Friendliness of staff. Comfortable beds nice bathroom. Given upgrade free. Lovely bar area with open fire, good range of malt whisky . Fantastic bath with very hot water. Extra heater. Room lovely and warm, good variety of breakfast. Great size of room. The good points far outweigh the poor points.

No spare blanket, no hand soap, however we were given this when asked at reception. Water bottle not filled. Tea coffee facility very basic. Window was streaky when sun shone in first thing in the morning. Furniture a little tired but I don't mind this as it's good quality and has character.

This is a lovely traditional Scottish hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive. A very nice feel. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal and breakfast in the morning couldn't be faulted. A very comfortable room. Would certainly stay again if we visit Oban in the future. There is a great train service with the station just behind the hotel- Conel- Ferry stop on the Glasgow line or an excellent bus service from Conel- village shop into Oban. The taxi was only £15.

My husband tells me the toilet seat doesn't stay up when he was using it.

It's a while since I've stayed somewhere built as a hotel in the 19th century, so it's a bit different from the uniformity of a modern hotel. There's nothing obvious that I would say could be improved, but I'd reserve a 10 for somewhere that really surprised me. There is an extensive garden over the road, available to residents, with a couple of unusual trees. It was friendly place.

My room had a shared shower at the other end of the corridor (basin and toilet only en-suite). I was aware of this when I booked.

Location. The room. Cleanliness of whole hotel. All the other staff. Reception, polite cheery and informative. House keeping, were extra by asking how was room, bed, even the temperature of the room ok for us. Especially lady serving breakfast on Tuesday morning, was exceptional.

The 2 serving breakfast staff on the Wednesday morning. They were polite. I received my hot food order while I was still eating my yoghurt. She just stood with the plate beside me until I finished. Then we never saw them again. No direction on where the coffee or cold buffet was located. We were served the coffee on Tuesday morning, self service Wednesday, which wasn't out with our capabilities but had to ask for milk for the coffee.

Was such a fantastic hotel with really lovely, friendly staff, Our room was upgraded so we could have extra space which we thought was great and we really appreciated the suite we was given it was perfect for us with a toddler as he still had space to play in the room etc. He also loved the bath. Thanks so much again for this. Breakfast was lovely too. staff listened to requests and we got what we asked for. We would 110% come back here if visiting oban again, beautiful hotel with beautiful surrounding areas, beds was comfy too, probs one of the most comfortable hotelbeds we have stayed in.. Honestly couldnt fault this hotel and highly reccomend to all.

Nothing we didnt like here it was a perfect stay.

The hotel is steeped in history, not only from when it was built in 1886 but the time it has spent in the hands of the same family. The collection of pictures, ornaments and 'period' furniture in the original public areas of the main building added to the charm and charisma of the place. The single room I had was comfortable and more than met my needs. My evening meal in the Bistro bar was very good with excellent service and attentiveness from the waiting staff.

Nothing .

Staff were very friendly and the food was very nice.

Breakfast got a bit hectic one morning. When I arrived in the dinning hall a member of staff greeted me and asked my room number, I gave her my room number and then sat for twenty minutes before she realised I was there and came to take my order. She did apologise for the wait. This is not really a complaint more of an observation as it is quite a busy hotel.

Falls of Lora is an older hotel in a beautiful location. There were some things about our room that were dated, but overall the room was pretty clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom could use some updating - it did have hairdryer and amenities we needed. Our room had a slight view of the water, but it would have helped to have the window cleaned for the view. Staff were all business- the check in staff were efficient and the morning breakfast staff were helpful, yet they all treated it like a job and were not especially friendly. It was easy to drive into Oban from the hotel - very direct and a short ways away. The best part of our stay was having dinner in the hotel bistro. The food was exceptional and plates were large. We ate there both nights since the food was so good!

The hotel could use some updating. We did have to carry our suitcases up to the upper floor. We saw a couple of people slip on the stairs, so we worked hard to be very careful- especially when carrying things up and down the stairs.

Everything about this hotel is excellent. Lovely tradional decor. Very friendly and super efficient staff. Our room was spotless and extremely comfortable. It's about a 5 minute drive into Oben town. We enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant, and I have to say the steak and ale pie that we both thoroughly enjoyed was the best we've ever had!! hats off to the chef. The staff were all quite young, dont let that be a judgement, they were the most efficient, attentive and polite team I've ever seen and there an asset to this hotel, an extra shout out to Finley, he was absolutely fabulous with the service he gave us. The breakfast was lovely and you had lots of choice and again great service. We would highly recommend a stay here.
