The room was clean and tidy The breakfasts were good The spa was excellent What made our break were the staff - they were so friendly, especially the "Mother" of the group who was retiring soon and Paul the Scouse Bar Man - they should both get a raise.

The room was clean and tidy - though does need updating - the sealant in the bathroom was black and leaving stains. Also if the room is being cleaned and refreshed on a daily basis then any empty glasses / bottles should be taken away and hot drink cups should be replaced or cleaned.

We stayed for three nights in a classic twin room. The room was extremely spacious and the beds very comfortable. We found the staff to be exceptional. They were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was good although some bread rolls as well as toast would have been good. The spa facilities and treatments were excellent and very good value.

The room needed a little more attention to detail as it was a bit dusty and cobwebby.and the floorboards above us were very creaky and loud. The bar wasn't well attended so there wasn't much atmosphere in the evening. It's best to go.out to eat I would say if you want a lively time. Otherwise everything else was great and brilliant value.

The location was great! Me and my husband stayed in a superior room and it was a really large space which was nice to spread out and relax in! Breakfast was lovely, good choice and staff very polite. Pool and facilities were lovely. Only downside is the ladies toilet needed a good clean. There was tissues and clothing tags in the sink so unsure how regularly this gets checked? But all of the other facilities were lovely! Staff were super friendly and helpful and our stay was lovely. Nice little find as a last minute booking.

I’m not sure if the hotel is short staffed but we were told breakfast was fully booked so could only go down between 7.30-8am on the Sunday but we only saw one other couple as we were leaving at 8.15 after eating. Same for the evening meal that night. We asked to book for dinner but were told it was full and then later that evening after we’d eaten at the bar there were a lot of empty tables. Could be due to staff shortage maybe?

All the food was very good and the Restaurant staff were very attentive. Room was well laid out and spacious. Spa facilities were good, wife had a massage and was looked after very well. Location was great as only 10 mins drive to Chester.

Room service in terms of cleaning and replacing things was very disappointing - in the 3 days the only thing they did was empty the small bins once, towels when left in shower were not replaced nor was bottled water replaced. Restaurant evening meal was from a limited menu. Although a large bed base, had two mattresses side by side.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are large, comfortable and finished to a high standard. Breakfast is really good, the choice is huge, whether you like the continental option or the full English option.

The only issue I have with the hotel is the fact that there was mould on the bathroom wall tiles and around the bath. There was also green algae inside the shower screen seal. The bathroom was gorgeous and spacious but I really thought that the mould was unsightly and made it look dirty, even though I'm sure it wasn't.

Lovely big clean room with a balcony, brilliant choice of breakfast. It was nice to see man (I should have asked his name) in charge of the breakfast area, dressed in a very smart suit, taking pride in his work, ensuring ɓreakfast area clean, food topped up, and very approachable and pleasant to speak to, such a passionate person 😁. The hotel was a perfect location for Chester town centre and Cheshire Oaks Shopping Outlet. Thank you for a lovely stay. **Please note - There are no lifts at this hotel.**

I always like having a mirror near the dressing table, but not complaining. Having to ask for extra loo roll (one full roll and less than half was in bathroom when we arrived) ....just a suggestion, why not offer discounted price on evening meals on very quiet evenings, when customer numbers low..

The building is stunning and our room was very comfortable, spacious and warm. The bed and pillows were soft and we had a very good night’s sleep — waking up to the sound of birdsong.

It’s looking a little tired in places and some attention needs to be paid to minor maintenance. The chair in the dining room was worn; there were a few minor mechanical issues in our bathroom; and the paint needed a refresh on some of the doors; the fire doors between corridors looked particularly grubby where people put their hands to open them. The layout is a little confusing and although there is signage to indicate the direction to particular rooms and back to reception, the signs were sometimes in odd locations (not next to the door they were pointing to) and there were places where there was no sign but ought to have been.

Easy to find and very welcoming room was spacious and warm, bathroom was large and shower great, would have liked a bath but poor flow from tap and cool water and took forever to fill so knocked it on head, meal was great had lamb and my partner had the hake, was a lovely meal, then they helped me propose to my girlfriend, which was very appreciated,

When in room we only had 2 teabags between us to last all afternoon and evening and morning, think this needs addressing so had to go and get some more as well as teaspoon. Some more veg (greens) with meals would be nice only had carrots and mash with shank

Breakfast was good, although not excellent, but for the price I thought it was well worth it. The swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were ace! Although I think that some of the jets needed fixing in the jacuzzi. We got given free towels for swimming and even allowed to stay here until after check out which was lovely. Really quiet, and lovely staff.

The menu was a little restricted, it would have been nice to have some rice based dishes for example. But what we did have was really tasty, well cooked and good value.

Overall hotel was really high spec and very luxurious especially our suite room 1 was amazing we have also booked our wedding day at the hotel for next year staff was great and even went out there way to get us information and booklet for wedding which includes everything we needed. Thank you for an amazing stay

The breakfast was a huge let down quite low quality food what they did have as lots of the full English items was run out even tho we was there at only 9 am when Sausages did come they where low quality and not much selection on the continental either there was only 1 yogurt let and that had a hole in it. No bacon left a tablespoon of scrambled egg left no mushrooms, fried eggs was quite rubbery and ran out of fresh orange real disappointment as we was expecting it to be great after we had eaten some really tasty food for dinner the night before.
