We came here for a family break just after moving house and fending off a slew of tuition fees for our older children, so there was a big emphasis on managing a budget well. I have to say we had a really wonderful time here, for a third or fourth time now, and I think most bad reviews may be wide of the mark or have mismatched expectations. Taking everything into account this was a really nice stay. It's also a stone's throw from the seafront, a convenient Wetherspoon's and the Sandcastle indoor water park. There is an excellent multitude of pubs, takeaways and chippies so on a high or low budget you can eat well. This place is simple and affordable with a superb location. Now there is no doubt the decor looks Tired and the place is SPARTAN with old chipped furniture, faded decor and rough but passable fittings. I get that and also how it might throw people However firstly this place clearly goes out of its way to give an affordable well-located option which is accessible to people, where circumstances might otherwise mean they can't visit Blackpool. It is also OLD AND TIRED BUT COMFY & TOTALLY CLEAN, no mould or anything, bed was comfy and had an excellent hot shower. The managers, reachable by phone, simply could not be more helpful and gave us a generously late checkout for a very modest price. Many shortcomings commented on by others must be seen in this context. Even though things are much better now, I will still embrace the quirks of the Golden Roomz and be pleased to return there soon!

No complaints. Again you sort of have to step back and take this place in context. It's got tired and outdated fittings and decor but fit for purpose, plus it has always been clean in my experience. The approach is 'we keep it basic but welcoming and clean so the cost doesn't put it out of reach'. If you want fancy stuff, go elsewhere Although the shower was old and battered and the grouting looked a bit rough I did have a perfectly hot shower every day. Incidentally as we were leaving, a family was arriving in from the East Coast saying all the self same things we did about the place and the welcome!

Now in beginning it's important to spell out that this place is VERY SIMPLE AND SPARTAN. Door and hinges might creak, fittings might be old and mismatched - the furniture in your room may resemble a bunch of chipped cast-offs from an IKEA fire sale. I say this to manage expectations, but please read on dear reader, and carefully. To focus on this stuff misses the essentials of what makes this a lovely place to stay. We had a great time here It is most importantly warm and clean, pleasant and safe and comfy - and superbly affordable in these days of challenging budgets when a family break might not otherwise be possible, we were cosy and comfortable throughout. However number one thing it is HUGELY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING and the owners simply cannot do enough to be accommodating and helpful - it oozes from every pore that they want you safe, happy and comfortable, and are full of good advice on eating and entertainment options close by this well-located site. The downstairs games room is inviting and pleasant and where all sorts of people - visitors, contractors, holidaying couples and families - all become friends. Again, though very simple, it's warm and nice and clean, and I cannot remember a place where the owners do so much to help you, where a positive and friendly ambience is created between all residents and staff. Everything is 'yes you can' or 'how do we get around that' not 'computer says no' etc. They were immensely helpful and flexible when I requested a late check-out, and it avoided so much awkward lugging bags around. My family was so pleased they actually requested another night and an early train the following day.

I have no complaints whatsoever. Again folks manage your expectations and bear in mind it is SPARTAN AND SIMPLE BUT WARM AND CLEAN PLUS VERY FRIENDLY. Extra blankets, extra pillow, no worries, let me see if there's a spare in our flat etc. This place is also well located for Blackpool South Station, Tram and Bus services, The Velvet Coaster Wetherspoons, The Sandcastle Water Playpark, numerous convenience stores and affordable Fish & Chip or kebab outlets just round the corner (ie stuff kids will eat with no complaints). Get your head around the lack of bells and whistles, and you will find it a welcoming home from home. We will be sure to come back.

It was close to the beach, and close to the amenities we required! Cute and cosy inside, felt very homely. We also let the owners know it was my daughter’s birthday weekend trip and they went above and beyond to make it extra special for her! There were birthday banners, a card and 4 presents for my daughter upon arrival and she was over the moon!! My eldest said she wants to come here for her birthday and I absolutely agree! Nicest hotel we’ve stayed in purely due to the kindness and warmth the staff present you with. 10/10!! You won’t get such a welcome from any village hotel or premier in, I can say that for sure!

The bedroom was on the top floor which I struggled with due to fibromyalgia but the staff wasn’t to know so not really bothered about that. So in that sense there’s absolutely nothing I didn’t like :).

The staff at the b@b went above and beyond to make are stay amazing from the minute we got thear breakfast was amazing value and was luch it was my sons 18th whilst I was thear and thay made it that littel bit more special for him with i was so greatfull I feel like it's the best place I have stayed in Blackpool and to the point I booked for next year before even leaving and can not whate to go back what a amazing stay I will forever be greatfull for how much thay did for us and my son on his 18th ❤️❤️

The hotel was lovely there bar and pool room for the kids or family to chill are bus was delayed and got there late when we got there he upgraded us. To the family room for free what was bonus the owner was fantastic we didn’t have cash and he let me pay the next day and also gave us rest of bottle of vodka for £10 thou we all got more then double shots amazing defo use again!! It was clean yes basic but we was only there to sleep

Me and my wife just finished a 4 day stay and I wanted to give credit to the new managers when we arrived into a very cosy lounge we was welcomed and showed to our room and the young man was very pleasant and helpful explained how to work the shower tv etc the room was clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay the managers are very chatty bubbly people and always spoke when ever our paths crossed and was very helpful on recommending best place to eat drink etc even though he did say not been there long so didn't fully know everywhere we will definitely be booking again in the near future

The only thing I didn't like was the seagulls at 6 in the morning but hey we was in Blackpool nothing the hotel or managers could do about that

The staff was incredibly friendly me and my son felt right at home. Rooms were lovely and beyond what we expected for such a good deal. It's located basically on the sea front of balckpool just a street away so you get a good night's rest and then a hop n a skip away lol to enjoy the many fun things Blackpool has to offer. Will definitely be coming back here.

I’ve stayed in many bnb’s and can honestly say this was the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in. Bedding was so clean and soft also, Staff were so friendly and helpful. even gave us a free upgrade to a room more suited to my needs. plenty of toiletries and towels available. out of all the hotels I’ve stayed in blackpool this will be the one we will return too simply for comfort, location, friendly staff and easy booking in process. They even let us store our luggage there whilst out for the day. thank you for having us!

only negative was the heating didn’t come on, we were in a top floor room though. I didn’t ask about it: but didn’t spoil our stay.

I was well looked after and enjoyed my stay, very welcomed and was the most peace I had staying in the area!

Didnt need anything extra or expect it for the price I paid. They are old buildings so you have to expect wear and tear, even if any issues appear management are more than helpful with anything needed.
