Our room was spotlessly clean and looked out onto the Forth. The bed was so comfy, and the blackout curtains were great. The whole hotel is beautiful. The staff are all friendly, welcoming, and have excellent customer care & service. Our evening meal was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. There are lots of choices on the menu for evening meal and breakfast, which again was delicious. We will definitely be back.
Nothing at all. The hotel is situated directly under the Forth rail bridge, and my daughter was worried that it'd be too noisy, but the room is so comfy that it doesn't cause any problem.

We had a lovely room with a fantastic view of the three bridges, especially the rail bridge. Breakfast was good with a nice selection from full English (they’re not allowed to say Scottish as it’s an English chain)through to fruit and yogurt. Service was slow on our first morning but good on the other two. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
We had to go looking for milk on our first full day as our supplies had not been topped up, however this was not a problem and a small jug of milk was provided immediately. We found the bed to be a little too hard and uncomfortable but appreciate that is a very personal thing and others may prefer it that way. Whilst we were visiting a cruise ship was also in port and stayed for two days. This caused quite a bit of noise on the first night as passengers and crew were gathering directly opposite our room windows right up to midnight whilst awaiting the tenders to return them to the ship. Not the hotels fault, but annoying just the same.

The property was very clean and the breakfast was superb, being freshly cooked as opposed to lying under heaters for a while. The waiting staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The location for visiting Inchcolm Island was perfect and we were able to walk to the railway station to catch a train in and out of Edinburgh. The historic aspect of the Inn suited my interest in history and we loved the tale of the ghost of Robert Louis Stevenson allegedly haunting this place where he had written "Kidnapped" and it's sequel, "Catriona." Sadly, we never encountered this phantasm!!!
The room needed more storage space for clothes.

The food was amazing. The property is in a vey good location. I would recommend staying here, we stayed 4 nights. First night trains disturbed sleep , but didnt hear after first night but if you are light sleeper you may hear them as bridge trains go over right next to property. . Lots of free parking onsite. Staff really friendly. Amazing breakfast, must try full breakfast and the pulled beef brisket . . Local Bus takes you into Edinburgh if dont want to drive There are a few s hops nearby nice location and easy to get around this area not far to Glasgow, Edinburgh, loch lomond, Falkirk, Sterling.
Nothing, everything was really good. Location is good. Some people may found trains noisy

The staff at Hawes Inn were all very friendly and helpful. Above all, the food in their restaurant was outstanding! It was the best food that we ate anywhere during our entire two-week stay in Scotland, and we traveled throughout the country! The Hawes Inn actually offers a breakfast prepared in their own gourmet kitchen as their breakfast included with your stay!
The Internet connection, provided by O2, kept disconnecting us and was very difficult to deal with. I would recommend that Hawes Inn find a better solution for providing Internet wifi service to guests.

The Hawes Inn has an amazing location for anyone interested in the bridges. The room was what you would expect for an old building - non-standard- and that was part of the charm for us. Our room was very spacious and remarkably quiet considering that trains were still running when we turned in for the night. The breakfast menu wasn’t huge, but my full Scottish breakfast was very filling!
The building doesn’t have a lift, so if you can’t carry your bags up one flight of stairs you will need to ask for help. We carried ours, so don’t know how keen the staff would be to help.

It is lovely and relaxing inside. We had the Superior Family room right on the corner with a beautiful view to the bridges (room 10). Travelled with my Mum so she had the Double bed and I had the double sofa bed. I was a bit dubious about that but I needn't have been because it was really comfortable. The room was massive with great windows and light and the the bathroom had loads of room for toilet bags and toiletries with a lovely shower. We had breakfast and evening meal for both days and the food was absolutely delicious actually..fresh, well presented and tasty. Though I didn't have my dog with me ..it is incredibly dog friendly which I love. Highly recommend the boat tour of the bridges from hawes Pier opposite... We did this with Forth tours and it was brilliant value for money with cafe and toilets on board. Mum isn't very mobile but the staff were amazing on the boat with her. No.lift at Hawes Inn so need to carry luggage upstairs but not steep stairwell.

Cool old historic inn located right below the famous landmark Forth Bridge. Free parking was included, breakfast was included, room was good sized as we rented the handicapped accessible room (always do this). It was a neat liason right on the waterfront.
1. Check in supposed to be only until 10pm, but a lot of hallway noise at 2am as the lady checked in new guests and proceeded to have full volume chat with them right outside our room door for 10 minutes. Very not appreciated. 2. Room a bit dark compared to modern rooms 3. No food service after 7pm at the attached pub was odd

great location and lovely atmosphere of the old cottages kept in use. Room well equipped, clean and fit for purpose
the staff were dour, unsmiling and lacked any empathy with me as a customer. It is their job to welcome me warmly and make me feel special. Instead I got an eyes averted, mechanical tick list acknowledgement of my existence. no smile throughout my stay and a feeling of them feeling sorry for themselves because apparently they were short staffed. smart restaurant and bar serving good food but manager in tee shirt at dinner service. I would still go back for the location, the buildings and the food but I do hope that the staff just cheer up!!

Room was good. Bed was comfy. Parking a bonus Staff were friendly
Bar closed at 9:30 not 10:30 as per website and opening times - it was quiet, so we were forced to retire early. Breakfast service was extremely slow, apologies were offered without any complaint the only member of staff serving stating they were training a new chef (why not hire a trained chef?) 20 mins waiting to have our order taken, another 20 mins waiting for a Luke warm breakfast - food quality was good but service was painfully slow. It might be fine if you drink coffee but when you only drink tea water out of a thermal jug that had been there who know how long and NOT boiling doesn’t make a decent cup of tea - we checked out an the next stop was a cafe for a proper cuppa. We will never stay there again due to the breakfast/tea issue.
