This was our second stay here, and it was as we'd remembered it - a scenic location (handy for PlymValley parkrun), friendly staff, a smart but relaxed and comfortable hotel. I used the leisure facilities - there's a nice view into the grounds from the gym, and the swimming pool is a decent size. We had a pleasant bar meal in the evening.

It was disappointing that both the jacuzzi and sauna were out of action for our visit, as the leisure facilities were a big factor in choosing this hotel. We asked about a late check-out of 1 hour later, but the price was too high to make it worth it.

Beautiful location with stunning views of the surrounding golf course . A warm welcome . Breakfast/table service on first morning felt like a real treat.

No wi-fi available in our room which was an issue for my husband. Clean room , but bathroom needs updating. Dog friendly room so felt quite basic with the laminate floors. No sofa in a very large room , only chairs. Mattress very firm , not to my liking. Noisy in corridors second evening. Breakfast was self service due to a large party on the second morning and was very busy. Not so relaxed start to the day and had booked a late checkout but decided to leave early .

Staff were LOVELY! Our bedroom was just perfect overlooking the grounds (deer!), beautiful room with quality and simplicity as a winning combination. The grounds and space to walk the dogs. The parking was easy for the car. Food was lovely. LOVED the free access to the pool, sauna and jacuzzi (thank you so much).

The acoustics in the dining room were too much and it was hot because of the volume of people there for breakfast, so my colleague did not wish to eat there. This was sad as I very much liked the idea of having a formal sit down dinner. We did manage to have breakfast the following morning in the conservatory, which was a little quieter, and cooler because of the doors being opened to the garden. Would have appreciated a hook on the back of the door for a dressing gown? Coat, although get there was a wardrobe.

Amazing hotel. Rooms are big enough, clean, bathroom exceptional with shower and bath. Provided with all necessary for a comfortable stance, kettle, coffee, tea, milk, warm and cosy. Bed was bigger that I've ever seen. Swimming pool, hot tube, sauna, steam bath, was perfect. Changing rooms clean and with lockers to lock all your staff. Water temperature was perfect, and swimming pool was clean. Food is amazing, and breakfast was wonderful. Definetly a place I would recommend to everyone that is on that area. Staff very friendly, approachable, and welcoming. Loved this hotel.

No cooked food from 20.15 (kitchen is closed) Access road is narrow and with some pot holes. Signs of the accommodation could be a little bit better, but it is not a big issue.

As always a very warm welcome , the room well heated and the receptionist was most helpful , bags carried to the room . Breakfast was great , made to order for me , dinner was top quality , and good choice . The staff were most accommodating . plenty of parking and in a lovely country setting . Also can get Classic FM on the TV !

No newspapers delivered , which is my only negative - but plenty of shops a few miles down the country road . Beware the country roads are quite narrow in places .

On arrival the staff were very efficient and helpful. The room was of a good size and very clean, the beds were very comfortable. The bar area was very good with a reasonable choice of food on the Bar Menu. The restaurant food was of good quality, but has a very limited menu, would be better if they offered to bar menu in addition. The waiting staff were excellent and again could not do enough for you. The Hotel has a Spa/Poole area which had a great steam room, sauna and pool.

The menu in the restaurant was very limited and could be improved, apparently stays the same for ever, needs a better choice.

Location super! Beautiful hotel about 5 mins outside Plymouth but you feel like you're right out in the countryside! Fantastic location to visit Dartmoor. Staff excellent, went above and beyond for us... Given a lovely, warm welcome whenever we arrived. Our room, 25, was very nice, Premier double room.. lovely super king bed, lovely fireplace, blackout curtains and nice big bathroom. The room was in a really quiet location. Room looked out onto the immaculately tended garden/golf course. Decor throughout the hotel is lovely. Brasserie meals delicious, very reasonably priced and well presented. Had High tea too, again delicious. Nice, quiet lounge area and the hotel had a lift.

The breakfast staff were really lovely and gave us a very warm welcome each morning but sadly the only thing that we felt let down by was the breakfast. I expected a prepared fresh fruit bowl of perhaps grapefruit/prepared mixed berries but instead there was a bowl with pear halves. There was, to be fair, a bowl of fresh fruit like bananas, apples etc but I suppose it's personal preference. Just, at other hotels we have stayed in at this level or above, we've had more choice. It did have good selection of cereals/juices/pastries. I'd say it's something that could be improved on. We were very disappointed with the quality of the cooked breakfasts... Seemed to be tinned, tasteless mushrooms. The breakfasts were cooked properly just felt not the best quality ingredients.

Well kept hotel and pool area. Parking a bonus but out of town through some country lanes. Onsite golf course. Peaceful location not far from A38. Large bed in room as well as a single.

Breakfast, although good, could have been better for the quality of the hotel. Rooms were clean with old quality decor and spacious, but a little dated. Overall, it was a good experience, and we would return. There is no air conditioning, but there is a backup heater available in the room.

I arrived late at night for one night only. Martina on Reception was particularly warm & helpful, both on the phone, & when I sought her out to say hello prior to my leaving, & to extend my gratitude. Sam on Reception was also helpful, checking information on my behalf. Beautiful hotel & grounds. Would love to return & sample the food & facilities! The lunches served on the terrace looked fab.... One day! 😋 I would love to be able to spend a couple of days here, sampling what Elfordleigh Hotel & Resort has to offer.

Everything the food excellent had a family room huge, warm room ,windows to two sides looking out on the the grounds and golf course. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff the spa facilities excellent did not have time for treatments locally good walk in the woods . The hotel is dog friendly jars of treats every where and a complementary sausage each breakfast time . Will be going again
