Size of the room and the bathroom had a bath. Breakfast was good. Staff were polite and helpful.
Small bed in a big room. Would have liked a better bed.

The setting is beautiful.
The first room we went to was very, very dark. We soon got a move to a slightly nicer room. Still dark, but that is the ambience of the building. Check-in and check-out times could do with being a bit more flexible. It did feel very rushed having to be out by 10.30 am. We were a little late leaving and got a call to the room asking when we planned to leave. We were just walking out the door. Earlier, we had asked for more tea and coffee making facilities in the room. This took ages to arrive, which hadn't helped. All round a pleasant stay and would definitely go back. Breakfast was lovely, too.

What a fantastic hotel! Clean, comfortable and the grounds are stunning. The food is of an excellent quality and cooked well. We reserved a table in the restaurant for an evening meal and I didn't fancy anything on the main restaurant menu and asked if it was possible to select from the garden bar menu and this was not a problem and my meal was gorgeous. The bedroom was spacious, with a four poster bed, there was everything you could wish for, an iron and ironing board, fridge, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries, 2 large chairs and foot stools with a coffee table and a floor standing fan. The bathroom was spacious, the shower was over the bath (a grab rail in the bath might be an idea due to the bath side being high). The room was located on the 2nd floor and the hotel has a lift.
The bedroom was dark even with the lights on. I think parking should be free, it was £10 for 24 hours.

Lovely Room , we bid for an extra and got a Special room which was . However due to it being a lovely day the heat in the Room was excessive . They did bring us an extra Pedestal Fan which sadly was ineffectual , the standard fan was better Other than the heat the Room and whole experience was absolutely fantastic . Gorgeous evening meal , very tasty and well served . The breakfast very good and plenty of choice . All the Staff were friendly , cheerful and helpful . We look forward to returning and following our lovely time there , with friends
Really just the temperature in the Room , I can understand that Air Con not allowed in such a dated . lovely Building . However surely a few of the portable Air Con units would be a good idea , The fan supplied needs checking as it was not giving off any cool air

The hotel looks fantastic with beautiful features. The bar was very nice and relaxing to enjoy evening dinks. The room was nice and well equipped. The position was great. The breakfast was superb. We would definitely stay here again.
Unfortunately, the shower was so hot that it would burn you and no matter what we did, the temperature would not change, so we couldn't have a shower in the morning. There wasn't a remote control for the TV and we had to call the reception when we arrived to ask for towels since there was only one set of towels in the room when there were 2 of us staying. The online bar menu didn't seem to be up to date so, we arranged to go to another place for our evening meal. When we returned to the hotel for evening drinks, we noticed the menu would have suited us and we would have been happy to eat in the hotel. We would definitely look to eat at the hotel next time we stay.

The hotel is stunning, and the little details card on arrival for our anniversary little desert plate with the anniversary message was lovely. The place is stunning. The bread platter is a must, hot fresh bread butte, oil and balsamic vinegar. Check in and out was quick and easy, a map on check-in would be good as the place is huge.
The evening meal, we ordered the steak which is recommended by the chef and it states on the menu to have it medium rare but when it came it was rare we usually wouldn't mind but it wasn't the best and the Bernaise sauce was cold and too thick it didn't pour.

My husband and I booked a night away as a treat and it did not disappoint. A beautiful four poster bed and spacious bedroom. The food was absolutely delicious and excellent service. It really made our weekend special and we are just wondering when we can come back! This is so much more than just a hotel, the history of the place makes it extra special.
The only downside was when we walked around the grounds visitors had left litter, empty bottles and cans, around the grounds. Mainly underneath benches. This is disappointing that people show such lack of respect and unfortunately the rubbish was all still there the following morning. I think they could do a little more to ensure the litter is picked up.

The rooms and overall abbey décor was fantastic. Really feels like stepping back into a medieval times. The bathroom was quite grand and the bed very comfortable - room 127.
Paying for car parking is a bit naughty (£10 for a night). Is this really necessary? Surely the hotel could reimburse paying hotel customers? The dinner menu seemed overpriced, leading me to look elsewhere and travel out for dinner. Although it is a grand venue and would be lovely for a romantic (pricey) dinner, this is not ideal for single travellers, or those on business. Another option would be good.

Everything, our room was a grade one superior room and all I can say is that it was worth every penny, my wife absolutely loved it and we couldn’t have hoped for a better room, without a doubt the best hotel we have ever stayed in. All the staff were so thoughtful and went above and beyond, from the reception staff, the cleaners, the room service guys and girls to the restaurant staff. Baghav on the reception desk was world class!!!
There wasn’t a single thing we disliked about our entire 4 night stay. We downside was we couldn’t stay longer!!!

The room had lots of charecter, 4 poster bed, the bathroom was oldy worldy in decor, but very spacious and comfortable. My son stayed in a room with a hidden doorway in the bookcase to access the bathroom. The food was made fresh, was hot, and very tasty. The breakfast buffet had lots of choices from cold cereal/yoghurts/fruit, through hot choices, eggs/sausage/bacon/beans/mushrooms/hash browns. I am Gluten free and they were able to accommodate me
The tea making machine did not heat he water hot enough. However we asked the waitress for a hot pot of tea and she delivered.
