Very friendly staff. The food seemed freshly prepared. Staff willing to answer lots of questions. I didn't have a dog with me but it was good to see that dogs were welcome.

Vegan food was negligible. I'm not a vegan but a friend is. The mushroom patty burger was literally a mushroom in a bun. If she wanted something that was not vegan but a vegan option was available, it just meant that things were taken off the meal but not replaced with anything else and yet it was the same price. As she said, there's a steak & chips vegan option - you just get chips but you still pay the same price. Very poor. Embarrassing, in fact.

Beautiful old pub attached, and lovely location. We visited for a family funeral, so wasn't in the room until evening.. little dated but a refurbishment is starting..

The only downside was the security light outside the window. The curtains were good but light came in through the tops so had to block with towels.. the room was very warm but due to the road outside we couldn't have the windows open. They did provide a fan in the room which helped

Have stayed at the Bear's Head several times when visiting family nearby - always a reasonable price. Rooms are warm, clean and comfortable. In the restaurant the food is substantial, typical pub fare. The breakfast is a la cart which means one doesn't have to pay for a full breakfast, just choose what you want. Staff are friendly and the place is well maintained. There is plenty of car parking space.

BUT - why do so many hotel bathrooms hardly ever have anywhere for two people to put their wash bags and toiletries - a decent shelf can't be that difficult to fit.

Rooms are a good size comfortable and clean. We visited on a very busy weekend and the staff coped quiet well. Meals were good and large portions

Property is a little tired but understand later in year they plan a refitting. Also people in the uper floor could be a little noisy. Also people who park there cars outside your bedroom are not considerate when slamming there doors when they have an early start, but that isn't the hotels fault.

Had an excellent night’s sleep in a really comfortable bed. Room well decorated and furnished with everything required. Bar and restaurant area was spacious, and a pleasant and relaxing environment to enjoy some excellent food and drink. Cooked breakfast in particular superb. Staff were friendly, ample free parking available, and a very convenient and rural location close to the M6

Bathroom (though no bath) a little tired but adequate.

Very nice setting, friendly staff, good food bar/restaurant. We gathered with extended family for a meal together in the restaurant the following day, which was excellent, quite remarkable service on a very busy festive occasion. All hardworking staff maintained a calm happy friendly presence throughout, serving great food. we were all most impressed.

Nothing if significance except to add that the en-suites we’re a little old, but kept clean and fresh and well maintained.

Stayed here for 3 weeks when moving back to Blighty, the staff were so hopeful, the food was incredible and the pub was a great reminder of just how homely and welcoming English pubs are! The bed was so comfy and big it is missed, and as for the food-we have been back multiple times to sample the delicious fayre.

The staff are lovely and welcoming, and the room is adequate enough. It could do with some modernising, and the bathroom could have been cleaner.

The room was extremely stuffy and hot, which you couldn't control and was not helped by opening a window. Air con or a fan in each room is needed. The bathroom mirror also had a huge crack in it. I feel that in its current state, the room was overpriced.

Our 10th stay here, so we know what we will get. The pub/bar/restaurant is soo cosy with many locals and some dogs also. We have a dog so just nice and feels like home. Open fires with real wood gives that atmosphere hard to point on. And quite good food to decent prices. The village is quite small, but every british village has at least one pub!

Better pillows and better bed cover could improve sleeping experience quite a bit.

the breakfast was excellent lots of choices and a very reasonable priced. The Inn offered lunches and dinner great food and all reasonable priced. The room was clean and very comfy. All the staff are friendly and helpful with a special mention to Louise a lovely girl. Really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay here again. The Inn is a great place to stay near to some beautiful places of historical interest that are a most go visit

Its not a dislike as the Inn is beautiful but i only like certain Lagers so I found the choice of bottled and draft Lagers limited but understood they are tied to a brewery
