Mostly everything. The room upgrade was amazing with a stunning view of the Bridges. The bed was huge and the room very spacious. Great walk in shower with excellent quality toiletries (Crabtree and Evelyn). Just a beautiful room! Breakfast was buffet style and I was so pleased to see a separate toaster for gluten free bread! We live fairly locally but this will definitely be our go to hotel when we need a change from the norm..

The pillows.. Huge pillows but no support, just too soft. This could be preference and I will know for future to maybe bring my own pillow :)

Clean tidy rooms & spacious, great views of three iconic bridges and the Firth of Forth. The staff were all efficient and friendly. Nice ambience in the restaurant and very good food. There was glazing down one side of the large restaurant though which you had a great view of the illuminated new bridge.

Everything was fine, I have no complaints. There was an error with the room rate on check in but it was resolved immediately. Equally there was a problem with one of our courses served in the restaurant but again this was sorted with the minimum of delay. There will always be the potential for a problem now and again, the key is to swiftly and efficiently put it right and that is just what happened. Top marks to the Hilton staff - thanks.

Staff great, especially Magda at reception and Adam in the restaurant. Whole atmosphere in hotel was friendly and relaxed but also very professional with careful attention to detail. Toiletries luxurious in quality and quantity. Room spotless, spacious and comfortable. Views excellent. Hard to fault.

Top floor room gave fantastic views, but unfortunately, very high winds overnight meant we were disturbed by some creaking and banging noises coming from the roof. This is obviously (1) no-ones fault, (2) completely unavoidable, and (3) probably very rare.

The staff were friendly, pleasant and informative on getting to where I had to go. Breakfast was superb with a great selection. The room was spotless with a super comfortable bed.

The shower head was only over bath and not full height. The tv had no access to stream or cast from my phone. I always feel double coffee and milk is needed but maybe I should bring my own (I don't get to stay in hotels often so always forget). A longer flex on the hairdryer would be great so it reaches the mirror better. Apart from the shower, all trivialities really that did not detract from our stay.

Hotel is modern and room was really good size, front facing have great views over the bridges. Nice dinner menu and was ideal for us for an overnight.

There was no atmosphere in the hotel bar, it is adjoined to the restaurant and your sitting right infront of the kitchen hatch so quite a lot of food smells if you are just in for a drink. Also the bar staff are servicing all of the tables in the restaurant so service quite slow. It was a gorgeous night when we were there & no outdoor seating available either. Although the breakfast in the hotel is a vast choice and set out well, the cooked food was not very warm, it must have been lying under the heat lamps for some time. In particular the eggs and mushrooms were actually cold.

Every staff member I met was excellent. Hannah on the front desk checked whether the room type was suitable (Booking.com had listed it with double beds when they were actually singles) and was able to change the room. Robbie was a ray of sunshine whenever we spoke to him despite the hotel experiencing a power cut and staff having to resort to paper and showing residents to their rooms in person. The breakfast staff were efficient- I appreciated the offer of a tea top up rather than having to try and catch someone’s eye. Parking was plentiful and the walk to the train station or the harbour was pleasant.

We were given complimentary cookies, which I was quite looking forward to. It’s a nice touch however the cookies were chocolate and walnut which I feel is a poor choice given potential nut allergies.

V friendly attentive helpful staff. Perfect location…we walked a few minutes to the bridge and got the bus in to Edinburgh. Bar area is superb…only thing missing is a comfy lounge area. Food was v tasty and reasonable priced. Breakfast was a buffet…plenty of choice and nice quality. The room was lovely…well equipped, modern and comfy big bed. The only thing that would have made it better was if we had a room with a view which we didn’t.

We had a room with a shower over the bath, I wanted to have a bath but the plug didn’t work so couldn’t.

The double room was Superior level but still had only one arm chair. We had a good view of the Forth River and bridges sideways and over a flat roof but we did not wish to pay top rates for full on view. We were overall happy with the room and the bathroom with excellent shower. Dinner in the hotel was not exciting but we did not want that and the food was good. The choice of food at the breakfast buffet was outstanding. The view over the river from our table was superb.

We were served tea from a jug as soon as we arrived for breakfast and then had to leave it cooling on the table while we went in search of the buffet breakfast which is rather hidden away at th end of the large restaurant. It was of course cold on our return and we were never offered a refill.

we checked in 31/3 checked out 2/4. The restaurant manager/waitress?in the restaurant in evening (with ponytail) sorry didn’t get her name, was so welcoming and looked after us above and beyond , which is rare these days. The bar staff were also amazing and also went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. It’s the staff that makes a stay so thank you to the Doubletree for choosing wisely. Please pass on our thanks to staff for everything. One suggestion would maybe to have a daily special on menu and a Sunday Roast ?

The bed was very comfortable, slept very well. The room was spacious and had plugs near the bed. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and polite. Breakfast was better than dinner and we had freshly poached eggs or boiled eggs each morning which were perfect.

The window frames were covered in black mould, which was a bit off putting. The lamp on the desk was dusty and the bathroom light around the mirror wouldn't stay on. The cleaning staff removed the clingfilm I was using for the top of my talcum powder to stop it leaking. The reception staff, didn't even say good morning or engage with us in the mornings when we went for breakfast. They should take lessons from the housekeeping staff. The restaurant staff were slow and our pre dinner drinks arrived after our starter, the prawn and pork doughnut, starter was stodgy and over cooked, inedible really. Nowhere to enjoy a pre or post dinner drink, no proper lounge or bar area.
