A late train meant I'd missed the connecting ferry to Mull so this was a welcome, comfortable, convenient contingency. I didn't see much of the hotel (late in, early out) so the room was the hotel's sole ambassador.

Hotels at prices of around £250prpn, should be faultless. Check-in was OK rather than chatty. The room was...snug - one of the smallest I've stayed in, with the bed up against two walls and a window (the fire drill plan implies the room size was not unusual). No desk. An unusually good array of refreshments, though the tea caddy was empty (they did top it up when asked). The a/c wasn't working - display indicated flat battery in the controller? - so I had to climb over the bed to open the (very stiff) sash window overlooking the yard. I left at 0630 but no-one there to issue a business receipted invoice (not 24 hour front desk?)

I really liked that the hotel had all the amenities and comfort of a large luxury hotel but the friendliness and personality of a small boutique hotel. Excellent food and the bar overlooking the bay and islands was a wonderful place to sit and relax. I got a massage which left me completely rested and rejuvenated and was worth every penny. Took my large black dog who was welcome and accommodated. I would love to return.

There was only valet parking but I was able to drop off my bags and then move my car. The carpark around the corner was safe, free, and a minute's walk away. The only downside was a large number of argumentative American tourists who rather disrupted the peace.

Great room, very comfi and clean. Very good restaurant we ve had our best meal in scotland there! Breakfast was delicious too the chef and his team’s cooking skills are bang on and the menu was fab especially the signature dishes. All the front of house team was great we had a comfortable stay, the dog welcome pack was a lovely addition much appreciated and made the additional £20 we’ve paid for her stay easier to digest. As the breakfasts were included it made it good value for money we would come back and highly recommend it.

Nothing all was great, if I must feedback on something to help improvement it would be that a bit of soft furnishing and decor (cushions, curtains to hide the car park, rugs, fresh plants or herbs or flowers, candles etc…) would bring the restaurant to the next level of comfort and coziness. In addition, I would advise that the reception team should inform at check in that the room numbers are on the floor especially when there are no lights due to a planned fire check operation :)

Location superb. Breakfast great choice. Lounge area lovely. Rooms little small but comfy and clean. Bar staff helpful. Front desk staff helpful. Super views from lounges. Excellent stocked bar. Only complaint was that the dinner menu was limited. We had filled steak one night and Mmm very good. 3rd night I ordered shrimp skewers and they were chewy and whatever they cooked the mushrooms in gave them a bad taste I sent them back and would have sent the shrimp skewers back except my 89year old was getting a bit embarrassed. Chefs fault I guess.

The menu in grill room , as above

beautiful location and views, comfy beds and nice touch of having blankets and big chairs available in dining area, the staff were really friendly and helpful, a few training staff so be patient with them bless them

Food and drinks a bit pricey, cost me and my partner nearly £65 for two days worth of breakfast. loads of training staff so got a bit stressy in the dining room for them at times, impacted the service a bit. Dinner there wasn’t great, and paid over £80 for an overpriced meal. But this isn’t a big issue, loads of other places to eat around Oban that are lovely! may seem like a small issue but for people who may not be travelling as a couple, the lack of toilet brush can be embarrassing, also the window didn’t open to air the room out.

They stored our luggage for a week even though we only stayed with them for a night. They also charged our room from a double to a twin so that my friend/coworker and I didn't have to share a bed. The staff also called a taxi for us in the morning which was a big help! The beds were extremely comfortable. The shower was the largest shower we've used in the UK in a hotel thus far which was amazing! They had the option for two shower heads too! The soaps and lotions were locally sourced and had a great scent that didn't linger and cause headaches. We would stay there again!

Accessing the lift required navigating through the spa and up small flights of steps that led us through a maze of hallways. It was cumbersome and awkward but we are grateful they had a lift!

I was there with Canadian relatives. Cant fault the hotel itself. It was beautiful and view from the bar area was gorgeous. The only negative was that i was very suddenly wakened in early hours of the morning with the fire alarm going off very loudly in my room and I couldnt get back to sleep. When i spoke to my canadian relatives in the morning they said they got such a fright, as they had recently been evacuated from their homes due to forrest fires in canada and this brought it all back to them. Not the best memory to have. On saying that, as i said, hotel was lovely.

Staff were excellent; helpful and friendly. genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. The public facilities are lovely, with wonderful views over the harbour and bay. Dinner in that area as the sun went down was a memorable experience. Breakfast was very good, and again the staff were very obliging in their easy agreement to mixing menu items etc. Comfortable bed and good reading lamps.

Room was a bit small, although this was probably dictated somewhat by the age of the stone building. Bathroom also small, and although the rainhead shower was good, everything got wet.

Hotel was an amazing location - the check in process was great - there was a car park which we pre booked - it is secure enough as its behind the local church - maybe a 4 minute walk from the Oban Hotel. - the reception staff were very kind and welcoming - our room was lovely whilst at the back of the property it had an opening window and it was light. - its a short walk along the portside to town - breakfast was great - sometimes you will be asked what time you want breakfast as they have big tour groups in and they need to advise what time is best - the bar was very busy - the view out amazing - and the food from the restaurant which we could have whilst we sat in the bar looking at the view rather than dinining in the breakfast room was ideal. It was very quiet.

Could have been a bit more room for unloading and loading your car - the stairs a bit tricky at front of hotel - and we could have been advised to enter through the back area where closer to our room would have made it a bit simpler - a ramp would be good rather than stairs when having big suitcases. Also someone had parked right across where people were trying to check in as the set down area - and didnt move it very incosiderate and selfish.
