Good location, quiet room (130+) as we were furthest from reception area and bar. Good breakfast selection for hot and cold food. Staff all very friendly and housekeeping very helpful when we requested their assistance.

Everyone and everything were fine , no concerns during our stay. It is worth noting that you should make sure your breakfast is included in your price as it was expensive to add for those who did not have it. Also due to its location there are no taxi companies close by. We pre booked ours both ways in advance, to get to and from our function We used King cabs who were excellent and arrived on time for our journeys.

Easy to find location -close to the motor way. The property itself was quiet and very calm. Rooms and bathroom were good sized and spotlessly clean. We were travelling with our dog and there was plenty of space for him to exercise . Very dog friendly -which was a great change for the UK. Staff were wonderful-very helpful and engaging . Breakfast was excellent and well cooked . All in all a lovely stay and will definitely be back .

Friendliness and professionalism of the staff - we couldn't fault them. We would return based on this element only. The food on offer was varied and met our needs - a light lunch a really excellent evening meal plus breakfast. The room was fine, it was quiet and overlooked part of the gardens. We were warm and content there. Elemis toiletries were provided and there was a range of teas and coffees. Note that we have stayed in Craxton Wood on a number of occasions during twenty years so it is useful to be able to compare visits during this time. The staff have excelled themselves this time.

One of us would have liked a flatter, less bouncy pillow to be available. Although we were in a standard kingsize room we thought it was good and would be happy to return to the room.

Set within its own large country estate, the hotel a very peaceful and secluded. The buildings were attractive and well kept with a very clean, well furnished and comfortable room. The leisure facilities, especially the pool area, were first class

Although the bar and restaurant were good, they were also exceedingly expensive. At £13 for a glass of house red and about £60 for dinner I thought that the management were trying to subsidise the room rate. I noticed that there was a premier Inn a few hundred yards away, so I guess they have to match the room rates with the competition.

It was in a lovely location .. staff were very friendly. Good size room and good room facilities. I suspect when it is very hot you may need fans as there wasn’t any air conditioning but it did it effect us on this stay. The added bonus was the spa facilities and the length of time they were available from.

We didn’t stay B&b but had the breakfast on our last day and was a bit underwhelmed for the price. I was looking forward to the omelette which was on the online menu but not on the menu being used. Had the full English and didn’t like the potato scone and hubby said the black pudding was a bit over cooked. But these are quite minor things and would certainly stay again.

The staff - their ability to make things happen and put things right. Going over and above what was expected. The manager rectified our two issues quickly and easily. There were also several kitchen and housekeeping staff who went out of their way to be helpful and kind.

The DBB option initially only allowed a £25 discount each off the evening meal, which wasn't even enough to choose 2 out of the 3 available courses. The manager kindly allowed us to choose two courses off the menu for each of the following two evenings. The room we stayed in the first night was directly above a wedding reception and the soundproofing was terrible. It was very noisy until quite late. The manager kindly arranged for us to move rooms to a nicer and quieter one.

Great hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Large clean rooms with nice bathroom and provided shower gel/shampoo/soap. Nice quiet environment. Water stations available in the hallways for fresh water or sparkling water. The pool was nice and the facilities around it were great (lockers, towels).

It's tricky to find the entrance the first time as it's just a sudden turn off the main road, but there is another entrance around the corner if you miss that one (which we did the first time). Parking is ok. Find a space and park up. Not really marked out so you can get some space around your car (unlike standard car parks around the UK which are marked with just enough space to park your car). It was busy but nowhere near full. The one thing we noticed was the lack of normal power points around the bed and no USB points. Ok, it's an older hotel but these things are pretty essential these days. There are some power points on the desk by the TV, but just standard plugs, so bring your adapters.

It was lovely our room was spacious and well decorated. It was clean and in a nice location in the hotel

The restaurant is over priced .. chicken and leek pie with a few vegetables. The dish was no bigger than a cat feeding dish and the lack of vegetables was disappointing the fact that £20 can be charged for something I would class as a children’s meal is outrageous ! The prices in the restaurant need a review ! To be honest the only reason I did not complain was because it was busy and I was so taken aback by the meal itself,

Lovely setting in lovely grounds. Nice to have use of the pool, sauna and steam room in out B&B rate

Food is overpriced for the standard served. Our breakfast was included but there was a £5 supplement for anything other than full English (vegetarian option included). Fancy smashed avocado on toast? Not for a supplement. If you were paying for breakfast it would be £24 before any supplement. The breakfast was pretty standard and not worth £24 - probably best to walk up the road to Premier Inn if you are on a room only rate. Similar comment about evening meal - just pub standard and nothing special. (Try Pesto at The Yacht a mile up the road - that was brilliant)

Great value price through the Booking.com Genius account. Large room. Big , comfy bed. Warm . Quiet ,central location on the Wirral, with scenic grounds. A big bath-with an efficient shower. Spotlessly clean. Have visited before and will visit again! Couldn't take advantage of the gymn and spa this time -but they are an added bonus to the trip. Staff were friendly and helpful

Nothing. We enjoyed a relaxing stay. The room was quiet and we had an excellent sleep on both nights.
