EVERYTHING! The property is central in Buckie, easy parking also 2 minute walk from bus stop if travelling by public transport from Inverness or Aberdeen. One of my windows overlooked the colourful flowers in the main square; another had a sea view. My room was spacious, beautifully decorated retaining the original features, warm, spotlessly clean, comfy bed, big ensuite with walk in shower, kettle with tea, coffee etc, telly - I brought my own load of teabags as I usually do so nice to have my preferred tea. Breakfast - a variety of cereals, fresh fruit salad, prunes and your cooked breakfast is cooked individually as to what you want and pretty speedy. Hosts are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. As a base the location easy reach of north east coastal walks, picturesque seaside villages, the Spey Whisky Trail and the Highlands.

It's perfect - nothing to add

Struan House was such a beautiful place. Very classic and traditional decorations that felt cozy and welcoming, while still feeling beautiful. I actually booked two different stays because of scheduling and got two different rooms, both of which were fantastic. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the beds are comfortable. The location is perfect since it’s right in the central square of Buckie with large windows that look out to the town, the ocean, and the flower beds below. Shoutout to Buckie Roots, the volunteer group that plants the flowers who let me join them one afternoon! The hosts are so incredibly kind, Robert and Giffy, and they truly went above and beyond to make my stay amazing, and being able to pet their dog who lives in Struan too was just another bonus. There was tea and little biscuits in the room, and Robert and Giffy made guests breakfast each morning in the dining room. Even when it rained, I was perfectly content curled up in Struan House. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be back, and I can’t recommend them enough. Thank you for everything, Robert and Giffy!

We loved everything about Struan House. From the moment we were greeted by a very friendly host who showed us to a large and beautifully decorated room with panoramic views. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable and we slept like logs. Breakfast was very good indeed and we sat at a communal table where it was lovely to interact with the other guests. The food was of very good quality and a variety on offer. It is without exception one of the very best places we have stayed and would have no hesitation in recommending the property. We only stayed for two nights and wished we could have stayed longer.

There is nothing about this property that we didn't like.

We enjoyed our stay here very much and would definitely book again! Great central location and lovely accommodation, we were welcomed very warmly by one of the staff, Catherine and she made us feel at home straight away, gave us recommendations on where to eat and she was a star! Very comfortable and clean rooms and trust me I am fussy about things like this. The whole house has lots of character as did the room we stayed in and it makes a welcome change from your bland, corporate big hotel chain. We met one of the owners in the morning, Gilly and I could have chatted to him all day, he was engaging, fun and I felt more like a friend than a stranger, he was lovely!

ok, this is a difficult one, when my husband and I went down to breakfast, one of our little dogs, howled the place down and I asked if I could have breakfast in my room, this was not a problem at all, breakfast was brought up on a lovely tray and condiments etc and the breakfast itself, traditional Scottish, all the trimmings, looked amazing but it had a lot of grease and I had to use napkins to absorb some of it,( I feel bad for saying that) but once I did this it tasted really good, it is the only thing I didn't like. Will we be back? we most certainly will! :)

Sruan House has a lovely and very welcoming host. The house is most centrally located in Buckie, next to a flowery square, the sea and one of the churches. Superb views! You can open the windows for fresh air and listen to the sealife. Importantly, it is a handy location to make daytrips to Lossiemouth, Duffus and elsewhere. The house offers a nice choice for breakfast.

Only minor points here. Sound proofing between the rooms was not perfect but this is often the case in B&Bs. The shower in one of the rooms was awkward to operate. As for breakfast, it is a good idea to inform the host well beforehand if you have special requests (days before). The style of deco was a bit much to our taste but then again tastes do differ. Struan House is certainly a place that we remember and would definitely stay again if we visit the area again.

This property was absolutely excellent. The style and elegance of the decor is to die for. The welcome was warm and genuine. The beautiful room had the best bed we have ever slept in away, so comfortable. The host just says what do you want for breakfast, no menu and out it comes while the sideboard was groaning under the number of fruits, yogurts and fruit juices provided. It is a place we aim to go back to regularly, near to family and so stylish. Positioned near to fish and chip shops, good idea when you arrive on a first night and want to eat and settled down.

We didn't find anything we didn't like, even views of the sea. We loved our stay and can't wait to go back.

Very easy to find in a colourful town centre square. The room was big, clean, and tidy. Easy car parking. Given a huge choice of things for breakfast. Nice to sit at same table as other guests, and converse. The town itself had a reasonable choice of eating places, and a big supermarket just outside, Nice view of the sea, and close to neighbouring village of Cullen.

A major problem is the web site clearly says "Upper floors accessible by elevator". There is no elevator. When owners were challenged about this they said "We have just got rid of it, and taken reference to it off the web site". In fact this is not the case, as today they are still claiming upper floors to be accessible by elevator. On cursory examination of the building I saw no evidence as to where it might have been. I would strongly suggest that if an elevator is important to you then verify this point first, and question why it is still advertised.

This grand old house is right in the central square of Buckie, but set back from the road so there is no traffic or pedestrian noise. Room was large, clean and with comfortable chairs to sit near the window. Bathroom was large and clean, though a little dark. Friendly owners. Close to the Buckie Fishing Heritage Centre - visit them!

Not directly the hotel's fault, but unfortunately we were kept awake by loud people in the next room making noise until 01:30 in the morning, It just made our stay less restful than it could have been. Otherwise, all good.

We were warmly welcomed and taken to our room. House is a delight to the eye, a well balanced, tasteful blend of modern and period and it works so well. The house is spotless, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and drinking tea from a bone china cup and sauce was a treat. We had the impression that to our hosts, this was more than a business, it is a labour of love.

There is nothing to dislike.

We ordered kippers ahead of time and we had it with a fried egg, coffee, yogurt, fruit, toast etc etc I think we could have asked for the moon!! Two places I highly recommend: pic of Duffhouse near Banff and Spey Bay sculpture and amazing cafe desserts!! Beautiful day. 20 above. Fish Fry for more chips and fish and McDuff Harbour got pic for my watercolour inspiration, Elgin to Johnson’s Woolens factory 1797 did tour well worth 7.50 pounds.

Fan in bedroom as we had a heat wave that weekend and it would’ve helped the room to be more comfortable
