My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Waterside Cottage. The room was attractively presented, well appointed, comfortable and clean. John and Anita were great hosts, very keen to make our stay relaxed and enjoyable, and had lots of local knowledge which they were happy to share. The continental style breakfast was perfect for us, but make sure to read the property details if a Full English is important to your day. Knaresborough itself is an attractive town with a nice atmosphere and plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants within walking distance. The scenic riverside is just just a few hundred yards away.

We liked everything about the place. Those with impaired mobility should bear in mind that it's a quaint 300 year old modestly proportioned cottage with the guest room at the top, so access might be unavoidably tricky.

The property was extremely quaint with an exquisite interior and it certainly earned its place in ‘house beautiful’. You can leave your car in the private parking spot and walk out of the front door along the riverside. The proud owners couldn’t do enough to make our stay an exceptional experience and I would go as far as saying it is the most beautiful, comfortable bed and breakfast we have stayed in (being seasonal travellers). The little extras, home-made biscuits, fresh-wrapped loaf and fruit to name a few was such a nice touch. Very friendly, interesting couple who are a fountain of knowledge.

Waterside Cottage is an immaculate cottage with every home comfort you could wish for, it is spotlessly clean & in a great location. The hosts were just perfect & went above & beyond to ensure our stay was memorable, and it was, even little Bella was just so friendly 🐾 We would recommend Waterside Cottage to anyone. And will definitely return.

A quaint little cottage, with two brilliant hosts, and a lovely little dog. A lovely continental breakfast with tasty soaked pears. Will defiantly be coming back next time we stop in Knaresborough,

Nothing really bad, just parking was a little tight, as I have a large estate car, and a little warning to any tall people (I'm 6ft), there are low beams in the attic room.

Anita and john are amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is the most beautiful and well loved place we have ever been to, so homely and the attic bedroom is so cosy and every space is well thought through. The continental breakfast was beautiful and so fresh. A perfect stay and we will be back. Linda and Keith.

The hospitality of the hosts were exceptional and they were always there to offer advice and have a friendly chat. The Room in the converted loft was very comfortable and facilities were first class in the room including tea coffee facilities and breakfast was a healthy diet of Fresh Fruit, cereal and toast. Definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone else.

John and Anita were amazing hosts and made us feel like family. The attic room was beautiful with lovely little touches like homemade biscuits, excellent quality tea/coffee with coffee machine. The bed was so comfortable with crisp white bedding and plenty of pillows. Breakfast was delivered the night before so we could enjoy it at any time in the morning. We had bagels, croissants, toast, fresh fruit and Greek yoghurt with cute little pots of jam, marmalade and honey. There was cereal too and fresh orange juice. Highly recommended!! Lovely pub straight across the road with roaring fire and delicious food.

We should have booked a longer stay :-) Nothing to dislike at all.

John & Anita are such lovely people and nothing is too much trouble. You can tell they really love to host. They have got a gorgeous home and the bedroom have plenty of space and all the facilities were provided. The location is perfect for exploring Knaresborough and Harrogate.

John and Anita were superb hosts. They made us so welcome into their own beautiful and impeccabke cottage. Our room was comfortable, very clean and a superb breakfast of fresh fruits, fresh bread, yogurt and orange juice plus tea and coffee. We could not ask for more.

The cottage was lovely and in the perfect location for our stay, so near the river and the boats. Also two excellent pubs for food literally on the doorstep. John and Anita were great hosts, making us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Loved having breakfast in our room and appreciated all the little touches which went into making it feel special. We slept really well as the beds were so comfortable and everything was very clean . We left feeling like we had stayed with friends (including Bella their gorgeous little dog!). Would thoroughly recommend staying here. Thank you John and Anita. XXX.
