Completely helpful and friendly staff. The location is superb and parking was plentiful for the annexe area. The interior of the hotel: reception, bar, restaurant area, was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the atmosphere was, calm, warm and inviting. I had breakfast only as I was visiting family in the area. The breakfast was substantial and catered for all needs. The hotel really is dog friendly and that added to the magic of my stay. Knaresborough is a charming market town in North Yorkshire, with lots of individual bars, restaurants, pubs, a river, a castle and some wonderful walks.

My room, 029, had a noisy door seal that rattled all night - apart from that it had all I needed. The shower door did come off its wheels but maintenance came to fix it.

Lovely inn accommodation in a very good location at the bottom of the towns high street. Annex room was very clean and comfortable Plenty of car parking available when we visited Good atmosphere in bar area

I’d of liked bottled water in my room and some information on the local area.

Although the temperatures were below zero our annex room across the car park was warm and cosy. The breakfasts were very good in the main hotel restaurant. We didn't need our room cleaned everyday which meant we were given a free drink voucher, each day. We had two evening meals which were both excellent, chosen from a good-sized menu. It is a short walk to Knaresborough station with trains every 30 minutes to either York or Leeds, so we could leave the car for the day and enjoying eating and drinking out. Kevin was an absolute star helping us to clear ice off our car, the day we departed. Thank you

Christmas decorations were lovely in the restaurant but together with Chtistmas music in mid-Nov. too early for us!

The staff were very welcoming and responsive at all times. We had booked a double bed room but realized it was not ideal and the staff was flexible enough to find us a twin bed room instead. The parking is fine as long as you don't get back too late. Walking distance from the hotel are many dining options. It helps that Knaresborough itself is a pretty town and when it's sunny there is a beautiful garden at the hotel with tables where you can enjoy a drink in the sun.

The only little minus was that I would have liked scrambled eggs as a breakfast option but only fried eggs were available.

The location close to the town centre was excellent. Parking was plentiful on a first-cum-first-served basis. The breakfast was very good with loads of choice of hot food. They also had a novel concept of choosing not to have your room 'made up' in exchange for a free drink at the bar (you don't always want/need the room to be made up, so having the option was really good). The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There was one member of bar staff who was grumpy and unhelpful which lets down the whole side. He needed to go on a customer service training course!!! The rest of the staff were excellent.

Great location, close to the town centre, castle and stunning views over the town and weir. This is a really nice hotel with very friendly staff. We had an annexe room, which was compact, but still a reasonable size and comfortable. The bathroom had an opening window, which made a change from most hotels. It was nice to have USB charging points by the bed, as well as good central lighting and a sensibly placed socket in front of the mirror to dry hair. Outside, all annexe rooms had a patio table and 2 chairs, which was a bonus. It was good to be offered a free drink each if we chose not to have the room serviced. Breakfast is self-service all one can eat and was very good.

I wasn't sure about the window in the room, as it was regular door-sized. It had a locking mechanism to stop it from being opened too wide, but it didn't let in much fresh air and didn't feel entirely security orientated. However, without leaving it open, there would have been no air to the room.

Nice hotel, recently refurbished, large beds and showers. I had a little dog with me and he was also made to feel very welcome by staff. Nice gardens to sit out in and situated in a fabulous location. Close to shops, the view points, boats and right next to some fantastic walks along the river. Breakfast was nice, plenty of choice.

There was a smell in the corridor, which wasn't pleasant. However this did not affect the room. I had fish and chips in the evening and the fish wasn't nice and I couldn't eat it. The food and drink prices were far too high for the quality. Also no bottled or cans of fizzy drink, only on the pump which I don't personally like.

Lovely atmosphere. We felt welcomed and recognised by staff over the duration of our three night stay. Things like that do make a huge difference. The younger lads who were there in the morning during breakfast and also serving the bar later on were spot on. Apologies for not getting their names but if you were working between 29th October and 1st November, that was you! Perfect location for exploring Knaresborough. Great proximity to the river front and walks/attractions. Food was also top notch. We ate there the first night and had planned to go out elsewhere on our last night but after a long day of walking, we decided to eat, sleep and repeat because we had enjoyed the first meal so much ❤️

Lovely setting, stayed here before they refurbished and looks great, especially with the Xmas ambience, it was festive and welcoming. Staff was friendly and helpful, had a meal with family and great food, good menu choices and no long wait, despite the bar busy. Totally recommend it 🙂

Being November and rather chilly, had to turn radiator on after realising it was cold when I entered room, as such, took a while to heat up. Bathroom looked lovely but the doors for the shower not practical based on the location to the shower unit and the placement of the toilet. Only a slight issue as the bathroom was lovely
