The hotel was a very short walk to the town centre and you did not hear too much noise from outside. It also benefitted from having a car park, although some spaces are a bit tight and require expert manoeuvring to fit in. The hotel serves breakfast but I cannot comment on that as I booked on a room only basis. The WiFi signal in the room was good. The bathroom had underfloor heating too. Unlike many hotels, my room was refreshed on both days I was there (bed made, refreshments topped up, bin emptied, used towels changed, etc.) and not just when I arrived, which was appreciated. The room was comfortable temperature-wise and had a very high ceiling.

Being an older building, noise suppression from other rooms is not as good as a more modern construction. I could hear people moving about above me because the floor boards squeaked and somebody snoring all night on the first night in a nearby room. The television in the room was extremely small and far away. Maybe it was me, but I could not get rid of the subtitles either. There was no fan or air conditioning so the room may get hot in the summer.

What a beautiful hotel. Very friendly welcome. Comfortable rooms, which were really clean. Great amenities within the room. Breakfast was lovely, and gluten-free was well catered for. They even did GF sausage, which I was really happy about as most places just take it off the cooked breakfast. They even went out to get us oat milk, which was amazing and really appreciated. The location was great. Loved that we were able to park up earlier than check in. Gave us the opportunity to go off and explore and grab some lunch. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you

We were warmly welcomed staff friendly made you feel comfortable. Exceptionally clean had cosy bar area. Breakfast excellent fresh produce good variety. Comfortable rooms would definitely visit again free parking short walk to town centre and exhibition centre.

The room was spacious and just as described. Breakfast menu was very good we had full english and vegan options. Centre was only 10 mins walk. Free car park.

The breakfast was exceptional. The welcome and hospitality were exceptional. The location was good too. The cleanliness and room servicing were very good. Bathroom was lovely and the wifi was reliable

There was no lift - so I had to lug my heavy suitcases upstairs to the first floor. To be fair the Receptionist helped me with one on arrival. My room was hot and humid - no air con and the tv literally did not work or have a signal for the whole of my stay and was very small - difficult to see from the bed as well. As this was a single room - a working tv for a lone traveller would have been nice - I had to rely on my kindle and Amazon fire. The bed was somewhat hard and I did not sleep very well at all the second night

Beautiful property inside and out. Beds are super comfy. We had a loft room and I found it to be cosy. Separate bathroom with bath/shower. Separate little entrance. Tea and coffee facilities were good. Our room had a fan, radio, radio/CD player and TV. Lovely table with mirror. Plenty of storage.

A lot of stairs. If you can’t do stairs then request a lower room. This a minor thing but the glasses they supply in the room are tiny, more like a shot glass so if you wanted your own drink there is literally only a mouthful in a glass. Also none of the rooms have NO USB specific sockets so remember to take a plug with you.

The hotel was easy to find, the rooms were a good size, although there was no wasted space. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was served promptly and efficiently; the food was good, well cooked and presented. The location worked well for us.

The car park is very compact. Although I didn't have any issues it is obvious that cars have got bigger since it was laid out. We stayed in August, which was unseasonably cold. It would have been helpful to have some sort of heat, especially in the bathrooms to dry the towels.

Lovely helpful staff. Parking on site. Small but well decorated single room. Quiet. Bus stop opposite. Good breakfast.

Being alone, hosts in hotels and restaurants often assume I want to be hidden away in a corner or at the back when dining. Not true atall for me! I like a nice table, perhaps by a window just the same as I did when I was married. It’s a shame couples are prioritized for the best places. I’m not sure why…is it because they have paid more? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was once amazed in Stratford when I had booked online and found they had put me at the best table in the window..wonderful! A lovely dining room, but the Ascott sadly put me at a solitary table with a single chair against the back wall in between two doors facing a blank wall and the kitchen door opening and shutting with staff in and out serving. It was depressing.

We stayed in the loft room it was extremely spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, although there was a mix up with the order in which the waitress claimed that my husband had not ordered something but this was quickly resolved. Due to a family emergency we had to cut our trip short but will definitely return to Ascot House, it is a beautiful hotel

The hotel does not serve evening meals or Sunday roasts for parties less than 12. It would have been nice on the day of arrival to just chill and book a meal at the hotel but this was not an option. Other than that there was nothing about this hotel that we could fault

My stay at Ascot House Family was really great. My room was cozy, warm, comfy & spotless, breakfast every morning was simply excellent - with variety to choose from & really delicious, hotel staff very polite, helpful & friendly. And there was everything to make my stay comfortable & enjoyable. :) I loved staying at this hotel, strongly recommend it to others & I'm looking forward to my next stay with them next time! :)) Ivita :))
