The location, the staff, the shower and the cleanliness, all 10/10

The room was less than in photos, and some obvious amenities were missing (like reading lights above the bed, a mini fridge). Also, the exterior of the hotel is really off-putting, and the lounge area is not really nice, seems like a conference hotel area. The breakfast had a wide selection, but several items were low quality. Most of the fruit for example was too old to eat, coffee was cheap instant coffee etc. It felt like most of the items were purchased and put together there, rather than cooked in-house. To give this hotel a 9 or 10 overall for the price we paid (105 gbp for the room with sea view and breakfast), there needs to be some improvement in both the common areas, the room(s) and the breakfast.

the staff were efficient and friendly refurb has been done to a good standard and the public areas are bright and comfortable food at dinner and breakfast was nicely cooked with a good choice of items bedroom and bathroom were nicely decorated with crisp white linen and big soft towels lovely view of the harbour and within easy walking to the shops etc the hotel has no parking but the public carpark is only across the road and free between 6pm and 9am weekdays or 1pm on sunday super large bed

only one chair in bedroom no where near a mirror to plug in hairdryer hotel bar closed at 9.30pm on a Saturday night

Staff at reception were very pleasant. Perfect location 8mmand nice view of the bay from room. Didn't use restaurant or bar so can't comment.

For a hotel that has recently been refurbished an otherwise clean room was let down by unfinished paintwork on ceiling, paint splatters on shower room floor with gapping between floor and skirting no latch plate on shower room door facing also could do with a shelf for toiletries. Meant to be dual shower heads but only one fixed head fitted, couldn't get water to start with because push button on shower very firm had to be pushed in with force but when working was fine. Room uncomfortably warm and stuffy at times, choice between no air in room or outside noise, too heavy a quilt on bed and pillows too thick although bed was big and comfortable. Wifi affecting digital tv performance and internet at times.

We loved this hotel. Rooms are beautiful, all refurbished and clean. We had a sea view room and we have seen the ships passing by from our window which was quite nice. Breakfast was great, there was a great selection of different things and everything was tasty. What we also really liked was the staff. Everyone we met there was just super nice they were always making sure we are feeling welcomed. Breakfast staff and reception staff in particular. Thank you we had a great time and would definitely return 🙂

Lovely room with a very comfortable king-sized bed.. Great shower with plenty of room. Great food. Very friendly staff. Lovely decor. The reception, bar & dinning areas are lovely and very clean. Great location with nice views from front of the hotel.

Although this hotel has been refurbished some work has still to be done. A little more care from some of the tradesmen wouldn't go a miss. Toilet seat fixed to fit the toilet. Old flaking paint scraped off & repainted. This is not a complaint merely an observation as the majority of the hotel is very impressive.

Breakfast was great, amount of items was good but could’ve been a bit more. fab location too! Right by the seafront where there was a lovely view from the front of the hotel. The lady checking us in was lovely as was the one checking us out. It’s obvious there’s been a refurb as the bathroom was super, and the whole place was clean.

Our room was a funny shape - the bed was cramped into the far side of a long triangular room. There was a bit of noise from outside in the corridor too. The windows obviously hadn’t been attended to as they wouldn’t open (very old and painted over poorly)

Hotel has been refurbished with some very lovely touches, with some corridors made to look like passageways on a very expensive yacht. The room was very nice with marble and a huge comfortable bed, breakfast was hot and tasty, staff lovely and very helpful.

Works are still going on, and a little more attention to detail being a must by staff, as not only dangerous, but a real shame to see, especially given the cost of a stay in a suite. The grout was not cleaned in bathroom, grout was missing, shower tray not level and water spills into room, lights flashing on and off, plaster splatters on hall carpets, door trims not finished, dirty window ledges, windows would not open in room 32, outside of hotel needs work, contractors tools left in fire escapes etc etc.

The bed was very , very comfortable. Slept really well. Very quiet throughout the night as well considering the hotel is on the main road. View from the bedroom window was across the loch and superb. Breakfast was delicious and buffet style so you could get as much or as little as you wanted. Staff are very helpful and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We would stay here again.

Although not an issue for us , no parking is available so you need to find a long stay car park and remember to renew the ticket each day. So not really the hotels problem but just something to be aware of .

Very surprised when we entered reception area the recent refurbishment is amazing. 3rd floor room with bay view was perfect .All furnishings new due to recent refurbishment . Spotlessly clean with amazing rainfall shower in bathroom.Breakfast was cooked to order .DIMPS the manager she was very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast staff were excellent.All staff members we met were all too happy to help. In my opinion this hotel is vastly underrated and would recommend anyone visiting Oban to give it a try

Although the hotel is currently under renovation - 2 floors are completed to a very high standard (we were given a feee upgrade also 🙂) at no point during our 2 night stay were we disturbed by any continuing renovation works. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The beds are huge and very comfortable, with bed linen and towels of a high quality. The chef on our 2nd morning came out to chat to us, again very friendly & the breakfast he made us was just fabulous even though it was way too much of what we would normally have, fresh fruit, cooked breakfast, pastries, meats/cheese, juices, tea/coffee. The location is perfect, directly across from the north pier in the centre of town. We will definitely be going back. Thank you, Team Muthu Siobhan Mowat
