On arrival we were met with a sign that worried us a fair bit, the parking charge sign is vauge and didn't clearly state that hotel guests have only £3 to pay, a scary £50 label was attached to the 24 hour period but once we reached the reception the clerk cleared this up for us The hotel seems rather ordinary from a distance but the moment you walk through the porch you know it's anything but ordinary The reception room is gorgeous with a wood log cabin aesthetic which leads into the bar and then restaurant area, we explored this later as we had to check in first and foremost where the clerk was lovely and pleasant. We were giving a room key, and told about the services including breakfast The room once inside was gorgeous also, more than I had expected, a hearty bed, a good selection of coffees and tea, a big TV and then a nice sofa and desk area New window views to speak of but the room itself left no desire to look outside I took a walk down the hall to get some of the complimentary milk from the vender to make myself a coffee, the other half had a hot chocolate and we then sat munching the included local biscuits and watched police chases on TV Once settled we decided to check out the pool and sauna, which is a very decent size, not too busy either, change rooms were very modern and nice (keyless lockers) After retiring back to our room me and her went for a drive into Bristol be tourists for the evening and it really wasn't a long drive at all, which reminds me the hotel itself was very accessible from the M4 in which we come from Later that night we come back for some drinks in the bar before calling it a day, at bed time we were glad of the choice of pillows to choose from as I'm a bit choosey of pillows.

The lifts were out, which isn't really a complaint from me as I usually prefer the stairs, but it is an observation

The location of the hotel was amazing, a direct bus from the city centre. The hotel itself was great and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, I would advise booking in advanced as slots are booked up quickly. In addition the hotel also offer breakfast in bed. The room was lovely, very traditional with character which is a change from the typical hotel room. Great gym with a good variety of equipment compared to most hotels i've stayed at, also the pool and spa facilitates were good. There is an option to relax outside, when the weather is nice, another perk are the free hot drinks!

The temperature in the sauna felt very warm because of this, we spent most of our time using the steam room. At times, the sauna and steam rooms were untidy i.e. glasses, cups, bits of rubbish left inside these facilities. I guess its not the hotels job to enforce rules on guests tidying up after themselves, its a shame some guests are not considerate of others in this aspect.

amazing gentleman greeted us on arrival, from start to finish this place was immaculate, the only downfall and I know this is no fault of the hotel but our first night was a prom at the venue so very loud outside and second night was a wedding also very loud as they seem to congregate out the front, but other than that we had the best time very relaxed clean and to an amazing standard! we will be returning!! special shout out to the man on reception!

we did visit the spa multiple times a day, and did notice a plaster on the floor and some sort of clip on a seat on the 2nd day and when returning the next day late afternoon they was still there in same position, which did make me believe the spa maybe doesn’t get cleaned/ mopped daily which is a little concerning. although didn’t stop us coming again

The decor was lovely. Loved the selection of teas and coffee machine. The toiletries provided were lovely. The beds were very comfortable. It was all clean. Having access to fresh milk and a water dispenser whenever we wanted was great. Although very pricey the food was fantastic. We had sandwiches in the bar for lunch and the breakfast was absolutely awesome. Great choice of gluten free options! Even though we were right by a main road we couldn’t hear it

Wasn’t impressed that our booking didn’t include the spa, although we were grateful it was only £10 extra per head, we felt it should have been made a lot clearer that it wasn’t included as we specifically chose this hotel so we could use the spa facilities.

Very welcoming and classy, we would have so loved to stay Another Night but unfortunately there were no rooms available which we were extremely disappointed about, also we were upgraded and offered The Presidential Suite which we we thrilled about but Unfortunately did not take up the offer as the Lakeside Room had doors and patio whereas the Suite did not and it was beautiful sitting out on that patio enjoying a glass of wine on our return and coffee the following morning. Would not hesitate to recommend this fabulous hotel to anyone. Carolyn Cheetham Lakeside Room 160 Stay: Friday 30th June

The ambience when you entered was very good alongside the lovely rows of beautiful flowers that greet as you walk through the entrance.

It was such a nice stay so we extended our stay from 1 night to 3 nights! A very warm atmosphere, the staff are all friendly and attentive and deliver exceptional customer service! They made our stay! The facilities are great and our newborn baby loved the use of the indoor pool too and had an amazing stay also. The house keeping team were very thoughtful listening to our requests for the room refresh each day! Loved Daisy the cow machine and the water machine AMAZING!

Couldn't fault anything! The lift was broken but was working the next 2 days!

Really friendly, amazing facilities, steam room is absolutely incredible. Clean, tidy rooms with very comfortable furniture. All members of staff are courteous and welcoming, always wanting to go that extra step to ensure you're comfortable and happy. I would say it has to be my greatest UK holiday experience in my lifetime so far. I left feeling so refreshed and recharged. Almost like I have a new body. Very impressive, I am already planning a return to stay again, for longer than a weekend.

Having to leave when my stay came to an end.

Little extras made this place great - they went to extra mile for our toddler, leaving her her own toiletries, colouring pack and even juice & a snack in the fridge! Great that we had fresh milk and fresh water in the corridor ready to fill glass containers, very sustainable and reduces waste. Fantastic tea & coffee making facilities with a coffee machine and take away cups in the room ready. We also really appreciated the White Company toiletries and super soft bath robes. Would definitely stay here again!

My daughter and I loved the location, the room, the swimming pool, steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi. We also enjoyed eating in the bar and the hotel provided us with robes and footwear. We will definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor spaces!

I didn't like the fact that when i got there the hotel charged me an additional £40 to use the spa facilities as I assumed they were included in the price. They said that the additional cost didnt show due to booking through this site however, I did converse with the hotel directly and did point this out.

Perfect for just stopping off the motor way on the way to our destination in Cornwall. The rooms and the extras ( from the white company products, ropes, beverages , quirky mugs, the kids loved the free milk machine in the hall way ) were the best I've seen in a hotel I've stayed in for a while

The room cost was very reasonable for our night stay, but I would say the food costs in the bar are a little over priced for paying hotel customers and don't probably reflect other pubs local..
