Absolutely fantastic character building located right in the centre of Tewkesbury. You literally step outside the main door to be in the heart of shops, bars, restaurants and with Tewkesbury Abbey just a few minutes walk. From the back door you find yourself walking along the river where boats can be hired. All staff were superb and couldn't have been more helpful - very friendly and always willing to please. So nice to enjoy good hospitality. Room was great, overlooking the main street although very quiet at night. Comfy large bed and lovely walk-in shower offering plenty of hot water - nice touch to have bath robes & slippers provided. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice on offer - do recommend the Full English! Also enjoyed an evening meal which was equally excellent so compliments to the chef - superb. Always a bonus to have car parking on site - for information; bit of a tight squeeze down the side alley to gain access.

Nothing to report which say's it all...............

Hotel and staff were lovely. House keeping not so great, bed not made one day, no water in rooms biscuits not always replenished. Alot of dust on furnishings in rooms and around hotel in general. Breakfast was hit and miss, not very consistent. Have stayed in other hotels in this group which have been far superior. Dinner menu was minimal and quite often items weren't available. Special thank you to all the staff though they were friendly and helpful so 5*s to them. Rooms and hotel were very warm. Bathrooms were beautifully done so no complaints there. There was a strong smell of cigarettes on the top floor which wasn't pleasant. Having said all of that I would probably stay again.

Stayed in room 501 which was a separate building from the hotel. Was lovely, fantastic view of the rivers. Enjoyed watching the canal boats. No noise at all as at the back. Room was clean, bed comfortable, bathroom clean and modern. Quality sleep. Breakfast was good. Plenty of choices. Waited quite a while on 2nd morning as busy. Had evening meal one night, food good, apart from scales left on my fish which I personally don’t like. Overall can recommend a nice place to stay. Good location, hotel on main road, car park to rear down side of hotel on a narrow street. Not sure if there are enough parking spaces for all customers.

Cereals not offered at breakfast. Not a great deal of choice for vegetarian evening meal. Waitress who took our plates away on the evening meal seemed disinterested. Took our plates and asked if we wanted a sweet. Would of been nice of her to smile and ask if everything was okay.

A gorgeous place, with loads of extra details from the radio playing 'Lark Ascending' when we walked in to a fan (we'ed brought our own!) to the rubber duck in the bathroom. Staff were great, super friendly and knowledgable, from reception to the night porter who served us and our friend (who was also staying) at the bar.

The bathroom was very compact, though beautifully done. The eggs for our breakfast got muddled, and the soup I had and scrambled eggs were too salty for my taste. If that's all I can find to moan about, you can see how good it is.

An excellent location in the centre of town and backing onto the River Avon. The hotel is in a charming historic building, full of character, but with comfortable and well-appointed rooms. The staff were unfailingly friendly and welcoming.

Parking in Tewkesbury can be a bit difficult and it is not obvious how to get to the car park for the hotel. For first time visitors, it would be really helpful to provide some guidance, both on how to get to the hotel car park, and also what local alternatives to try if it is full.

Superb bed with luxury bedding. Very large comfortable room. Nice little extras. Restaurant was very good quality.

Very small thing - we had no hooks or towel rail in the shower room so nowhere to leave our wet towels or robes. Sure this is easily rectified. Hope it helps to know. There was a terrace outside our window and we felt that this might be a bit noisy in summer. I think it would have been nice to know that our privacy would be slightly effected. No one could see into the room, but we kept the blind and curtains closed. Hope this helps. Otherwise it was gorgeous.

The hotel is in a great location, with a car park at the rear. We arrived early so had no problem parking. It was good to be able to step out of the hotel to walk around the town and to visit the amazing minster. We were welcomed warmly by the lady at reception even though it had clearly been a busy few hours, as the chef had had to go home ill + they were waiting for a replacement. The room was in an annex overlooking the river at the back. It was well-equipped and the bathroom was excellent. The chocolates were a really nice extra. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed a drink at night in a wood-panelled room next to the bar with lots of history. Breakfast was good and served by friendly staff.

Although mostly very clean there was some dust on the skirting boards, cobwebs in the entrance to the bathroom and receipts belonging to someone else in the drawer by the bed. These were quickly and safely disposed of. We were on the ground floor and there were loud footsteps from the floor above.

The Receptionist ‘Ellie’ was an absolute breath of fresh air, very quickly booked in, also had time to have a little chat. A very bubbly and pleasant receptionist and nothing was to much trouble for her (however don’t mention spiders to her) a very articulate and professional young lady. (She was 5 star). Carol on the breakfast session was also very pleasant and did her absolute best to ensure things went as best as they could given the problems with chiefs and food delivery ( no hash browns). The Coaching Group really need to get things sorted or the hotel will suffer. The standard of the refurbishment was of a good standard, being sympathetic to the age of the building.

The breakfasts and the evening meal was poor. This was due to the two chiefs walking out on our first night (for whatever reason) then the kitchen had to be run by a ‘Bank’ chief from another venue who struggled on every meal for the following 3 days. Waiting excessive amount of time for food to arrive on the table. No hash browns at breakfast although on the full English menu. Also the evening meals two items were not available for whatever reason. The ordinary locals tend to avoid the Tudor House to eat or drink because the costs have increased far to high in comparison to other food and drink outlets. (And over the 4 days we spoke to a variety of local people some who lived in town and some who lived outside of town so a wide range).

The room was huge and felt like some period movie, excellent new bathroom, very warm inside. The hotel exceeded expectations, defintely. There was no one at the reception, but ladies came over from the hotel bar, very friendly in all ways. Breakfast was ok as well, served a la carte.

Despite having booked the hotel as cancellable option, I was charged with the entire amount immediately. Then I had to change the booking which decreased the final price and it took them more than two weeks and complaint to Booking.com to return the money.

Staff were great, really friendly and made a fuss of our dog. the location is ideal for exploring Tewkesbury. The building is beautiful and room was tastefully decorated with decent bathroom facilities.

Due to the warm temperature, the hotel was VERY hot. We were on the 3rd floor and the window only opened at the top so there was little in the way of fresh air. A fan was provided, however it was a very cheap one and not particularly effective. A decent fan would have made all the difference.
