The room was ideal for a hotel stay, with all the amenities and provision you would expect. Warm and comfortable, with seating as well as the bed, and plenty of surfaces and storage to use. What makes this hotel better than average is the excellent staff team, who really and effortlessly make guests feel welcome, well looked after and special.

The level access wasn't open when I arrived, which meant I had to travel around the building and climb the stairs to register; but I understood this was for security reasons. However, if there was an easy and obvious way for disabled persons to alert the reception they needed to be let in, that would be better. I'm sure had I asked before hand the way to use this access would have been explained, and next time I will ask in advance.

Location The lady restaurant manager (Mairita) was very efficient, welcoming and friendly. An asset to the hotel!

Terrible noise in room 401 from 6am to 11pm. No sockets by the beds, antiquated furniture, the so called “free” minibar of two bottles of water and two cans of coke was quite sad in comparison to free minibars in comparable hotels elsewhere. Drinks weren’t replenished. Regarding breakfast. There seemed to be plenty of warm dishes for very few guests . I suspect that a lot of the food goes to waste. Perhaps at times where there are few guests it would be more cost effective to provide a la carte hot breakfasts rather than buffet. It’s not nice to have to peel back a dry skin from the top of a fried egg.

The staff were amazing, very polite, professional and helpful. We attended the New Years Eve dinner and dance, which was brilliant, the organisation, food, staff and the DJ were absolutely fantastic, we thoroughly enjoyed bringing in 2025 with yourselves. The breakfast was also very nice, the staff were very good and friendly.

Unfortunately, around 23:00 the tables were cleared of glasses, party poppers and party snappers, so when midnight did come around there was nothing to toast 2025 with and no party poppers. It was a really lovely idea to serve everyone with a glass of something on arrival, but I think it would have been a nicer touch if this was served for the bells at midnight, and the party poppers left on the tables. I understand that the staff would like to spend the New Year with their families, but the function room was not being used for breakfast, so this could have been cleared away in the morning. Other than that we had a brilliant night.

Room was lovely and clean with good facilities, we were very close to entrance (which was good for us) and didnt hear any noise out of the ordinary. bed comfy and had a god nights sleep. Very close to the caffeine club which is a brilliant place just a 5 mins walk. very close to the train station as well. the restaurant is a very high standard and the breakfast is amazing with so much choice. simply stunning array and pulled off very well by the staff in attendance. will be back when in the area as serviced all our needs.

wish i could stay longer and wish the windows opened more, i get why, it limits rational adults but like i said i get why i just would have liked them to open more. Didnt detract from the stay though.

The hotel is within easy reach of both the main Plymouth North Road railway station and the city centre. The room includes both a fan and a mini-fridge as well as all the other items one expects ,such as a hair-dryer,etc. The view from the window is of the city all the way to the Hoe in the distance. A full English breakfast is served by friendly staff, eager to please. Checking in and out is simple and hassle free.

A box of tissues in the room would be helpful. Armada Way has been ruined by Plymouth City Council but this is not the fault of the hotel. I mention this as it lowers the tone of the area for tourists like myself.

Room, whilst not huge, was comfortably furnished and bathroom was spacious. We appreciated the ceiling fan, so we could keep windows closed and traffic noise out. Beds were very comfortable. As I fast in the mornings, I didn’t take breakfast but my sons really enjoyed the vast selection at the buffet, including freshly made pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. In particular I was very pleased to see fresh fruit and fresh fruit salad available and grateful for the complimentary tea I was kindly offered by the lovely lady running the morning service. Children’s breakfast was good value and set the boys up well for a long day of competitive sailing on the Sound. Parking in Sainsbury’s was reasonably priced and very convenient - my van was parked right by the back door to the restaurant!

Whilst this is not a hotel I would choose for its atmosphere or charm, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the facilities were perfectly suited to our needs. The city centre location lacks a good view but is convenient for some. The only addition I would particularly welcome would be USB sockets in the room and a well-lit magnifying mirror in the bathroom. Trying to apply makeup without magnification for those of us who are far-sighted (most people over 50!), is very difficult, as of course we have to remove our glasses, and very few hotels address this need, which is real pity.

Although the room was dated in it decor it was very clean, in good condition, well maintained and up together; everything worked and was in excellent order Breakfast was plentiful and great choice for both continental and full English. Special thanks to Mairita who was so lovely welcoming and bright - nothing was too much trouble; she led the team well and kept a close eye on what was happening with the guests comfort, food and the general running of the dining room. I was asked about any special requests so asked if I might have a disabled parking space and when we arrived at the car park a space had been reserved with our name - fantastic! Thank you x

Nothing really that I can think of!

Hotel room was clean, the shampoo and hand/body wash were lovely, tea coffee etc were nice Staff were great very friendly and helpful. Great location for what we wanted Fridge in room too, although I didn't realise until second day! Fan in wardrobe was welcome as was the ironing board

Unfortunately the bed was too small, a normal double bed for a 6ft 4 inch man is just too small even though it was a comfortable bed. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the staff were lovely but I felt it was on the expensive side for what we had. I also think that the tip on the bill (even though it was pointed out to us and we were asked if it was OK) was unnecessary. We would have tipped, I work in the service industry, I just don't think it needs to be put on the bill automatically. Also, house keeping on the both mornings knocking at 9am was a bit too much. If we are staying 2 nights and not booked for breakfast, maybe that means we don't want a knock at 9am.......we should have put the do not disturb sign up maybe?

This hotel is in the centre of Plymouth a short walk from the shopping area and about 5 mins to the Brittany Ferry port which is why we booked it. Yes the bedrooms are a little tired however the staff we met were all great, we actually met and saw the manager Raj who appeared very attentive and professional. We managed to get an underground parking place which for our very full car gave us piece of mind. The public areas are very pleasant, bar, reception and restaurant. We ate supper in the restaurant and it was nicely served and as expected. It is clean, we had plenty of hot water and a powerful shower plus we could open our bedroom window. We will book again. Walking distance to the Hove area.

The bedroom furniture had seen better days!

Room was clean staff were friendly breakfast was good and close to everything

We decided to eat in the restaurant as we arrived later than planned It was not good we believe the menu is well overpriced for frozen food my son ordered a pizza and this looked like a Dr Oeteker frozen pizza so £2 from farm foods and we were charged around £17 he couldn’t eat it as it just wasn’t nice I ordered fish and chips and as we are in a fishing town expected fresh fish to be given the triangle overcooked and again looked like the frozen type my partner said his burger was good though.
