The room was quant, nicely old fashioned. private rooms as they were barn conversions. Heating took a while to sort but warm enough when sorted and there was an extra heater in the room when we arrived which came in handy when we first got there. We ate an evening meal and this was very well presented and really enjoyable. We really appreciated that they we were still able to get a meal considering that they had a wedding there earlier, too. Good nights sleep in very comfortable bed. Breakfast was also equally enjoyable with good range of choice considering one of our group is a veggie! Definitely filled our bellies to the required amount, and a bit more. Staff were all extremely attentive and very pleasant. Especially the 2 young gentlemen in the evening where nothing was too much trouble. They absolutely went above and beyond with lovely banter and smiles even at the very end of the night. When they must of been truly tired considering they had had 2 weddings back to back.

Just the door to our room didn't close that well. Needed so TLC

This is a beautiful place with lovely gardens; would be great for a warm-weather stay. The room was small but had a large bathroom! The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and served with a smile. The location is out of the way for Nottingham but was perfect for our purposes.

Apparently the weather had been warm until shortly before our stay, but that's no excuse for the lack of extra blankets in the room and the failure to turn on the heating before we arrived on a very chilly night, especially as the place was almost empty. I had to ask twice for extra blankets -- and then was provided only with thin ones. With the heating and two extra blankets, we were warm enough for the night.

We booked the junior suite. It was beautifully decorated with plush carpet. Handmade biscuits were a gorgeous touch. Exceptionally clean. But what makes this hotel are the staff. They could not do enough for us, we were treated so very well. Nothing was too much trouble. When we mentioned we were up and away earlier than when breakfast started the night porter arranged for pastries and toast for us at 6 in the morning. Honestly we cannot wait to go back.

Its hard to pick on anything, there were a few parts which need touching up, but we are aware these are being worked on, and they were not detrimental to our stay. We had a heavy person who stayed above us who woke up at 5 am on Sunday and decided to tramp up and down which was noisy on the floorboards, but this is an older building and can only be expected.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Ample parking and bus stop right outside. Large bedroom with lovely large bath towels. I felt really comfortable there as a solo traveller. I would stay again. Really loved the use of a nearby gym/spa.

There wasn't anything I disliked but if I am being picky the hotel is tired in places and could do with a lick of paint and a new stair carpet. The reception area could do with a bit of a de clutter.I also had a few hairs in the bathroom/bath tub. Pillows a little hard.

Beautiful and quirky old building, we stayed in the cottage suite which was in the old courtyard which was just gorgeous! The bed was huge and comfortable and the room was a very large and comfy, well furnished room. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, a few travelled for a family get together and they really bent over backwards to help us all - thank you

Was very slightly dated, maybe a little refresh - plus being petrified of spiders I notice cobwebs that normal folks Dont - I do appreciate that, there were a couple. It wasn’t boiling when we stayed but the was no air on either - I wasn’t expecting it, but when it’s hot I might have missed that. The room seemed cool enough though so may never be a problem for being not getting night hot flushes lol!

Plenty of parking even though we arrived late. Warm friendly welcome from all the staff. The restaurant food was excellent. Well cooked pub food and a reasonable price. The suite i stayed in was spacious and extremely comfortable! A hot breakfast wasn't served until 8am on the Sunday but when we arrived at 7am we could still help ourself to a continental breakfast and the night porter was very helpful bringing out toast and coffee too! I wouldn't hesitate to recommned this hotel to anyone who wants somewhere comfortable, welcoming and excellent food!

Such a pretty place with lovely staff. Very comfortable room in a peaceful location. Slept like a log! What a delightful place - a little cluster of cottages made into a hotel! I was a bit dubious considering the very reasonable price and some reviews, but I'm happy to have stayed here - I'm so glad the premier Inn that the rest of our party was staying at was fully booked so we got the opportunity to try out this little gem of a place! Really tasty breakfast too! If you're looking for modern, anonymous chain style hotels this isn't for you but if you're in the market to be utterly charmed and have a great nights sleep this is the place for you.. Oh, and I think the biscuits they put in your room must be homemade. Make sure you try them, they're very tasty indeed!

The shower wasn't the best, but to be expected in an older building. It was still a warm shower in quite possibly the hugest hotel bathroom I've ever come across!

We had been in contact with the team before arriving about local restaurants and they were more than helpful. Upon arrival we received the warmest welcome and the customer service was exceptional throughout our whole stay. The room was beautiful and equipped with everything that you could need. It was a wonderful bed. The bar had a good selection of drinks. Breakfast was plentiful and very well cooked and presented. The location is great and walking distance to restaurants, bars and shops. Secure private parking was great. We're already planning our next trip.

The toilet seat was broken when we arrived which wasn't fixed but the staff did handle the issue very well

The staff were excellent, giving an exceptional level of service . They were so helpful and made a great effort to cater for my dietary needs (coeliac). Nothing was too much trouble for them. They also arranged breakfast in my room, as I had an early start. My room was warm and comfortable, and very quiet, overlooking a lovely garden. The ensuite bathroom was a little dated, but quite adequate. Evening meals were good value, with a particularly delicious meal the second evening. The bar was well stocked with a choice of wines, and a selection of local gins. Plenty of spacious parking . Easy drive in to Nottingham.

Staff were amazing Breakfast was amazing Location was amazing Room was amazing

We got told as we entered the bar for the meal that the restaurant was now fully booked (even though we booked) and they were to be relegated to sit in the bar and have dinner. I think this was a last minute mass booking into the restaurant but to be told as soon as we walked in for our evening meal all dressed up was a little disheartening.
