Soder apartments are in the centre of the city, super close to the train and to the principal attractions. The place was very clean and nicely decorated, and had all the necessary for a stay of any lenght. I loved the ease of checking in and access building, elevator and room just by using the codes received by email.

The only small negative detail is the noise, which I am sure is not fully controllable by the management, because is due to the city noise from the outside. But surely those noises have woken me up a couple of times per night, every night. So, probably, some more interventions to soundproof the windows would make these apartment even more comfortable.

There were mixed reviews about this property but we loved it. Traveled with my daughter and grandkids age 13 & 9. Plenty of room for everyone. The "L" stop is 1/2 block away so it was easy to travel anywhere in the city. We used the storage lockers on the 4th floor on our day of arrival since check in was not until 4PM. Beds were comfortable but walls do not come all the way to ceiling so can be noisy with kids and TV. 2 closets and stacking washer/dryer. Dryer came in handy since we got caught in downpour our first day. Sheets and towels were fairly high quality. Kitchen well stocked and starter coffee packs and toiletries were provided. Many restaurants nearby to suit everyone's taste. There is a cigar shop on 2nd floor but no noticeable odor. As noted, all communications are via email and their app. All was very efficient. Security codes for main door, elevator and door and we felt very safe in the area. We stayed in unit 513 and could faintly hear the L but it did not disturb our sleep. If you want concierge, room service and a spa, this is NOT for you. If you want clean functional and roomy, this is your place!

The Sonder is located in the downtown loop near the blue line from O’Hare. Our unit(407) was not facing the tracks and quiet at night. There was a fantastic coffee and bakery shop next door (Goddess and the Bakery) and it was a short walk to major attractions like the Art Institute and Millennium Park. We had a 1 bedroom unit that was laid out well, and clean and functional. The kitchen and shower were roomy and there was adequate storage space. The entry and lobby to the apartment elevator is shared with a second floor cigar shop and not especially welcoming. There were adequate electrical outlets. We did not use heating or cooling during our stay. All and all we enjoyed our stay at this property.

The metal bed frame and firm mattress should be switched out. The couch could use some cushions.

Loved being in the very apartment that the Blues Brothers must have stayed in, complete with the L outside, and just down the road from Buddy Guy's blues club.

Some people may not like being in the apartments at the front of the block (301,302,401,402) for the very reason we loved it. Having the trains pass by 'so often you won't even notice' was great.

The building is so centrally located - an easy walk from the Washington Station on the Blue Line from O’Hare airport, to shopping and to parks. The bed was very comfortable and the room had everything I could need, from tablets for the washing machine and mini bottles of olive oil for cooking or salads. A real little home away from home.

It could be a little noisy from the trains, but you quickly got used to those.

Great apartment around the corner of Millenium Park, with lots of shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Everything was well within walking distance of great food, culture and arts, so perfect for us. The airco is a life saver in the summer. Kitchen is clean, great beds and well-equiped clean and spacious bathroom. Some people complain about the smell of cigars but that is absolutely no issue on the Sonder floor nor in the apartment itself. You will smell it when coming in as well as in the stairway. But nothing when you enter Sonder. Our apartment had no street sounds or noise of the trains running by. Very quiet. Via the Sonder app Customer Service reponds within seconds - best service ever.

Elevator broke down when we needed to leave; very unfortunate with 4 heavy suitcases. Also the front door downstairs was unlocked more than it should have been. Should you stay longer, please note you can't order extra cleaning during your stay. Otherwise absolutely no complaints about the service.

it was stylish and comfortable with good amenities and a really great location.

there weren’t any windows we could open and little natural light because the windows faced a dark alleyway. the bedrooms could also do with a waste paper basket, more storage space in the closet, and hooks behind the doors to hang towels and clothes. we couldn’t control the AC easily either.

The location is great!!!The rooms and all amenities in the room were clean. Excellent!! The staff including call centre staff were very good. Thank you for moving us to a quiter room. I would come back again provided the entrance area cleanliness issue is sorted out.

The entrance area is not appealing at all. It was not clearly marked and once we found it, it was dirty and unappealing for a first time visitor. The lift MUST be cleaned daily as it was filthy and smelly. I would remove the carpet and put tiles or an easy to clean material on the floor. A stronger extractor or aircon could be installed for the smell of the Cigar. Last but not least, you may consider putting double glazed windows in rooms like 403 as the noise from the trains is too loud.

It was downtown near everything: lots and lots of good food, metro/trains, easy access to ubers, etc. The apartment was equipped with everything you needed: flatware, dishes and cups, big refrigerator and stove. Giant bathroom with lovely shower.

The only drawback about the space is the trains that run right out the window. If you are not accustomed to noise, the trains going by nearly every 5 minutes makes sleeping a bit hard. Bring earplugs.
