The location of The Scot was perfect for exploring Oban, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was spotless, and the room had the usual tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and a wee treat of some Tunnocks teacakes. There was a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, and a fan. The bathroom was modern with a nice big walk in shower, lovely toiletries, and plenty of clean towels. The room also had a nice, big, comfy bed, which allowed a great night's sleep 😴 We opted to have the cooked breakfast, which did not disappoint - it was delicious. There were also plenty of options like cereal, porridge, toast, and pastries. Also had a cracking coffee machine, and the lattes were lovely. Free parking was also a bonus. All in all, we had a lovely stay, and we will be back.

The room was very warm as the towel radiator was on constantly. Our problem though as we didn't realise we could open the windows or find the fan until the next morning 😊

We had a fantastic 5 night stay on the 16th December. We had a double room with a big comfy superking bed, sockets next to bed, plenty of storage, shower was lovely and powerful with plenty of hot water, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel all supplied, fresh big fluffy white towels changed daily. The room was cleaned and replenished every day, with hot chocolate different coffees, tea, milk and 2 marshmallow biscuits, also a couple of bottles of water. The location is brilliant with everything in walking distance. We never had breakfast or used the bar so can’t comment on that. Friendly staff made the stay all that much better.

The only problem was the WiFi wasn’t great, but never spoilt anything for us.

Good location and while not on the sea front, only one street back and within walking distance of everything in the centre of Oban. Good comfortable bar and they have an arrangement with a fabulous restaurant called 'Coast' where we ate and were able to inform us when our table was ready. Decor in the room was nice and bed was comfortable. Fabulous rain shower and free parking at the rear of the hotel.

Room and bathroom were both on the small size though thankfully, the shower cubicle which is the main thing was large. The walls were paper-thin and not much privacy so be quiet! Thought it was on the pricey side for what was on offer.

Lady on the front desk Lorna couldn,t do enough to help us she went above and beyond from leaving the key for us for our room as we thought we would be late but it wasn,t needed in the end down to leaving chocolates and card for the hubster as it was a big birthday : ) although they had skeleton staff because of the time of year everyone of them were helpful and happy : ) Room on 1st floor very clean, warm and cosy but a little noisy as it was at front of building and you could hear morning traffic as they only had secondary glazing due to age of building. No breakfast as refurbing kitchens but a 5min walk took us to plenty of places to choose from. We will deffo be back thank you for a very welcomed couple of days : )

This is a lovely hotel located at the start of a busy street but still quiet easy walk to shops, restaurants & ferry/station. Rooms are a good size bathroom small but functional with a large shower which was good. Tv was also a good size for the room. We did not have breakfast but when passing it looked & smelt nice.good I would use this hotel again if in the area.

They were not serving evening meals so after a long journey on arrival this would have been an advantage & there was no customers in the bar so it felt uncomfortable didn't want to be the only 2 people in. Not enough room to use a chair in front of the mirror to dry hair but just used the bed.

Central hotel with smiley friendly and helpful staff! Rooms had everything you need. Room was clean and newly renovated. Beds were comfortable. Shower room is small but shower worked perfectly. Room had coffee and tea facilities which was good. Location was good one street back from the front esplanade so no view but in a perfect central location to explore the town. Great parking facilities as we know in Oban it can be difficult to find spaces. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on it unfortunately. Definitely would recommend and would return if in area again!

Rooms were a little warm for our liking ( which I imagine is a good thing in winter) but we discovered there was a plug in fan in the room and we could open one of the windows, which helped a lot!

Ailsa went above and beyond in accommodating our request after we had made the booking as we found out that there was no lift in the building and she offered alternative accommodation in an apartment which was suitable for disabled.. member of staff at reception would not allow us to get our accommodation at 1330 . No explanation just a straight abrupt no.i had requested my accommodation for 1500.

Receptionist on at 1330 I felt was rude with just straight no answers to my request to be allowed inn early. No expiation given just repeating no.

This was a great location for a single night. It's a block back from the harbour, so you could start exploring as soon as you stepped outside. There is designated parking at the back of The Scot, which we found to be a rarity at a lot of the places we stayed in Scotland. Whilst above a pub, there was no noise, neither from patrons nor out in the hallways. The owner has gone to great effort renovating the rooms. The bathroom was surprisingly modern, which was a great surprise after staying in a few traditional B&B's. We would absolutely stay here again if we ever come back.

We booked 2 bedroom apartment and it was fabulous. Very clean and spacious. Bathroom was beautiful would have been even more luxurious if it had a free standing bath in it. Toiletries were local and fab. Kitchen facilities were great. Plenty of tea and coffee etc and tea cakes but would have been even better with a coffee machine. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Bathroom was in a bit of an awkward space as you had to pass second bedroom which was open plan to get to it.

Rooms very spacious and comfortable Lovely shower with nice toiletries Great location with lots of parking around the back Lots of places to get something to eat (note the hotels restaurant is not open which is a shame as it looks lovely)

Door from room led to a boiler room or something with lots of building mess on the floor which wouldn't be great if you had young kids...can I suggest you put a lock on the door as its clearly not for guests Can hear the neighbouring guests quite a bit...suggest ear plugs...I had a guest next door who was clearly up at 4 in the morning!
