We loved this place, A nice old looking pub with modern facilities. The room was spacious and clean with a little fridge. The staff were super friendly and chatty. We had an excellent evening meal, with very well kept real ale, and breakfast was also very good with lots of choice. Would love to return.
Minor issue, but we could not switch off the radiator in the bathroom and the windows were quite small, so it was a bit too warm for me. You can hear customers down stairs if you go to bed early, but this is stated in the details on booking.com, so you are made aware. We were prepared and used our motorbike ear plugs and got off to sleep quickly.

We booked this last minute to break up a journey. When we arrived an hour after booking we received a very warm welcome and we asked about dining times only to be told the restaurant was closed that night. We were disappointed as we hadn't eaten properly that day and explained this to which we were told not to worry as they would arrange for a chef to come in and prepare a meal for us. As promised they did just that. We were given a masterclass in customer service and it was done with genuine warmth. The next morning after a lovely freshly cooked breakfast we had a long chat with the owner - our chef and found him to be a most friendly, professional, caring host who was happy to go above and beyond to ensure his guests were completely happy with their stay. Fantastic service and we cannot recommend them enough.
The road into the village is a bit hairy to drive on but the welcome is worth it.

Our room was great, charming in an old fashioned way which was in keeping with the age and style of the pub. Tea /coffee making facilities and a small fridge, with water and fresh milk, were provided. The bathroom was spacious and well appointed, the bed was very comfy and everything was very clean. We really enjoyed dinner in the pub restaurant. There was plenty of choice, very good service and the food was delicious, along with a nice choice of wines. Breakfast was a very good start to the day, with plenty of choice and a cracking full english with everything beautifully cooked and piping hot. Again service was great.

The staff are so friendly and accommodating. I left my headphones and they are kindly being shipped back to me. The food is amazing, we had dinner and lunch there over the weekend and not a single meal disappointed, the choice of beer is great too. The fat chips and fish were a highlight The room is cosy with a large bath You are 4 mins away from the Oldfield forge where we were visiting, and the area is beautiful! We hope to come again just to explore the area
The building is very beautiful and old, but this means the floors and walls are thin. We were staying in the Stars room above the bar and we could hear everything, the pub goers are really loud, going way past 11pm when the pub is meant to close, and when I did fall asleep I was woken up again by shouting. If you're a light sleeper like myself bring ear plugs or see if you can stay in a room further away from the pub and beer garden.

Room was very comfortable and very clean. Bathroom was great and had everything needed. Breakfast was very good with good quality ingredients. Evening and morning staff were all very friendly and helpful.
If you like or want an early night, you might want to prepare to not get it. The noise from the bar below was VERY loud in the room. It’s accepted there would be some noise from people in the pub, but the volume of the music being played (dance music) was not appreciated at all. It went beyond reasonable when it was turned UP at about 10.30. Thankfully it was turned off about 11.15, but our hope for an early night after a long drive was well gone by then. A few reviews mention noise so maybe management could address it. If you’re selling rooms to people for sleep then they have to be considered. Maybe have a music off (or at least turned down) policy at 10.00/10.30, rather than a turn it up policy. At least that gives people a chance!

We only stayed for 1 night. We found the staff to be excellent. Value for money and a good location for the Oldfield Forge which we were attending the following day. We ordered a packed lunch to be delivered to the forge which was excellent, delivered in time and of good quality. We would definitely recommend for this type of stopover. We ate in the pub and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Freshly prepared and good quality.
The inn was closed and locked when we arrived at 4pm which was disconcerting. I had phoned to confirm 5 days earlier and it wasn’t mentioned which I think would have been helpful. There was no phone signal in the village so ringing to check was not an option. We did eventually manage to make contact but an awkward start could have been avoided. Our room was above the bar and was quite noisy until the pub close at 11.30. Just something to consider if you’re looking for an early night !

Lovely room & en suite, more like a mini apartment really. Clean, well maintained, warm, comfortable. Friendly staff, friendly locals. Excellent quality food.
It is very remote, only accessible by car really, not much else in village so have to travel for supplies or entertainment. Check in quite late in the day (17.00) to coincide with Inn opening hours. Vegetarian & vegan menu options quite limited. Need to advise in advance really to ensure veggie options available for cooked breakfast.

The location was great (perfect for my 3 day activity at the nearby Oldfield Forge), the staff were extremely welcoming, the room was very comfortable and the pub was pleasantly busy in the evenings and the food was really good - the staff even going as far as personally delivering lunch to the forge each day.
The only unfortunate issue was the fact that, due to it being an old building without modern soundproofing, the noise from the bar does come straight through the floor to the bedroom, so on a Friday night there's no chance of an early night (or even before midnight). Best option is to enjoy it by staying down in the bar instead!

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were excellent. Breakfast was fantastic. Perfect for people coming from afar to visit Oldfield Forge, with whom the Inn has an arrangement for lunches - I recommend the chicken and bacon ciabatta!
There were Rugby matches on in the main bar on Saturday night - while I don't object to this at all (far from it!) the Stars room is directly below the bar, and it was noisy until 11pm. A warning from the staff would have allowed us to plan a more comfortable evening. Not an actual complaint, just a warning to other travelers!

Lovely bedroom with exceptionally spacious bathroom, with a bath 😊. We stayed two nights and the food, both breakfasts and evening meals were very good. The breakfast was included in the room rate. The evening meals were very reasonable. My husband was participating in an event nearby and the inn delivered him lunch on that day. We were sent a menu beforehand and he could choose between various hot meals or filled ciabattas. We would thoroughly recommend the Garway Moon Inn,
