The spa was fantastic, clean and relaxing. The dinner on our last night was also lovely, the duck and the pork chop were especially delicious. We loved the cocktails and couldn’t have been happier with the overall service and facilities (bar the breakfast which is detailed below) We would book a wellness room again

Unfortunately, even at £25pp (discounted rate) the breakfast was not worth the money and my partner ordered the fruit bowl for starters and ended up receiving a mouldy blueberry and it was clear the fruit was prepared and stored in the fridge in advance of being served. The breakfast portion was tiny for the cost as well. Despite recommending Boringdon and we would come back again, we will not be paying for the breakfast or recommending this. In addition, our room came with 2 decaf bags of coffee which were beyond their best before date (may 23)

The spa was much better than others we have tried. Not massive but enough to spend the two days and enjoy ourselves. We had some treatments and my hot stone massage was immense - best spa massage I’ve ever had (I prefer firm pressure and most are a bit soft for my liking). All in a beautiful building set in a stunning location.

The food prices were outlandish. All the food we had tasted good but - given that we’d paid a decent amount to stay at the hotel - it felt like gouging to charge so much for the bar snacks. And, as much as the room was a good size and comfortable, it was one of the only hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in to not have a kettle and tea/coffee. Didn’t have a massive impact on our stay but slightly jaded it

Everything from arriving to leaving was exceptional, all staff were friendly & helpful. We stayed in a wellness room which was clean fresh & well situated for the spa. The spa itself was lovely especially the steam rooms, my wife had her nails done & liked being given the bottle of polish incase of any accidents, lol. We both enjoyed dining in the restaurant especially as my wife is a vegan. Overall a great weekend away

My only niggle is the breakfast, i had the full english the first morning & didnt really think it was good value for money, 2nd morning i had the eggs benadict which was well worth it. I would suggest putting toast & butter on the menu especially with the full english

Beautiful building and surroundings, spa was exceptional with lovely towels, robes and flip flops each day. Showers and changing areas were clean and comfortable with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and moisturiser to use. Lovely sauna's and steam rooms, warm pool, bubble pool and spacious out door seating area. Gym is well equipped, lots of kit and cool towels for after a session. Monday morning Yoga session was also lovely and friendly instructor. We booked an economy room which was stunning, clean, comfortable with lots of teas, coffee and biscuits each day. Breakfast was good and they catered well for me as I'm coeliac gluten free. Still plenty of choices. Would definitely go again.

Bacon at breakfast a little dry and cooked breakfast a little small but still very tasty. Apparently the men's changing area is a little small compared to ladies.

Lovely hotel surroundings, great spa, staff and room decor was nice.

Floor could have been hovered better in room, a clump of previous occupants hair got stuck to my sock. Matress could do with replacing too, kept on feeling a spring. Breakfast service was slow and a bit innitentive (had to ask for milk to have with my filter coffee, our first course of breakfast seemed to have been forgotten about) food was nice but got a bit put off when I could taste orange juice towards the end on my poached egg (neither of us were drinking this) so can only assume it spilt from a cup which was maybe sitting above the food in the kitchen?

The hotel is just absolutely stunning, so clean, not a single point did I see anything that looked less than perfect. Out of any hotel I've been to, this has been by far my favourite. The room was gorgeous, in pristine condition and I loved every second in it. The bed was huge and so comfy, a lovely bath in the room and a decent sized terrace with complete privacy to sit and soak up the sun.

Honestly, not much! There could have been slightly more direction signs and things in the building to show you where to go, but that's just nit picking. The only other thing which is completely out of the hotel's control is the road to get there if coming from Tavistock direction is very rural and narrow, but getting there from the south couldn't be easier so access is still easy if researched beforehand (I was far too trusting in Google maps!)

The rooms and facilities were of a really high standard. It all felt very clean and well kept. The spa was beautiful. The towels were thick and soft and the shower was powerful. We would definitely return to enjoy the room and spa.

The spa was very busy which made it harder to relax. The food in the restaurant was expensive for what it was. We don’t mind paying more but it didn’t feel like it quite matched up to the standard we were expecting. The waiting staff needed to be more attentive as well in order to match the surroundings and price paid. There was a service charged added to an already very expensive dinner but there was very little service.

The atmosphere was magical, the staff was great, working their best to ensure a high-end stay while being friendly and caring We had a courtyard room, the room itself was rather nice. They accomidated our dog beautifully, even seating us elsewhere for breakfast so we could be together, giving us a bed, treats, breakfast and toys for the dog. The hotel accessible pool had a range or amenities, there was aromatherapy, steam rooms, sauna, various pools and jacuzzi's inside and outside, though these were not mentioned to us anywhere. I had to continuously inquire for the pool and i only found out about the rest there. Gorgeous decor, nice surrounding area.

We reserved breakfast in advance, received it An Hour Late and Cold. Difficulties getting information from the staff about available services, or where most things were, even when asked No welcome upon arrival, had figure out where to go to even check in Possible problems with shower/bath

Friendly staff, especially in the spa area, great swimming pool, steam and sauna rooms. Great atmosphere and facilities.

Very noisy, woken up by builders on site at 0730 hrs, only advised of major building works after I had paid in full with no cancellation option available, no facilities to check in early, 1500 hrs is very late, especially when you pay £350 for a one night stay. Suggest your premium suites should have an earlier check in time. Reception staff not answering emails, limited and expensive menu in mayflower restaurant. The room fridge bar is very expensive, £14 for a small tube of pringles and a bag of popcorn is excessive.

We loved the spa facilities , the bar had a really good list & the staff were extremely polite and helpful . Our room was lovely , the only downside was it got quite stuffy even with the windows open and the bath tap dripped. The property was extremely clean and served our needs well. We had no need to leave the property as we dined and had brunch & afternoon tea. It might have been nice to have some live piano music playing in the bar area. All in all, very successful birthday celebration though!
