however, there is a table fan and I suggest having it on at least no. 2 with the window open. The shower cubicle was small but adequate. Overall the room was quite small but manageable because we only slept and showered in it.

The room exceeded our expectations for a budget hotel room, a quiet location just across the road from the main hotel, where we had attended a friend's wedding.. The room was clean with tea and coffee making facilities with two chairs for us to enjoy our morning drinks before heading back across the road to pick up our car in the free carpark . Well done everyone for an excellent weekend.

The only niggles we had were that there were only three tea bags provided for two of us to enjoy a cuppa before turning in at night and on waking the following morning. The milk sachets don't hold a lot either, so a few more would have been appreciated.

After booking, I received accurate information regarding checking in (this is done in another location) and parking. The staff at the reception was nice and friendly. The location of the room was convenient, I was coming for work and the location was close to the hospital, which is what I needed. There isn't much around it though (no restaurants or shops). The room had everything that was needed and it was good value for money.

The bed was not super comfortable and the window had a small draft, so it was slightly noisy. It was ok for one night though.

The staff were professional, helpful, and friendly. they went out of their way to resolve a problem that I brought to their attention. The meals were great had Seabass and it was cooked perfectly, the breakfast the next day was really good, self-service so you could have as little or less than you wanted. I was attending a charity ball, and the room, entertainment, and staff service was excellent.

I would never stay at Peter Scott House again. It's isolated from the main hotel across a busy road. Being a solo/disabled lady, I felt insecure coming back to the hotel at night. The beds are twin beds pushed together, and move about whilst you're sleeping, this however was resolved when I talked to reception. The housekeeper in charge was totally understanding and solved the problem straight away.

Great place for visiting Birmingham University. Peter Scott House does this well. Room furnishings good, bathroom ok, bed comfortable, kettle and ironing board a great addition. Parked in the main hotel 2 mins walk which was free of charge for 24 hours - just type in reg at the check in - great bar food ( a little expensive ) and breakfast which was included in the price was amazing - all you can eat smoked salmon and scrambled eggs plus cooked breakfast - but you could have cereal, continental , fresh fruit etc . Staff really friendly. Will stay again.

Children in the accommodation - did not bother us but somewhere I read no children in booking.com policy
