Excellent communication about our visit with the owner Mike. He was there waiting for us on arrival. The room was well appointed with ensuite shower attached. Tea and coffee supplied in the room along with snacks that were replaced daily. The room shares a separate terrace with table, chairs and umbrella. Perfect location along the Waterside and under the viaduct close to cafés and pubs. Mike also gave us a list of eating places where we could get a discount for being a customer of Teardrop Cottage. Continental breakfast was lovely with lots of fresh fruits, tea, coffee, juice, toast, cereals, pastries, cheeses, yogurts and meats. Short walk up the hill into town but definitely worth it as lots of eateries, bars and the castle as well as Mother Shiptons cave just over the river. Easy to catch a train to Harrogate for a day out as station is 5 mins walk away. A very enjoyable stay and would definitely book again.

Parking for one car is available on the drive, check with Mike for other options as was very busy on the weekend but quiet in the week for road parking.

The location is excellent, by the river with views of the castle and right next to the viaduct. Pubs, cafes and the train station all within a few minutes stroll. We stayed in the Pink Room, which is very tastefully decorated and the bed was probably the most comfortable I have slept in away from home. The optional continental breakfast was well worth having, with a good choice of cereals, fruit etc. Last but certainly not least, Mike could not do enough for you, an excellent host.

Only stopped for one night.

It's a lovely little place to stay out of the way. Down by the river, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Only stayed the one night but it was just what the doctor ordered. I've just seen that the rating has come out as an 8 or something ? Which doesn't really reflect the place. I WOULD put it in the 9's

Nothing we didn't like. It was only a small room but bed seemed weirdly bigger than some other double beds I've slept in. Very small wet room in our bedroom which didn't bother us. But perhaps wouldn't suit a larger person.

We arrived on sat morning and were met by mike. He was very friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about what to do in the area. We stayed in the chocolate room although it didn't have an end suite which wasn't a problem the private bathroom was just along the landing. It was a large bathroom with roll top bath and very big shower. The room had amazing views over the river and had lots of complimentary goodies. We would definitely recommend this beautiful little cottage and would definitely stay again.

This place is an absolute pleasure and you should definitely stay if you have the opportunity. Right under the viaduct, amenities on the doorstep including a lovely pub on the same road. The owner of this place is lovely, welcoming, and wants to make sure you are looked after. He would literally do anything to make your stay the best it can be. The place is immaculate and smells lovely and clean. I would stay here again.

Nothing that reflects this beautiful cottage. The only issue we had was there were some very loud youths on the side of the river which kept me up most of the night but it was a Friday night and kids will be kids. There was nothing that the owner could have done to prevent this and I doubt its a regular occurrence in that area.

The communication with the proprietor Mike. The location, right next to the waterside. The discounted offers at local restaurants. Free parking.

I didn't like that the private bathroom was across the hallway. Thin walls, so felt that we had to try and be as quiet as possible, including when we went to the bathroom. No plug socket anywhere near the mirror, had to use a small hand held mirror to do my hair.

From the moment we stepped into teardrop cottage we were met by Mike who was super friendly and informative. Our room went above my expectation. The room was booked as a surprise for my partner (pre birthday) who loved it. The hot tub was fantasic. The weather was on our side too. We will certainly be returning! Breakfast was really lovely too, nothing was too much trouble, Mike is a super host.

Honestly could not fault anything

Everything. A beautiful location and cottage to match the surroundings. The lounge, bedroom, rooftop balcony, decor and furnishings all delightful. Mike the host was a pleasure to meet and added to the feel of the place. The host, location and cottage where all just so suited and in keeping of an amazing, idyllic riverside location.

Nothing. If picky I might say the parking is limited (we got lucky with the driveway, but if occupied could be a struggle to guarantee a spot nearby….lots of spaces for residents only). and tight to access (pedestrians/cyclists on a narrow lane) can be quite oblivious to an approaching car behind them or attempting to access the driveway. Room also a tadge small, but more than manageable for the pair of us. However, these picky observations are irrelevant once at the location, venue and host, so please disregard my comments as a criticism, just a heads up for future residents if they need them.

The location is amazing. The cottage sits on the waters edge. Cafes and pubs can be found alongside. Steps can be located all along the waterside to the town centre above. The cottage has a secluded seating area upstairs for guests in the upstairs rooms. Where you get the beautiful sights of boats on the river and of course the viaduct. The downstairs room offers an added bonus of a secluded hot tub. We choose to pay for a hot breakfast in a cafe nearby pointed out by the host. A continental breakfast is available on site.

Our room the pink room had beautiful floorboards but you couldn't take a step without a creak. The shower and toilet room was tiny. The whole place was wet when using the shower.

The location of the property is fantastic, literally in the heart of everywhere we visited, the view from everywhere is beyond amazing, the cottage had a real rustic charm about it and felt really homely. The host was extremely helpful, cleaners everyday, just a beautiful place all together.

We had a room where you had to cross the hall to use the bathroom, it was extremely spacious and lovely but as we were staying in shared accommodation we felt we had to tip toe around at night out of fear of waking others when crossing the hall and opening doors to use the bathroom.
