Superior room, very comfortable and clean. Tea, coffee and biscuits replenished daily and plentiful. Hotel in an excellent location to walk up to the Hoe and easy walk into town. Plenty of street maps in the hotel. Breakfast was really good, lots on offer and you can just ask for what you fancy. The staff were very attentative, which set us up nicely for the day.
Water pressure very low. Therefore, showering or running a bath was frustrating. Staff are aware. If you have concerns about your car, parking behind the hotel is limited and quite tight. You can park on the street for an additional cost. Despite this, we would absolutely stay again.

Staff were excellent, bed initially looked a bit tired but was actually very comfortable. Room was clean and well looked after by the housekeeping staff. Location is good - far enough away from town to be quiet, but close enough to be convenient, not a bad walk but it is at the top of a hill so it’s a taxi fare of around £6 each way. Very short walk to the Hoe with its great views. Bar is ok and there are a couple of comfortable guest lounges.
Cooked breakfast was tasty and well cooked but very small, and in my opinion not worth the £12 charged on it’s own, though it can be supplemented by cereal, croissants, toast etc. Loads of stairs in the place with no lift. This is written in the room description but is not immediately obvious, and I missed this when booking. Staff were very helpful and offered to carry bags etc but if you are of restricted mobility this may not be the ideal place for you.

The En-suite was the biggest I have seen, matched the room itself. The hotel was very clean and tidy in all the areas we visited. All the staff were professional and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. There were numerous breakfast options available including an excellent full English. There isn't a restaurant, but there is a bar with light snacks available and there are plenty of eateries in the area. Success, a hotel where the Wifi was brilliant and there are plenty of electrical sockets. The location of the hotel is excellent right in the middle of all the attractions.
It didn't affect our stay, but be aware that there are a lot of stairs in the building, so suggest contacting the hotel before hand to see if you can have a lower level room if you have difficulties with stairs. Some of the furniture was out of modern tastes, but I guess goes with the age of the building and was fully functional.

Located just off The Hoe meant that most of Plymouth was walkable; Barbican, The Hoe, Central Shopping area, we were visiting the University which was a 15 minutes walk Staff were very good, as I booked two rooms I asked if they could be together and they were more than happy to oblige. The rooms were lovely, the one we had a a Psuedo sea view (looking out of our bay window to the left!!) and were both a good size. Breakfast was great, you could help yourself to Cereals and pastries and there was a waitress service for anything cooked. All-in-All a good place to stay.
If I'm nit-picking, parking!! Just be aware that whilst there are spaces around the back of the Hotal there's only around 8 spaces so these will fill up rather quckly. You can try your luck in one of the Car Parks; Barbican or Grand Parade (West Hoe) appear to be closest but these will be a 5-10 minute walk. If there's space you can park on Elliot Street outside or up around the corner on Cliff Street; purchase a permit £10/day from Hotel Reception or put money in one the machines £16.50/day!

The hotel was very clean and comfortable and all members of staff we encountered were very friendly. The breakfast was also very nice. Its in an ideal location only a 5 minute walk to the Theatre and Pavillions and only a stones throw from the Hoe.We didn’t park at the property instead we left the car at the Theatre royal car park which is only £13 for 24 hours and a short stroll from the hotel. We visit Plymouth quite a bit for events at the Theatre Royal and Pavilions and will definitely in future use the Grovesnor for our accommodation.Would definitely recommend
Nothing to dislike

Breakfast .Location. Friendly helpful staff.
We stayed in a standard room which was fine for one night. The room was on the third floor and there were a lot of stairs. We are healthy mid 70 year old s We understand that in a beautiful period property it would not be possible to have a lift. However, it was a bit of a climb and we had only a small overnight bag.The property would not suit everyone for that reason. This is not a criticism but an observation. We will definitely be back!. We will book directly with the hotel In future and not with booking.com

I was traveling for my birthday and meant to be with my partner. I couldn’t make the first night but I called them and they kindly added a day the other side for me. When I entered my room there were balloons and banners for my birthday which I found very touching. I also met the owner who kindly invited me to share food with him and his friends in the breakfast room and he gave me a cake and sang happy birthday to me!! Thank you to al the staff I really enjoyed my stay! What could have been a lonely trip was certainly the opposite!

Very comfortable and friendly hotel situated in a quiet street adjacent to Plymouth Hoe. Spotlessly clean, room equipped with hairdryer, iron/ironing board, kettle with coffee, tea, biscuits and TV. Nice breakfast. It has some private parking but plenty of chargeable parking in front of the hotel. It has no lift , I was on the fifth floor and in my late 70's but found it no problem, in fact it made it even quieter! I frequently visit Plymouth and look forward to staying again.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. Helped my mum up the stairs with her bags and looked after her while I went to my meeting. Breakfast was great for me. Mum found the sausages salty though, but ate everything else. Location was great once I knew where I was going. I stopped to see where my meeting was being held first so that tired out mum making the walk feel longer than it was. Once we knew the walk too and from the station was simple and quick.
Granted, I contacted the hotel in the morning of my afternoon arrival to make an amendment but it wasn't even when I arrived. I had emailed to advise that my mother was joining me. It was last minute but it was not picked up. As such, mum and I shared a single bed which we agreed was fine, but I could not really speak of its comfort as I would not know.

I was attending the plymouth sessions alone and booked a hotel on the hoe so that i was staying nearby with it finishing late at night. The location was ideal for me, my room spotless n comfortable. Your staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful! Thank you so much.
I paid £85 for this room, which was the cheapest i could find and was so grateful to find a room with you at such short notice. The only thing i would say is that, although im sure this is the case with many hotels now, this price was room only which seems a lot of money to pay for just a room without breakfast being included in the price.
