Spacious room, ideal for wheelchair user and family

Fire doors slamming 6/7 times each and every night. This kept us awake and literally jolted our bed every time. Need some stick on foam strip to quieten them down? Lack of WiFi was a real problem, we were visiting family and, because we arrived by coach, we couldn’t get important messages to confirm collection times etc. We had to go 10 mins walk to get a signal most days before we could contact anybody. This was frustrating as, husband being wheelchair user, we needed to be contactable at all times and most days this wasn’t possible.

Swift booking online and check-in, which was most welcome after a busy day of work and travelling – there was excellent communication with staff prior arrival too. Nice to see guests with accessibility needs had been catered for too around the entrance areas. The double bed in the spacious room was comfy, had 4 plush pillows, 2 quality cushions and a lovely duvet with spare blanket. The room and en-suite were immaculately clean (as were the shared areas at The President. Plenty of refreshment accoutrements e.g. brew facilities etc. were available - the TV and WiFi worked as expected. The room was clement, and I was provided with a small heater just in case – after all, this is a large hotel with circa 65 en-suite rooms and it must be quite the juggling act to serve all guests with individual and varying needs and expectations. All staff worked for the benefit of staying guests as a professional homogenous unit – nothing seemed too much for anyone. All you need to do is ask! The location is excellent – everything is within a short walk – the beach, shops, restaurants, takeaways, tramline (£6 day pass can take you all the way to Fleetwood and back!), pubs, local attractions and the bus and train station. I heard no noise at all apart from the seagulls, the odd passing tram and the sea. Although I did not dine, the eateries looked busy and reasonably priced. The bar was open, yet I was meeting friends in Blackpool centre with friends, so didn’t sample any food. This is a great quality hotel at a good value price. I’ve stayed at similarly priced establishments in the area, including The Norbreck (which is looking very tired, the staff do not go above and beyond and is going to the dogs, as many do in this town). The next time I visit Blackpool, I’ll return to The President Hotel. Fully recommended.

Returning home.

Room clean , friendly staff , first room we were given had no plug sockets near the bed which I need due to medical conditions and treatment so we were upgraded to a bigger fresher looking room with sofa bed, walk in closet , bathroom and amazing sea views. Comfortable and quiet . Had a relaxing overnight stay wirh a tasty breakfast served by the amazing Ian.

I wanted to purchase a blown glass item for a present for my daughter from one of the display cabinets but the receptionist couldn't find the keys as they weren't in the usual place he said , which was a bit disappointing .

Our room was a comfortable and spacious family room with sea view. We added dinner and breakfast when we arrived. Dinner was on the whole fine, just the roly poly was dry. The breakfast was really good. Fortunately we managed to get parked ok. The entertainment was good and a bonus. If you are thinking of going to the Britannia on the north shore, come here instead.

There was enough plug sockets in the family room. It has one double socket for everything. Tv, kettle, lamp for the room itself, but as a family with mobile phones, this wasn’t adequate. The shower in 208 requires bleaching on the tile grout. The was a drain smell in the bathroom but didn’t seem to be as noticeable after the first shower.

1.Hotel is located in a quieter part of Blackpool, which means there's no loud music to keep you up at night. 2.The view from the room is amazing! 3. The tram stop is right outside of the hotel, which is very convenient ( keep in mind there's nothing around the hotel to buy food from, so you need to take a good 15 min walk to any shop)

1. Extremely basic room, in need of renovation. 2. Hot water in the shower takes about 10 minutes to actually get warm. 3. Our room had a kettle and cups , but no coffee/tea at all. Just sugar & milk, which was a bit awkward. 4. Pet friendly. It's not a bad thing, you'd say, but....not great when there are barking dogs all over the floor at 1,2, or 3 am. And the owners tend to leave them inside and go out.

The bar is 24 hours so that is a bonus although the man on the bar was on his own at night and seemed under a lot of pressure he did go out of his way

I didn’t like that breakfast was standard £9 although all you can eat my elderly Nan would not eat a lot she just wanted a bacon sandwich and asked for a child’s breakfast but was told they have a set price so we ended up going weather spoons which is only 10 minutes away apparently food was lovely but think they should offer separate items and prices for all budgets

The man with the curly hair on reception is an absolute credit to the hotel, very smart and professional even under quite alot of stress due to train strikes, many like us had booked last minute to come a day early. He also handled a very horrible possibly drunk resident very well even though she was being abusive and disrespectful to him - hats off to him for handling that situation as that woman should be ashamed how she was talking to him like that. The room was lovely, I thought it would be a dump, very comfty beds, high ceilings and the bathroom was spotless. Will definitely return.

nothing was ace.

Beautiful, clean, comfortable. The staff were lovely and helpful. Thank you very much for having us. Your facilities were great and I would very much recommend The President

One tiny thing, I couldn't get my wheelchair through the door to our room. We are only talking about an inch or so. Certainly not a complaint, just something worth noting for wheelchair users that are fully confined or those who self propel...I couldn't get my hands on my wheels going through the door.

The hotel was in a good location, it was not far from the centre of Blackpool, but it was in the North beach area, so it was in a fairly quiet location. The room itself was excellent value for money and had a sea view as well, which I didn't expect when I booked it. Also the room itself was clean and very well furnished, and was very quiet as well. The breakfasts were good as well, they were mainly self service, and there was a good selection of items available.

Most of the staff were very polite and helpful, but one staff member seemed to be a bit moody and unapproachable.
