The food, both the meal in the evening and the breakfast in particular, which was one of best I have had. Good quality ingredients perfectly cooked.

Unfortunately the pub had what I believe was their first ever quiz night which completely ruined what could have been an enjoyable evening. Although we were promised a seat in a quieter part of the pub, this never materialised.

The location was lovely - especially at this time of year with all the decorations. River close by and local walks. The chef didn't turn up for breakfast on my first day which was an issue, but the young man in the pub did everything he could, made me toast himself, and I got a discount off the evening food. He couldn't have done any more. I totally forgive the Chef as the next morning's cooked breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. Not only well cooked but top quality ingredients (sausages/tomatoes/black pudding/hash brown and bacon all wonderful and perfectly cooked poached eggs).

It would have been helpful if the Chef had turned up on time in time the first day - I sadly missed out on having two of those amazing breakfasts.

The staff were very nice, the breakfast was really good, best full English I can remember and young man at breakfast was very good. I had been told that you can only have coffee, tea or orange juice at breakfast, I am not sure if this is true, but I got 3 pots of tea at breakfast with no extra charge. No jam or marmalade at breakfast, which was a little strange and I do like marmalade on my toast. The rooms were clean, comfortable, maybe a touch basic but were fine for us. Nice and quiet and we had a good nights sleep.

The cleaners were hanging about from 10.00am, when check out was 11.00am. Lifting panel and n bathroom floor.

The hotel is in a perfect position to explore Cookham. The accommodation was excellent. The bed was comfortable and bathroom spotless. Separate parking space for residents was very useful. We ate in the restaurant and had one of the best meals ever! Thanks to the chef! Staff friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was good, but an offer of cereal, yogurt etc before the hot breakfast would have been appreciated. Also a pot of tea/coffee , rather than a single cup would have been welcomed. One room of our 2 room booking had to be cancelled due to the guests contracting Covid. Although we cancelled the room 29 hours before arrival we were still charged the full price for the room. Disappointing. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.

Good rooms with all you need and good parking close to the door Food is very good and much better than most around Staff are young & helpful and do their best ... seen many places where they are not this good

Very hot day when I stayed and the towel rail was on ... like having a radiator in the room ... had to turn it off, but that a grumble only if i am being very picky Prices are southern prices so nothing is cheap ... but as the food is good its even hard to mention this Only real grip was the slow internet, shared with the pub garden ... OK if no one around but hard to WhatsApp if busy.

Wonderful place on the green,All the staff made our week stay comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms are designed well , clean and very relaxing. With the food is totally amazing you get so much for what you pay billy and his team are a credit to the pub . Evening meals are a must and the breakfast is massive and not to be missed . Front of house can't do enough for you and the atmosphere is friendly and light hearted banter which make you feel as if they want you there not for just the money. As I said it's a little gem ,definitely will be visiting again👍👍👍

Not my first stay at the Crown. Rooms are compact but clean, modern and comfortable. The breakfast is in the pub/restaurant in the morning and is exceptional (and portions large). The staff are always brilliant dealing with a barrage of drinks orders and breakfast order variations.

The only negative was that there were no toiletries provided in the room other than a tiny bar of soap so I had to go out and buy shampoo. I don't think this was the case the last time I visited. For the price of rooms these days it doesn't seem like too big an extra cost to include.

Good location. Clean and tidy room/en suite.... Easy access/ground floor accessibility ie no stairs. Parking around the back of the accommodation. Good menu choices for breakfast and dinner. Decent portion sizes.

The large shower unit/tray had no means of stability for the person using it. There was no grip on the plastic shower tray, no mat and no hand rail for support and for someone like me with arthritis in ankles and feet, I didn't feel safe and steady. I did mention it to the staff, so hopefully it will get rectified sooner rather than later. Can't speak for the other 5 rooms though. The only other thing was the one cup policy of tea for breakfast, a second cuppa would have been nice but I couldn't see it written down anywhere, unless I missed it.

A very beautiful English pub/restaurant with a handful of really cosy and lovely apartments. Situated in a gorgeous small village of Cookham yet so close to all major routes and towns. This family owned business is top rate, all staff were fantastically friendly, chatty and very welcoming. Plus, the breakfasts are without doubt, the best around prepared freshly by a fantastic in-house chef. I can't praise this little gem highly enough. Thank you all...can't wait to visit again.

Absolutely nothing.

The Crew from Sailing Spook Yacht Charters, Lymington, found this was a really good spot to be based to walk the Thames Path. The Staff were Super Friendly and efficient and Dinner was very good. The inclusive Breakfast had a fantastic selection and was really excellent. We will definitely return next season. Absolutely Great value for money.

A few very minor updates would help, but we were assured they would be immediately dealt with when we mentioned on leaving, the bathroom heater was not working. Nothing at all major just little tweeks.
