The Location is fantastic. Very close to the city centre and yet quiet. The room was small but the beds were very comfortable. The hotel and the room was clean. Housekeeping staff was very attentive and looking out for our needs.

Our room was next to the elevator, which caused a bit of noise. The common areas of the hotel are a bit dated, with worn carpets etc. And for me most annoying was the availability of the reception staff. They were just not there for check out and there was no bell or anything else to get their attention.

It's a return visit for us and ideal for a Christmas break. The room was a good size with an area we used for luggage and getting dressed. Breakfast was plentiful and a good choice. Staff are very friendly and helpful, despite working over the Christmas holidays. We loved the little Christmas stocking we found on our door on Christmas morning. Just a little touch but really thoughtful.

The parking thing was a little convoluted; "You can use the hotel parking but the NCP next door is cheaper." If you go NCP, then you are given one ticket for each day of your stay. Don't know what the restriction is for this but I would suggest it needs another look as to how to make it easier for guests.

Attentive and friendliness of staff a real positive. You could see the thought that went into making our stay as comfortable as possible. We loved the Xmas stocking placed on our door handle when we woke up Xmas morning. I've stayed in hotels this time of year in the past and have never received anything - well done St. James!

Whilst the actual time spent at the hotel was minimal, I wouldn't class it as an 4* hotel, rather a solid 3. The finishing touches could've been better such as bathroom area and carpets looked a little worse for wear in some areas. That being said, the things going for it meant we would stay again.

The hotel was very conveniently located in the centre of Nottingham. I would recommend it as a good place to stay as there is loads of parking nearby and everything that you will need on foot. The staff are very helpful. The Wi-Fi was good and the facilities were good.

There were only two minor things The first one is that it was hard to open and close the window as they were in a cove so to speak so you had to climb on something to be able to open and close the windows . Also this morning housekeeping knocked out the door at 9:30 when it was checkout day . It’s not really a problem, but I wouldn’t expect that as it’s New Year’s Day.

Loved the location! 5-7 minutes walk from pretty much anywhere I had to go. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, there was an amazing little heater in the room that worked wonders, the shower was hot the moment you turned it on and they provide little bottle of shampoo, shower gel and moisturizer lotion. Also there's a lavander spray next to the bed, it was a cute touch in my opinion. There's a kettle and few things for breakfast if you want but the hotel staff will ask you if you want to have breakfast.

Don't order the pizza from the menu. It's ok but... Yeah not really. Get the salt and pepper squid instead.

We paid for a upgrade, which was fantastic valve for money. The room was very spacious, bathroom & slipper lovely touch. Breakfast couldn't fault. Hot, plenty of choice Staff friendly.

The hotel was beautiful, but attention to detail needs to be improved. The lift inside was stunning, but the floor and the entrance needed a good clean. The restaurant we had food in, on the first night need a good hoover I came down the stairs and when I got to the ground floor, it had no flooring. Very poor, considering customer like using the stairs. Just little attention to detail. Our room was beautiful, but it had a small table in the room, which was tatty. Let the room down. Also the bathroom, the top of the tap was missing. Lastly no usb sockets.

Service excellent from all employees we encountered, extra blanket brought up for one of my children with no problem. Location brilliant, only a 5 min walk into centre, NCP car park right next to it. Spacious room and well soundproofed from any external noise. Firm comfy bed (which I like). Breakfast was decent.

Sofa bed for 2 children was small with a very thin mattress. Breakfast food was good, great selection, but coffee was from a machine and not great quality, and the orange juice tasted like it was from concentrate, not fresh orange juice, which I would have expected for the breakfast price.

The reception team were very friendly and welcoming, as were the bar team. The executive room was very spacious and had a coffee machine with pods and biscuits, the bathroom was nice and had White Company toiletries and the bed and pillows are really comfortable. The bar area is has a nice atmosphere, lots of people were having afternoon tea so will investigate that further! Breakfast was buffet style and fine. It's located in a nice part of the city, right by the castle, within an easy walk of the main square and all the bars and restaurants.

The hotel is a little faded, it could do with a lick of paint here and there and the carpets in the public areas had not been vacuumed recently.

Pleased with the fact that there was a kettle, coffee etc in theorem. Didn't use the iron/ironing board, although I was surprised to see one there. Bathroom was very clean, the water very hot, and towels good quality. I only had breakfast on the last day, but it was good value, and the options available in terms of fruit/yoghurt, cereals, cooked, a choice of three juices, all get a thumbs up. If I were to stay here again ( which I would happily do) then I would opt for breakfast included.

The bed felt a bit hard, but getting that right is always difficult for a hotel.

Nice and clean rooms. We got a room upgrade at half price. Breakfast was excellent. Restaurant food was fairly good as well. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Close to city Centre and just next to the nottingham castle if someone is visiting for sightseeing.

Toilets were a bit too small. Toilet seat isn't easy to use for a heavier person. It's too close to the wall. Also the hotel is located up the hill so it's not easy to reach it if you have some heavy luggage and children. Although it's just 5 mins from the bus station but the incline is hard to manage with luggage.
