Just outside the train station and facing the port. Lovely hotel, large room with nice amenities, friendly staff, and a hearty breakfast to start your day!

I emailed the hotel to know more about their spa facilities but no one ever got back to me. Only reason I am not giving it 5 stars.

We had a fantastic couple of days here. The reception staff were probably the best we have ever met, so helpful and friendly. In a hotel where parking is an issue due to its location, they offered excellent advice and assistance. The rooms were lovely and well appointed. The breakfasts were amazing as was dinner in the restaurant. The restaurant staff were very attentive and food excellent. The Haddock and chips were the best I've ever had. The view from the front over the harbour is beautiful, and air was quite bracing. The central location is perfect for the own center, distillery and for access to the ferry port only a three minute drive away.

Breakfast was okish but service was a bit patchy, eg You're only asked if you want tea or coffee, you need to ask for toast then ask for butter then ask for milk ! Cold breakfast a bit basic with limited choices, fruit salad was soaked in orange juice which my wife is allergic to, asked for some fruit without orange but never got it yet. In general some staff seemed bored and had a depressed appearance although reacted ok when you asked anything. Maybe needs more staff training to try and really be a four star hotel

Comfortable. Very friendly and helpful receptionist, who instantly sorted a problem with a heated water failure to the shower, affecting our room and others. It was repaired instantly even though it was early evening.This temporary inconvenience was compensated by a complimentary drink with our meal. Gestures like this are important and appreciated. All staff very friendly, including in restaurant and bar. Well motivated staff who clearly enjoyed their work. Lovely place to stay and relax in the evening. Excellent food, and pleasant dining environment. Bedrooms nice and clean and fresh.. We shall stay again when next in Oban. Of ..

Room was lovely and spacious, bed was really comfortable as well. The spa was nice as well, however be careful when booking the complimentary 30 minutes as I hadn’t noticed this was booked as a private 1 hour session which is chargeable, even though I requested the complimentary 30 minutes. Staff were all pleasant and helpful.

Lack of on site parking, understand this is due to location. There is a £10 daily fee for the reserved parking option but this is not highlighted on the message from booking.com

A lovely, comfortable and beautifully furnished hotel. I have to single out the pleasant, helpful and friendly young gentleman at reception. Meeting and greeting is so important for the hotel and for the guest experience.

The negatives for me was having to book breakfast, and even then we were forgotten about for taking our order. The toilets in the public area of the hotel were lacking. Toilets blocked or not flushing and the toilet roll holders aren't the easiest for releasing paper 🍥

Room was lovely and the hotel feels modern but old world at the same time. Breakfast was very good. Hotel is in a perfect location to walk to the little shops nearby. Too bad no parking right at the hotel, but its downtown so it's to be expected.

Personally, I found the bed very uncomfortable, but my partner said it was OK. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell when we arrived in our room, likely the water as it started again when we first turned the shower on. After use, though, it went away.

The hotel is on a super location at the pier in the centre of town. We did not pay extra for the view but their standard room is of good size and comfortable. It had the usual items- tv, coffee machine etc. As it was winter time, their dinner service was not available but their afternoon tea was. We had a drink at their bar/cafe and the whole place is nicely decorated. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was located in the corner side of the hotel so it was a bit dark and a bit noisy with traffic although it was okay as we were not light sleepers and the hotel was located in the centre.

The sole purpose of booking this hotel was for their spa and massage but they did not have a masseur available so all massage treatments were off. Only learned about this after booking and when we phoned to enquire about the services. I did wonder why there were no photos of the spa area - it was definitely just a thermal area without the massage treatments- good size sauna, steam, and foot bath machine.

Breakfast , staff lovely people , but with two nights stay , breakfast is £17 per person per night , first morning there was no black pudding , and no link sausages , a pooR quality square sausage substitute , so I said to the waiter looking forward to my Scottish black pudding tomorrow, the next morning no black pud , no link sausage , no haggis, and horrid fatty streaky bacon instead of back bacon , very disappointed , got the feeling the chef was using up the left overs , not the end of the world , but shortly some one could of popped to the the supermarket or the butchers , and speaking of new licensing laws the pack testing on appliances is well out of date , the iron in the wardrobe cable is perishing , DANGEROUS

Perfect location. Lovely spacious rooms with nice touches like nice highland Co. toiletries plenty towels, robe, slippers. Had TV and Bluetooth speaker. Tea coffees waters all provided. Very clean. Staff on reception, bar and restaurant all very helpful and friendly and a credit to hotel. Food in the BAAB restaurant was excellent.

There was a bad drain smell a few times from bathroom also noticed in downstairs loos but assumed just one of those unavoidable issues when there had been a lot of rain. Wasn’t a huge issue. Steam room out of order. But as the mini spa was complimentary can’t complain. We hadn’t booked treatment in advance and no availability on Saturday but that was our own fault
