Location excellent. The cleaning staff on the 6th floor were very polite with always a smile. Thank you to the cleaning team. When we came back from little walk we found our room clean and tidy. Which really surprised us.

Car park is under the hotel and very tight in places, so be warned. No lift to reception so either carry luggage up stairs or drop off first. Iron is tricky to use . The corridors to the room looked dirty and old.

Reception staff were very helpful, with advice about getting to the cricket ground, nearby restaurants and booking a taxi. The room was clean and comfortable. The bar had a lovely atmosphere, and both my 13yo son and I were made to feel welcome. Breakfast was good, and the fact that my son's was free made it feel better value for money. Ours was a last minute booking when another hotel locally cancelled our reservation at 72hrs notice - we feel this was a blessing in disguise as this hotel was much better than the one we'd originally booked!

The location was not as close to the cricket ground as the Booking.com listing had implied. Also, Broad Street is incredibly busy on a Saturday night, with noise from people on the street and car engines/horns continuing until about 3am. Needed the windows open due to the heat, but had to close them because of the noise (which we could still hear). In the hotel itself, some of the other guests on our floor were not particularly considerate, with lots of shouting in the corridor and banging of room doors into the early hours of the morning. So although the bed and sofa bed were very comfortable, neither of us slept for more than a couple of hours.

The reception and bar area are beautiful and smelt lovely. Staff are extremely helpful and polite. We asked for a fan for the room and staff brought one straight away. Food Is really nice and reasonably priced. Very clean and tidy. Extras in the room were really good, robes, coffee machine, Fridge, water, shaving kit, comb etc ( executive room)

I hate to be negative as we had a lovely stay over all. The bedrooms didn't match the standard of the rest of the hotel. They need some updating. No USB ports. Only 1 plug by the bed ( which didn't work in our room) One plug by the mirror didn't work. The bed was far to firm for my liking. (Personal preference)

Stayed for a concert at the Utilita Arena. Ideal location, as it is a short walk away. Had a warm welcome when checking in, Nan was very helpful and very informative about everything that was available, and in giving directions from the hotel to the arena. And I arrived a little bit early for check-in, but that was not a problem to remedy. Thank you, Nan :) The room was perfect, no noise from outside could be heard, bed was comfortable, room was very clean and had the biggest TV I have ever seen when staying at a hotel! Hotel has a nice bar area, where I used my voucher for a free drink. It has a good choice of food available until late at night and a snack menu for any late night munchies, which can be ordered through room service for a charge. All in all, a very positive first impression of this hotel. I will definitely book again!

It can be a little noisy in the mornings and late at night, with guests coming and going, but I can't really blame the hotel for that.

Welcoming staff member. Another was on reception who did not acknowledge us. When challenged he said he was busy!

The sofa bed had an extended bar at the bottom that I banged my left leg on when I walked away from the window. My friend did the same. It left me with a bruise on my left leg. My friend covered it up with a blanket to prevent any further harm. The extra layer of security in using lifts is excellent ie presenting the room key against the security pad. However, this was clearly explained in reception because some of the instructions were delivered in a robotic and speedy manner.

Staff were extremely warm and welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very well presented. Very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The facilities were excellent. The reception areas smelt lovely and fresh. Location was perfect for the event we were attending at Villa Park. Dining room staff were also very pleasant and there was plenty of choice for breakfast.

Two major events were taking place in the city, so although it was to be expected, the extreme noise from the main road and revellers through the night, was relentless. I realise it is beyond the control of the hotel. It didn't quieten down until around 5am. We were on the 2nd floor towards the back of the hotel. The room was very hot, air conditioning would have been a welcome relief. The fridge didn't work very well. The cooked breakfast, again plenty of choice, but not particularly flavoursome.

The building seemed to be old but the design of the room was very well considered and not only hadn't become out of time but I think it had timeless value. The room had a door inside and was able to separate the small corridor from the bedroom. In the corridor section it had the closet, safety box, fridge, etc. on one side and the toilet on the other side, which means no sound from the toilet will reach the bed section if the door was closed. The bathroom without the toilet was spacious and clean, with a broad space to put on your cosmetics when you need to make up, and clothes when you take a bath. Windows were able to open a little to bring in fresh air. Desk also big enough to place your lap top or whatever. All the equipments expected to the hotels these days were there and also those expected in old hotels, like inside phone, were there too. My expectaion was not high because of the not impressive appearance of the old lobby, so I was even more impressed by the comfortable stay I actually had. Recommended for the Japanese customers.

I want to give a huge shout out to Nan and Ionut who really made our stay super enjoyable. Nan offered us an early check in and ALSO late check out as it was my friends birthday. We were also offered a complimentary breakfast and had a little treat delivered to our room too and even an uprgrade The stay itself was really enjoyable. The room was lovely, the toiletries were from Ritual (which I love) and the bed was comfortable. The location is perfect as it is a 1 minute walk away from Brindley Place where there are several restaurants and bars. The breakfast in the morning was fabulous with alot of variety and they even had a pancake machine, which was fantastic. I would DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again

Bed was clean and comfortable, plenty of complimentary products in the room, all staff very helpful esp Nan at reception she went above and beyond to help and the breakfast staff were also fabulous, cleaner was polite in the hall .. outstanding stay would stay again. Breakfast was lovely cooked well and lots of choice, hotel is very central clean and smells lovely all staff working were polite and helpful credit to the company.

The water drainage in the room was slow in the shower, sink and bath, no toilet brush in the toilet. Room requires a fan or air con as became very humid windows don’t open wide to allow air flow and lots of noise from the main road but that can’t be helped I guess being near such lively bars and pubs.
