It was a beautiful hotel. The location was spectacular. The Christmas Decor was divine. The room temperature was perfect. The bed was comfortable.

The cost of the room was too expensive for the size of the room. We had no view. It was noisy. The plantation shutters on the windows did not keep out light at night. We were woken up by housekeeping at 8:45 am, told them we were still sleeping. They proceeded to talk loudly amongst themselves outside of our room keeping us awake. The bathroom was small. The hot water ran out in the middle of my bath.

The hotel is situated in an unbelievably beautiful spot. The lobby has been refurbished and it is lovely.

This is an extremely expensive hotel, we chose a room in the Victorian heart of the hotel. The bed was fine, but the bathroom was unbelievable. A small sink, toilet and shower were squeezed together in about a 4 foot square space. The toilet was so close to the sink that extreme care was called for before sitting. I am 5 feet 3 inches tall and a taller or stouter person would not have fit in the space. In my California city this spacing would not have met the building code.

The location is one of the best!

There was a constant booming sound w/in the walls, air pressure?..water pressure? Fortunately, staff brought a fan to muffle the sound.

We love how pet friendly the hotel is- our Pomeranian had a great time. We really appreciated how nice the staff was. The location is great. The rooms are modern and comfortable and have amazing views! The ghost tour was very interesting. The ice cream shop on site is AMAZING!

My only complaints were the view off of our balcony.... it was a direct view of the bird poop all over the roof top of the building across from us. For what we paid for the room- I didn't expect that. I was also surprised that at a resort like this- there were times during the day when there was nobody at the desks in the lobby- I was told they were in a meeting. I was down looking for a bandaid. A really nice man helped me out though who was working by the door. There also wasn't handsoap in the bathroom. So you needed to use the face bar.

It’s such a beautiful hotel in an amazing location if you want to walk outside and right onto the beach! We loved that the floors sloped or dipped in different places - we felt transported back in time. (This might be an issue for someone with mobility issues.) The Christmas decorations were gorgeous. The room was clean, quiet and had lots of cute details. I was also glad it was warm enough since I usually freeze in hotels.

My only comment is that it’s not well posted or explained that parking for hotel guests is charged on the credit card on file. We nearly paid $70 for one night because we had already turned in our key. We had to go back and wait in the check-in line to get a new key. Hang onto you key if you do self-parking!

Room was spacious and clean. Shout out to Angelic who took care of our room. Perfect location , i enjoyed walking along the beach, along the lush grounds of the property. Historic tour of the property was educational about the island and how the hotel came about.

For the price we pay for the room, the tours should be free to in-house guest. $40 for each guest was a bit steep, no discount for hotel guest. If I am visiting the area for a day , i wont mind paying that.

Lobby employees were patient, knowledgeable, and always had a smile. Room was clean and presentable.

Reyrey our server at Sheerwater dining was slow in closing out our tab. He came by twice to let us know. Would be nice to have a microwave available in the room. Self-parking was difficult both floors were full.

The room on Booking said Patio and balcony I did have a balcony but it was not oceanfront to it was facing sideways not head on to the beach. When I checked in I told her that and she was like no Ocean front available you have to pick ocean front not ocean view. a little deceptive?

After I came home they added fees I had paid for on booking I have had no response from them?
