We arrived on a Sunday and just wanted a sandwich for lunch but the restaurant was only doing Sunday lunch we explained that we where eating in the restaurant that night and this was too much and despite the fact that they where only offering a roast they where very happy to make us a sandwich

The hotel is of a reasonable size and in a good location with great views across the harbour with Sandbanks on one side and Poole on the other. The rooms are of a good size with great views depending on the room you book. They are comfortable and clean. The restaurant and bar are nice and the food served is of a high standard which is reflected in the price. The staff are all friendly and make you feel like a valued customer. I would definitely stay here again but maybe during the summer months as it has a lovely outdoor terrace and seating area which in January we didn't get yo try out. I'm sure in the lighter and warmer evenings with the great view it would be a nice spot to sit with a glass of wine.

The rooms are heated via the aircon system and this has a strange habit of making weird noises in the early hours of the morning. The walls between rooms also appear quite thin as sounds from adjoining rooms can be heard quite easily. Early risers can disturb the sleep of those who like to lay in a bit longer. Our stay was for two nights and I was woken at 5.30 on both days.

Really easy to find with such amazing views. We arrived earlier than expected but the staff were amazing at accommodating us. The hotel staff were just brilliant throughout and nothing was a bother. The hotel was warm, clean and tidy, room was bigger than we expected and so comfy! The reception staff were great and this also applied to the bar staff and those in the restaurant. Although busy, they always made you feel welcome, something you dont get at some of the bigger hotel chains. We had dinner in the restaurant (italian menu) and it was superb. Breakfast was also excellent and the staff again going above and beyond to look after you. Plenty of parking and amazing views from the bar. Took the dog along and he loved it to! Would highly recommend this hotel and its staff,Just superb.!

Nothing. Not a single niggle or issue.

The location is excellent. Staff at reception and restaurant/bar very switched on and helpful. Saturday dinner & service were very impressive. Italian menu food was very tasty. Gentleman playing piano was nice addition to the ambiance of the evening. Room we stayed in was very warm and you can easily adjust the temperature which helped with aftermath of a wet walk we endured during storm Bert. The view from the window was absolutely breathtaking, the same can be sad about view from the bar. Breakfast selection was just ok for me, nothing special however my husband did enjoy cooked full English - it was freshly cooked & tasty. If you are not hot breakfast lover like me, continental selection is basic. Other positives- our room had decent hairdryer, ironing board & iron, the power of the shower was very good also.

The room needed updating, the wear & tear is very visible and unsightly - the minute you walk in you can tell it is crying for refurbishment. Even though it was clean, the stains on the bathroom floor and in the carpet cannot be missed therefore takes away from cleaning staff efforts.

The food for breakfast, the Italian and the Chinese was excellent and for the high quality, properly priced. The breakfast manager was not the happiest of people. But his staff were good and attentive. Dinner staff were all good in both restaurants. Our room for 4 nights was lovely 105. We will be back. We have stayed at the Haven and Sandbanks, but feel this is more "us" now.

Almost nothing save the no eye contact, slightly grumpy breakfast manager. Please do not over react to this. He was fine, but just not super welcoming and set to make one comfortable, which the other staff were.

Evening meal and breakfast was very enjoyable , The lovely view over the harbour from the room and restaurant was very good.

There was no hot water in the room when we arrived, one of the bed side lamps did not work correctly, the room was cold although the temperature was set at 21, floor joist / board outside the bathroom was giving away as the carpet dipped every time you walked on it. The Juliet balcony doors did not lock and the room in general was starting to look tired. There is a small crack in the wall underneath the window.

The view is breathtaking in sunny weather, which we had. Wrong menus in the room. Kitchen inflexible if we wanted sandwiches not on the current menu (but were on the room menu). Breakfast was acceptable but limited buffet choice compared to other hotels. Bathroom had bath and shower curtain. Unsafe for my 80 year old wife and me. Expensive room rate, very dear bar drinks and food. No tab: had to pay as we went. Understaffed in my opinion, probably because FJB hotels are planning to pull the hotel down (planning notice outside).

Absolutely beautiful location. Gorgeous room with stunning views. We got married here so knew what to expect anyway. Treated ourselves to a harbour view room with balcony and it was worth it. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant very nice, good portions and value. Lovely being close to the beach, also there is a tesco 5-10 mins walk away which is useful.

Only small complaint was the pillows were a little uncomfortable. Otherwise everything was perfect!

The view from the hotel was amazing, and the decor down in the bar and outside was lovely..the bed was very comfortable and sheets and bedding very clean and white. . Breakfast was very nice too

Could do with up dating the wardrobe and sideboards in the bedrooms. They are adequate but do need updating new materials about other than varnished wood. And lighting as you know works to add extra that touch,, eg bathroom night light around the flooring and back lighting behind the headboard of the bed Also the floor in the bathroom would be better if changed .

Whenever I encounter deep kindness/ humanity, it stops me in my tracks. My daughter who suddenly took ill on d short trip got worse and had to be rushed to A&E about 1am and we returned just before 7am sleep deprived. The staff who let us out was there when we returned asking to make sure she was better. He as well as another staff present understood that we really had not rested and were kind enough to extend our stay till 1pm at no cost. We had to drive 3.5hrs back home so some form of sleep was paramount. They also sent our breakfast up to the room. When we were checking out, the staff at the reception who I’d not met immediately recognised we were the ones with the ill child and asked if she was better, asked if we had enough calpol/ibuprofen for the journey (interestingly I was running low so told her I’d be stopping at the nearby Tesco. None of them had to do any of this, but because of their kindness, we arrived home safely and we r grateful. Thank you thank you!! Whenever we are in the are again, we would be back!
