Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. They go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. Food is of very good standard. I had Sunday roast dinner. Quality and quantity were excellent. A light meal in evening and a superb Scrambled egg and bacon. Best scrambled egg ever and extra thick bacon. Room and bedding etc very clean and well stocked tea/coffee. Lovely old building - maintained well on the whole.
View from room wasn't too good looking out onto unused empty building - bit spooky looking. Closed my curtains ASAP so didn't have to see it. Appreciate that it's got very old history etc but maybe Windows could be boarded and some bright or historical art work.

Pleasant comfortable rooms. Old quirky pub with wooden beams and slanted floor boards. Rooms were lovely and clean. Tea/coffee facilities. Hotel provided shower Gel. Friendly staff. We needed to borrow an iPhone charger during our stay as our child had forgotten his, and they were happy to oblige. My son and I are coeliacs. Breakfast was nice, and there was gluten-free toast available upon request. Sausages were not gluten-free, but the bacon was lovely. We enjoyed tea at the Eagles chippy next door, which provided gluten-free also, so we had a very happy son who doesn't get to have chippy very often, I cannot comment on the meals provided in the hotel as we didn't eat there. A nice stay, and we would stay again if we were in the local area.

Friendly, attentive staff. Nothing too much trouble. Go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. Quirky 17th century building. Food excellent - I had breakfast, lunch and dinner. Perfectly cooked steak for dinner and breakfast was very generous portion. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Provisions in room were adequate.
The location on a high Street that looks tired and run down especially on a grey rainy day. It didn't inspire me to browse. The property could do with some refurbishments eg windows although it is a Listed building. More variety and healthier options needed on lunch menu in particular

The staff were really friendly, I had a fab view from my window!! The bed was really comfy and I slept well. The breakfast was lovely, limited selection of cereal but still enough to choose from. Cooked breakfast was nice and kept me going for most of the day!
The only thing I was disappointed with was that there wasn’t a shower in my room. There was a shower head attached to the taps which did the trick but I would have preferred an over the bath shower, it would have just made it a bit easier.

Arrived by motorcycle on our Wales tour and found a very large secure garaged parking available to the rear of the property, this gave us a peace of mind at night knowing our motorcycle was out of sight out of mind. This is a really lovely, friendly hotel to stay in. The staff couldn't have looked after us any better - they were all fantastic, Kudos go out to Sean the Manager, he couldn’t have been more helpful. Great food (and plenty of it) at very reasonable prices and drinks were good value too. We loved the comfort of the place, rooms are nice and big and the beds are super comfy, WiFi connection throughout the Hotel and the whole place was very clean. Great choice for the cooked breakfast setting you up for a day of traveling, evening meal provided a great selection of which they did not scrimp on, All the local people were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much effort, We loved the age of the building, so much character, if you want a stay in a historic hotel with great charm you'd find it hard to beat this one! We will definitely be staying there again.
Everything was perfect, nothing to complain about!

Spacious room, very quiet and a comfortable bed. Welsh breakfast was served hot and cooked well. We had a nice evening meal there, steak pie and Balti and dessert of fruit crumble which was good value, the young waitress was very good. Hotel in a nice village that also has some good walks.
Loo was leaking a bit in bathroom but wasn’t a problem for one night, room very cold on arrival but a blow heater soon warmed it up.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Evening dinner was excellent and very well priced. The dining room was well appointed, comfortable and although well filled with other guests and lively conversation noise was not a problem. The menu had provision for Gluten free diet and offered a reasonable choice across the menu. Breakfast was well done and we appreciated the local sourcing of ingredients. The bacon and sausages were excellent. The room was quiet, comfortable (and quaint) which befits a building from 1680, but was in good condition and very clean. The exposed beams added to the historic atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable.

The hotel is an old building with lots of charm and character. One feels it when stepping in, and then feels it more once seeing the wooden beams. Furthermore, walking on the floor you feel the unevenness due to age.
We stayed in room No. 4. the angle of the bed is opposite to ones need due to the uneven floor. Will be happy if compensation blocks will be attached to the legs of t he bed.

We really liked the building, room, dining room, bar, etc. They all had a very nice, comfortable feel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
In the restaurant, we felt quite a few of the evening meals contained garlic (one of us likes it, one doesn't!), which cut down the choice somewhat. We would have liked some fruit/nuts/yoghurt for breakfast. Otherwise, everything we had was very good.

Very friendly and helpful staff on our arrival and throughout our stay. It is an interesting historic building and our room was spacious, everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed a great evening meal and a good breakfast. The hotel is in a well placed for exploring the area.
Not a problem as such but the shower was a bit quirky but when we got is going it was just fine.
