The room was beautiful and very spacious. The breakfast area was beautiful and there was a good variety to choose from for breakfast. The grounds are lovely and we enjoyed a stroll around to see the beautiful park attached to the property.
The shower head was terrible. It sprayed water all over the bathroom. Our friends room was very dark as there was limited lighting and small windows. There was only one outlet we could find to plug in our devices. Parking was far away from our room and so we had to move the car after unpacking and then bring it back in the morning to load up again. Time consuming when you are tired from a long day. The bar service for light snacks ended at 6pm on the Sunday we were there which was inconvenient.

Gorgeous location - absolutely unbeatable. Beautiful park, pond, swans, like a fairy tale. Fantastic Medieval Banquet. Beautiful breakfast location that you actually want to wake up to. The property itself is amazing and worth exploring on its own. There is a lot of history that you can actually feel and touch. The proximity of the Go Ape tree climbing park is definitely a hit too.
The only thing we did not like was their policy that rooms are only serviced once every three days. We are not used to this. But to be honest, this did not affect our stay too much - we just had to be tidier than usual.

Warm welcome from Sara the receptionist and able to change our room as we wanted to stay in the main hotel. Comfortable bed. Plumbing is a bit dated as expected in a Listed Building. Fresh milk is available for hot drinks in your room. Great view of the drive and parkland from bedroom window. Park surrounding hotel is ideal for strolling and plenty of seating at the back and side of hotel. Very photogenic location. Hotel popular for afternoon tea. Relaxing break wished we could have stayed longer than one night.
Breakfast was a huge let down. Very disappointing. We met up with a friend for dinner the previous night, so breakfast at the hotel was our only experience of the hotel's catering. The hot buffet breakfast was barely luke warm and all the plates were cold (no plate warmer) which didn't help. I did complain and was told they had a problem with the food warming dishes, which they rectified. We were offered a second breakfast, but we declined. Car parking is £8 for 24 hours as the Council own the park land.

The food was excellent, although I did have a problem with the meal initially but the staff responded very well and returned it to the kitchen. When it came back it was lovely.
The hotel was fantastic, food was a bit expensive. My main complaint is with the EV charging outside as it was completely embarrassing and in bad condition. Hardly any of the charge points worked and the one I tried would not connect with the app. There are so many better charge point operators out there such as Gridserve and Instavolt, even Char'gy who are relatively local to you who provide lamppost chargers. I won't be able to return until I know the charge points are working.

The Garden Room breakfast location was good. A wide variety of food was on offer but the kitchen occasionally seemed to find it difficult to keep up with the demand. We had dinner in the Garden Room one night. The food was excellent but it was unexpected to see that so many of the items on the menu incurred additional charge for guests with the Dinner package. Our experience of lunch and dinner at the Bar was great. The serving staff were always polite and helpful. On several occasion they went out of their way to assist and answer our queries.
Guests with the Dinner package were invited to pay extra for some items. This is the first time that we have stayed in any hotel where we had to pay for parking. Importantly, if we left the premises then we were expected to pay upon re-entry - although the reception staff were willing to not double charge us if they were notified in advance.

Nice room, interesting building and grounds. Excellent choice and quality of breakfast. Very friendly staff. Good bar menu at reasonable prices, although only a few tables - they encourage you to book for dinner in the restaurant, which is much more expensive!
Parking charged extra, and payment awkward. Machine didn't work properly (touchscreen responding erratically) and I seem to have been logged for two separate visits, both to be paid separately (even though the second was within the 24hrs covered by the first!) I only moved from the carpark for 10 mins to load the car (as it was raining), which I checked with reception would be OK. Still to be resolved, but the signs mentioned new management of the parking, so maybe just teething troubles.

Oh my goodness! An amazing place, so steeped in history! So we’ll appointed and decorated! Felt like a Princess staying in our beautiful garden room!
We found the young staff were not very professional for such a impressive place. They took over ten minutes to even attend the bar to serve drinks. We sat outside in the garden to have a drink. Had to sit at dirty tables with numerous used glasses still sitting there from previous patrons. Waiters walked past on several occasions and never once thought to clear and clean tables, or even ask if you would like another drink.

The location was incredible, breakfast delicious, staff brilliant. Having the upgrade made all the difference in the world and the icing on the cake was being told the hotel was covering the parking fee as we were checking in. It’s the little things!
It was a really hot day so possibly larger bottles of water in our room? To be fair we could have used room service! We just weren’t sure if the Tap water was supposed to be drunk. We are probably the only people who have never used a coffee machine, so without instructions we had a bit of trouble working it out. But when we did the coffee was amazing. Also we couldn’t get internet on our phones from our room (but that’s a bonus in my mind😁)

pretty location in a large park. quirky stately home. we had a feature room with four poster bed - bed was too soft for out liking but clean. as it is an older building the plumbing is noisy so be aware of night loo trips if you don’t want to wake up your spouse. we had room service, breakfast and lunch and the food was good throughout. I was given a room with connecting door, due to previous bad experiences I requested to be changed and that was done with no trouble at all.
you do get a feeling of the bad things may have happened in this building. but that could be purely because of its period, heritage and too much info available online to make your mind wonder and play games with you!

The first impressions as you approach are breath taking and everything about the hotel was very impressive. The staff were excellent and attentive, the room was lovely and the breakfast was first rate. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully get the chance to stay again.
I personally disagree strongly with charging additional fees for parking, this should be included in the cost of the accommodation, it is understood that people do just visit the country park but a simple barrier system would suffice.
