Liked the location

Very large room which was fantastic and the view was excellent...Only one heater in a large room which wasn't enough to heat the room.The very large bed was very good and very comfortable.Clean and most enjoyable stay.Didnt like menu in dining room for evening meals.No choice of british food.Didnt serve beer from a pump either only bottled.Staff very very friendly. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice x

The pool and steam sauna are fantastic. The breakfast buffet is very well presented. I am a retired executive chef and I've seldom seen a nicer kitchen anywhere, it's so modern, clean and spiffy. The whole hotel is just a beautiful old place. Staff was extra attentive. The view of the bay is perfect.

The bathtub faucets in our room where next to impossible to turn on and off. My wife had to go to our daughters room to shower. The room heater was not adjustable at all. The tour bus groups completely clean out the breakfast buffet as soon as it opens leaving nothing for hotel guests until it is replenished which takes quite awhile because the hotel is under staffed. Nearly impossible to get a drink at the bar as the desk clerk has to do double duty.

Booking was transferred from the Muthu Alexandra hotel which I had originally booked. Parking was inadequate and I had to park in a local authority space until 9.00 am - which meant we missed breakfast. I also didn't like the hotel making me pay an additional £0.01 using my bank card in order to register my card details with them. Had I been informed in advance, I would not have booked Muthu. I believe this was an unnecessary imposition as well as a security risk.

The view from the window, although expensive, was amazing. Lovely evening meal options at a good price. The pool was nice, changing rooms a bit shabby. Staff were very friendly. The reception area was nice.

Breakfast was not great. Always running out of food, had to wait for more to come. Coffee was very disappointing- not sure if it was instant or just very weak. No plugs beside the bed so charging phone was not so easy. Large (cleaned) stains on carpet- looked like had maybe been bleached. No Oban whisky at the bar.

Location is good. It's a 5 to 10 min stroll to the town centre yet quiet. The check in was speedy. Friendly professional staff. The public areas of the hotel are outstandingly beautiful. The dining area is really very nice with views over the whole of Oban bay. The breakfast was good with lots of choice. Really well cooked. Our ground floor room was spacious and well presented although cold on arrival. Staff immediately brought an extra heater thus solving the problem.

Paying £17.60 for 2x175ml glasses of Malbec wine. The location of our room. The view from the window was awful (room 59) Having to ask for a hair dryer when one should have been in the room. However, one was brought immediately upon being requested.

Hotel was very clean ,apart from toilets near bar,staff very friendly and breakfast excellent,dinner was good ,nice selection but items that were on menu did not come with meal,eg had the curry a few nights said there was chutney on the menu but none was with meal and a few items were missing on my wifes salad .

Sitting having a drink in the lovely bar went to use nearest toilets it was like something from the sixties ,badly needing updated ,cold and unpleasant smell,also waited roughly 45 mins for first part of our meal on our last day.

Room was classical and possibly a little tired, but in keeping with the property and fitting for the hotel location and style. A more modern design would probably not have been appropriate for the style, location and experience. Breakfast was generous and good. The location superb, with great views over the bay to the islands, but slightly away from the town centre so quieter whilst still being within easy walking distance to the town, boats, attractions and restaurants

Whilst lovely, the staff were at times a little out of their depth. Language a cultural challenges made the client staff interaction a little challenging at times, but always happy and good intentioned. The bar staff were not as engaging as they might have been, which I suspect was principally a cultural thing. After being asked to book a late sitting in the restaurant, the service was a little slow, and disjointed i.e. meals ordered and then 10 minutes later the waiter came back to say that certain things we had ordered were not actually available. This happened for the starters and then 20 minutes later for the main courses. Regardless the food was very nice and enjoyed by us all.

Junior suite was excellent - lovely room with wonderful corner 'tower' where we could sit. spectacular views. food was very good and good value - we booked room with dinner and breakfast Lovely welcoming helpful staff. very nice swimming pool and steam room

The radiator did not work and due to terrible weather we were quite chilly in the evening, however the bathroom heated towel rail was very efficient so we left the bathroom door open to warm the room. We told staff the next morning and they said we should have come to them that evening -but we were already in our pyjamas!

This is the second time I have visited this hotel in last few months. Got a lovely twin suit room on the ground floor. Staff always lovely and hotel clean. Easy walking distance to town and car park available. Property is cared for. Has a lovely pool and sauna which is really quite great to use this. Beautiful views.

On the first morning I think a coach had been in and there was only two members of staff. They were rushed off their feet and lots of things not in stock. It was just a shame for them as they were doing their best. We had some ants at food in our room. I thought I had booked breakfast as room was quite expensive but I had to pay additionally for this. Also staff in morning accessing cupboards were quite noisy early on.
