Lovely kind welcoming interactive staff through out. Credit to housekeeping all areas seemed spotless 🙂 We both enjoyed surroundings and lack of loud background music !

There was nothing we did not like. So this is a minor comment nit a criticism, 1) The wi-fi kept dropping in and out 2) We didn't realise that during our stay the restaurant was not open in the evenings, however we were made welcome to eat in the bar area. We both see the sense in this re costs etc post covid. Neither impacted on our stay but one can imagine some might not be so happy .

The hotel is well located in a nice and verdant area, and very quiet. The room size was really good as well as the bathroom size. The amenities is the room were fairly enough and well maintened. There's no air/con so it's a bit hot in summer but a small fan was provided in the room so it was ok. It is not the newest hotel and decoration could use a bit of update, but to be honest it's really good value for the price and the location. The 10£ breakfast was good value and the staff was overall friendly and helpful.

Shower gel dispenser almost empty in the bathroom, would be great to check that it's refilled every time after each customer.

The breakfast staff were very efficient whilst also being very pleasant and attentive and the hot breakfast was of a good quality and came quickly. The evening meal we had one night was exceptional as far as my husband's comments go - he had haddock which he rated as the best fish he'd tasted in a long time. The room was clean and comfortable.

On one day the windows were cleaned and then an hour later polished meaning that on two separate occasions we had a window cleaner standing up on the flat roof outside our room and that was a bit of a shock as we were not dressed as we awaited the time to get ready for a function elsewhere a couple of hours later. I think the cleaning could have been co-ordinated to spare the blushes of guests who were actually in their rooms at the time.

location rooms comfort etc all great views parking breakfast quietness

we had amazing staff but two bad staff experiences... the first was at check in- the young lad wasnt very helpful and didnt tell us anything about hotel or times etc, he interupted our check in as he answered phone whilst we were mid check in and we were just sat waiting for him to finish... he then apologised and continued with us and a few minutes later did the same thing again- it was rude and unprofessional... we left reception not knowing where our rooms were and were told not to use lift as its a bit ropey. Second was a female member of staff on day 2 - very abrupt, dismissive and rude of our reasonable request ... we went back later and asked same question to a lovely bubbly receptionist instead and rcvd a proper helpful answer who reassured us on great customer service.

Beautiful hotel, room was spacious and the view over the gardens was stunning. Reception very helpful, stayed for a wedding. Highly recommend, beautiful 😍

Breakfast staff, did not explain anything when we arrived. We had other family members already seated from a different room, usually you are told where the juice is etc. Maybe it was a one-off?? Breakfast itself was really nice, but let down slightly by what appeared as non interested staff unfortunately, other than perfect stay.

This is a lovely traditional-style hotel set in peaceful grounds. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was far bigger than you get in most hotel chains, with a bath and shower in the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious - you can choose what you'd like from the cooked breakfast options and it's made quickly and served piping hot. The best thing is the peace - I don't think I've stayed in a hotel for years where it's really quiet, which is a bonus for light sleepers. I liked the traditional look of the room, which is in keeping with the hotel. All in all, a great find!

Nothing.

This is a lovely hotel set in its own grounds with a lovely garden which you are able to sit in and enjoy. The room was large and spacious and had all the amenities that you would expect. The dinner provided is limited but of excellent quality and the breakfast is superb and again of exceptional quality. The staff were very pleasant and friendly and nothing was a problem. The room is light and airy and the large bed was extremely comfortable.

Our room was on the first floor and had direct access to the garden. It offered great views but consideration may be given to putting nets up which could be drawn back as in the morning we had to draw the curtains in order to get dressed. This isn't meant as a criticism as I love the openness of the room but perhaps a consideration for the future.

Grovefield House Hotel is a classy and comfortable hotel set in attractive grounds with ample parking. The staff are polite and helpful, the bar offers good supper options and there is a good range of tasty breakfast options.

The one thing that spoiled our stay was the heat in the room. Nothing can be done about hot summer weather, but the heat in the room overnight was unbearable. It was good that a swivel fan was provided, but it did little to counter the intense heat, and sleep was nigh on impossible. The hotel should seriously consider installing an air conditioning system.

Car park. Served food in evening (although had not expected that it was available). Good breakfast. Helpful staff who were able to rebook us for subsequent stay. Grounds to walk around for a stroll.

No aircon. Not being able to book for dinner (ie to guarantee we could eat). Opton for earlier breakfast - even if cold/continental. We have an electric car - would have been great if there was at least an outdoor plug we could connect to - even if only a standard plug for trickle charge overnight. ideal would be a proper charger but appreciate that would take investment and some planning.

Friendly helpful staff, large comfortable, clean room with large ensuite. The bed was very comfortable. Nice atmosphere. Lovely grounds. Good location for trains into London and to the M4.

The hotel feels a bit tired: worn carpets and broken down lift, although we were only on the first floor so it was fine. A general spruce up would bring it the usual level of a 4*. The cleaners need to check the TV remote is working - I think the batteries had died. I don't like showers in baths as I am concerned I will trip on the way in or out and the bathroom was huge so a wet room shower would be good
