We chose The Chequers for its location, and it was very convenient for all that we wanted to do during our four night stay. There was ample parking, although access from the car park to the accommodation was a bit of a trek. The food was fine, and our breakfast hostess Rosie was delightful, as were the room cleaning team.

Our first morning we were wakened before 0730 by a decorator preparing the outside of the windows for painting, and the fire alarm went off on the second morning - we evacuated our room only to find that everyone else was carrying on as if nothing had happened!

Close to Burnham Beeches, which is fantastic for woodland walks and big picnics on the main common area. Carpark, restaurant, shop/ice creams, enclosed kids playground and (clean!) toilet block with cubicles all next to the common. Parking at £3 for the day. The Chequers Inn has a great bar with 3 x Rebellion Brewery ales, waitress service, plenty of parking and outside seating (with cover). Lovely staff at the bar, hotel reception and restaurant. Imaginative menu, exceptionally cooked and presented, with great choices for vegetarians in both the bar & restaurant (I tried the beetroot humous starter to share - but I didn't!) and reasonably-priced wine, from around £20 a bottle - e.g. the Chenin Blanc was £26 and the restaurant food bill was around £30 (one person). Modern design throughout the hotel; my room had a large wet-room shower and comfort and cleanliness is excellent throughout, including the stunning restaurant space. Laid back vibe...

Nothing to say on this.... a genuinely great, relaxing place. There was a family 80th birthday party (Saturday afternoon) being held, but everyone was chatting and mixing in and there was a great atmosphere. Shame I could only stay one night...

The chequers inn is a delightful place to stay, rooms very clean and tidy, enough pillows and towels, walk in shower lovely and hot, bed comfortable. Opposite is a field with a rambling path leading to woods and then a spectacular view for miles of the whole valley. Surprised to see four electric car charging points there,(I would have brought my car and not the wife’s if I’d researched this better) there’s a spa too which we didn’t have time to try. We ate an evening meal here which was great too. The two photos, one is the inn itself and one the church seen from the walk I mentioned above

Nothing really, we were happy with everything.

Lovely pub diving distance In Minutes to Marlow and other areas . Family Room clean and nice bath , lovely pub that served food till 10pm and they were helpful and friendly . Would definitely stay again

The pillows flat and the bottom sheet was too small for the bed so showed a unprotected mattress which put me off a bit . So we spent on top of the bed sheet and used the quilt . Room was a little too hot so had to sleep with the windows open , but then better than being cold. TV didn’t bring up channels and someone came and played with it till it came on. In the morning same thing again.

Lovely location with gorgeous surrounding. My room was a great size, clean and well-appointed. Staff were so friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be rebooking.

My room was adjacent to a road and the traffic would be heard quite loudly despite the window being closed. Also, the blinds did not close entirely and there weren’t any curtains. However, these were only minor inconveniences that didn’t have much of an impact on my stay. Overall, this property was lovely.

My stay was picturesque on an August summers day. My room was in the seperate annex towards the rear of the pub which was fantastic and met my expectations. As I was travelling for work, I didn't want to travel further for food so I was delighted that the food at the pub attached to the accommodation was also great.

Only a few rooms with A/C units so I'd suggest requesting this at an early opportunity if travelling in warmer months.

Friendly helpful staff Great food and good wines despite a little bit pricey For my trip my steak and mushrooms served to my room was well deserved and appreciated too Thank you

I only have minor negatives being a bespoke housekeeper for my employment I found the cleaning standards to be very high just noted towels could be folded better (hiding seams and labels) toilet rolls including spares could be folded (better presentation) dusting on top of things needs attention ( on top of all mirrors, doors and head board) towel rail needed buffing up too none will put me of from returning though a very comfy stay, slept very well indeed

The property contains a lovely pub with delicious food. The bedrooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable and I didn’t hear any noise from other rooms, the pub or the car park outside. The bathroom had a huge shower and again was extremely clean.

I loved the property but I would say that I find £25 quite expensive to check in early especially when it’s so close to a popular wedding venue as more often than not people would need to check in prior to the wedding. But I loved the room and property!

My room was very comfortable and quiet and everything worked well. The inn is well modernised but the bar area, in particular, retains a traditional look. Quite lovely. Food and drink is of a high standard, if rather pricey. My lunch of a prawn sandwich with skinny fries and a salad and coleslaw garnish with a pint of Guinness was very nice but cost £16.10.

I understand why they did it, but I do not like to be required to sit down with a drink. Table service came with COVID and has remained, unfortunately. The days of standing at the bar, or on a stool, having a pint or two, have gone. Also, I found breakfast disappointing. The filter coffee was decidedly average and the limited choices did not include a lighter, healthier option at a reasonable price. I was obliged to pay around £13 for a (nicely cooked) fry-up, haddock or kippers when I really wanted to pay rather less for bran or muesli with fruits, yoghurt and honey.

Lovely location and window views. We stayed briefly for one night on our way to Legoland. The room we were given as a family (room 19) was extremely spacious, nicely decorated and clean.

We arrived later in the evening so only had the breakfast which was tasty, however I feel the options and prices could be better advertised. The menu doesn't give you the continental or child prices, it's also not an open buffet style so you can't see what's available, the waitress tells you at the table what the cereal/yoghurt options are etc. I suppose this was more of a dislike for us as we had children.
