I loved that you could order fresh cooked [perfectly cooked ]poached eggs .my husband was little disappointed with with sausages on this visit as they had very little taste no spices or herbs added We ate twice in the evening in the restaurant was brilliant could not fault food nor service the room 223 was fabulous would have liked to have rebooked same room only it is unavailable for our September visit 😔 we have booked similar room again never yet been disappointed the taff are friendly helpful and curtious in all areas. If only you could order the sun to shine doe our stay please 😂 the hotel looking very smart now and we look forward to our next stay in September this year 😊.

Last time we visited there was an enormous fishy tank in the entrance which did not look good due to the sun being on it all the time [we have be fish keepers for 40 some years Couple massive tanks now small and understand how easy algae builds up. Sad to tank gone be entrance looks so big now

The hotel position is exemplary, the hotel is tired yet spotless and the bedroom was incredibly comfortable. The included buffet breakfast was very decent. 10/10 to the staff - everyone we met from the initial phone call to find out about parking, to the reception desk receiving us, and chambermaids cleaning rooms and breakfast service staff (and chefs!). These people made the hotel sing.

Pricing was significant! The hotel needs a face-lift. There are underused, old-fashioned empty spaces which made the hotel feel a bit vacuous.

The breakfast hot servers don’t match the ‘quality ’. Hotel more like a travel lodge breakfast. Cold food that looked wasted! No international options of meats cheese …. Could have been much better. Staff excellent one feels they almost knew the breakfast was not up to much! The management need to take z hard look at breakfast experience!

Breakfast was varied and good with lots of choice.The location is excellent.This was not our first visit and we return quite regularly,due to the position of the hotel.The staff were very good too.

The only thing that could have been improved was the linen on the bed which appeared to be too small for the size of bed in the room,the bed was remade every morning which was nice,but a larger bottom sheet and a lighter weight duvet for this time of year would have been appreciated.

The location, right on the beach. Our room was very spacious and light, even though it was labelled economy.

The bedding was rather worn and the pillows lumpy. The restaurant was very busy and we had to wait over an hour for our meal which was delicious when it finally came. We complained to the Manager when we checked out the next morning and she was very sympathetic and the matter was resolved to our satisfaction. There were lots of staff in the restaurant but they didn’t seem to know what to do.

Location of the hotel is excellent, bang in the center of Sandbanks and ideally located for traveling out and visiting other locations. The hotel is quite old now, it has a touch of the faded seaside glamour about it, and I get the impression it has not bounced back from the pandemic to its former glories. That said, it is large, airy, comfortable, and we could not fault cleanliness and the facilities given the age of the place. We understand there is some doubt over its future and that of several other hotels in Sandbanks as a "top notch" redevelopment is planned. That in a way would be a shame as it would price most people out of the market, and this is still a great hotel for stay at as it is. It could probably do with a total refit to compete with "top class" establishments, but if you just want a comfortable few days (or longer) at a fab beach resort with lots to see locally, with a decent little Italian restaurant on site, a decent breakfast bar and good service, sizeable rooms with comfy beds and a balcony with fab views to front and back, then this is the place for you. I would not hesitate to recommend. It took me back to holidays of my youth with parents, no bad thing at all.

Nothing really, I really like the Sandbanks Hotel, it suited me and my wife very well. I would recommend getting out on the water, either locally or from Poole, and also visit Brownsea Island which is great for a decent walk. Compton Acres gardens are just up the road and are beautiful. There is also a very decent Rick Stein eatery down the road, can be pricey but there are some modest options available and all top quality.

The choice of breakfast was amazing, if you wanted a special breakfast it was done with a smile.. The young staff were helpful, confident and dealt with the public in a very mature experienced way. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The kitchen staff served an amazing choice of breakfasts, hot, non greasy, tasty and presented beautifully. I cannot fault the dining room staff.

Hotel staff were amazing, checked in then found there were several levels to the corridor with lots of steps. My elderly parents weren't able to negotiate the steps, being in their eighties. The young Spanish lady at reception immediately changed the room and upgraded at the same time. We were so grateful that they had a level walk everywhere. A great location and lovely comfortable set of rooms for both of us. My parents had the best time on our weekend break, and we all enjoyed the breakfast menu. Thank you so much.

Prices for drinks I felt were too high, to be out of one of the less expensive wines and offered more expensive wines only, price of beer at £7 is high. Breakfast was ok but cold on the plate, no options for cheese/ham/salads etc. Steps to Swimming pool narrow, and not friendly to the less mobile, also closed before 7pm I noticed.

The hotel is a lovely quaint place with all the facilities needed for a short break. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel does need some updating. The foam tile ceiling were a concern, fire hazard, and the bathroom wasn’t safe. There’s no point on giving warnings of a slippery bath but giving nothing to prevent slipping. A bath mat or even a handle rail would have been nice. Instead you’re told not to try holding onto the towel rail because it hot! My main gripe was the toiletries provided. The tiny taster bottles were not enough for two people who are likely to shower at least twice on an overnight stay. I’ve not had to take shower gel with me to a hotel in years and didn’t expect to have to use old fashion soap.
