Nice hotel with great views and excellent staff. Good location that is quiet but not too far from the centre of Oban.

There is a charge to use the pool etc - with the amount you are paying to stay here I would not expect to have to pay to use the pool area aswell. I arrived late at night and left early morning so it was closed anyway but I would have been annoyed if I booked this for a a few days and had to pay extra for this.

I stayed in ocean front suite that was fabulous. The bartender and staff went above and beyond for us. The food was very good, particularly the large seafood platter.

The checkin staff were rude and not helpful. This was particularly true on the second night when they hosted a large function. There was no one to assist with baggege up the stairs. There was no parking. We had wanted to get food in the bar area as we had the night before and they would not allow it due to overcrowding from the event they were hosting. (200 perople). They failed to inform us that we needed to select breakfast time, and also we needed to reserve a table if we wanted to sit facing the ocean. The bar staff was amazing and went above and beyond. Same with the restaurant staff.

We were thankful to have been upgraded to a bay view junior suite #25. The room was very nicely furnished with great views of the bay both from the room as well as the very spacious open concept bathroom. Overall, we had a nice experience at the property.

As lovely as all the furnishings and amenities were, there were a few things that we felt could be improved upon. The mattress had indents on each side revealing that perhaps it’s time to be flipped or replaced. It’s great that a hair dryer is provided but the mirror is on the opposite wall over the luggage stand. It’s great that the bathroom mirror has an anti-fogging feature and is centered on the wall which is aesthetically pleasing but is askew from the sink. It’s also a little high for a shorter person. It would also be nicer to be able to dim the lights for a more relaxing experience soaking in the fabulous tub. The Grill's dinner ambience should be a little dimmer for a cozier atmosphere. We didn’t feel that the service although adequate, was at the level of a 4-star property.

Oban Bay Hotel exceeded all expectations. Beautiful, comfortable surroundings- elegantly Scottish without being tacky in any way. Whole place smelt amazing too - noticed as soon as we stepped in. The room was lovely - some beautiful extra touches and I liked the use of quality Scottish toiletries and products. The staff were an absolute delight in their entirety - nothing was a bother. Food absolutely delicious, had dinner in the conservatory looking out on the water and best breakfast menu I’ve seen in a long time. Will be back with haste !

Our room was very comfortable, and nicely equipped. We had a fantastic view from the front of the hotel over the harbour and bay to the islands. Breakfast was very nice, and the staff were all really helpful and friendly. We were lucky to get a time slot for the Spa facilities, so we had access to the sauna, outdoor hot-tub and other things just for ourselves late in the evening which was fun and relaxing after a days riding. We were lucky to arrive and get a space at the back of the hotel for our motorbike. There is parking available, but not loads.

Breakfast lovely, had full scottish and best I have had yet. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely tea/coffee and chocolate biscuits in room. Beautiful view of the bay whilst sat in the bar. My only issue was check out 11 am. We went for walk into Oban, still had our key. Came back before 11 to find room all cleaned and prepared for next guests. Good job we left room at 11 am, as we found it !

Was nothing to improve for us. Did see one lady sat at breakfast on her own in a corner. Staff seem to forget she was there and served others first who came in after her. Did not get offered cereal before breakfast. But was very tasty anyway.

Location. The view from the enclosed conservatory is picturesque & exceptional. Room size - really good. We especially loved the complementary biscuits which went down a treat with the tea & coffee👍👏👏👏 Grill room - breakfast & evening meal menu were very good & great value. Very attentive staff - no request went unanswered.

Access to allocated rooms. Although there is a lift, to reach it you have to climb several groups of stairs which proved a challenge for my elderly mother who has balance and breathing issues.

I thought the location was perfect for me. The staff were all very kind, helpful and professional. ( apart from one). In fact they went above a beyond to help me when the taxi I'd ordered didn't come and a member of staff drove me to Dunstaffnage so I didn't miss my boat.

The reception person I asked to book a taxi for me not only didn't do it, but didn't tell me he'd not done it. It was also the day of the regatta and I'd specifically asked if I needed to allow more time for a taxi and was reassured no, this was not in fact the case. Main menu list, there was a poor choice for dairy and gluten free, I had one evening meal and wanted to ask the chef what he could produce but the lady seemed to block this idea. It was a busy night.

We liked the traditional stone building and ambience as we arrived as it was lit with fairy lights and the finder story looked really cosy. The highlight was the warm welcome we received from the gentleman on reception. He is a rare find, someone who is professional yet very human and warm, sorted out our check in seamlessly and gave us some great tips for our convenience and stay. Just so rare to find this these days as many of the young ones are so wooden and scripted. I’m Scottish and currently live in Perthshire. You won’t find that warm welcome anywhere in Perth!

I guess the parking was limited and the breakfast extortionate do we didn’t have it. A couple of pieces of fur tire need upgraded but the bathroom was great and bed really comfy.

We booked an overnight stay with our two french bulldogs to celebrate a birthday, the staff went over and above to make it special. Upon arrival the staff had left complimentary birthday cakes in our room and at our dinner reservation we were given a glass of complimentary prosecco. The staff made such a fuss over the dogs spoiling them with regular biscuits and freshly cooked sausages at breakfast. The hotel itself was in a stunning location with spectacular views of the water. We will most definitely return. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Oban Bay!
