historical building, well kept and clean. not as elegant as I expected but a beautiful hotel.

no heat in our bathroom. king deluxe I don’t believe there was even a vent so the heat would have to come from the bedroom itself with door open. nice big bathroom otherwise. there was a paper cup laying in the hall on our floor the entirety of our stay. yes i could have picked it up. but the proof shows no cleaning staff or any staff/security was on our floor during our stay. just a little walk through now and then would be nice. the street level front door security didn’t even check for a room key when we came back to the hotel after regular hours.

Location was good. The historic charm was excellent.

The first room we were given was an accessible room. While that by itself is not an issue, the fixtures in the room felt outdated—not new, not historic, just outdated. The accessible room was also unclean. The bathtub has stains, there were dust balls in the corners, and it generally felt kind of dirty. However, they moved us to a new room upon request, which resolved all of these issues. I’m just not sure why they gave us the first room initially. The wait staff in the bar area seemed cranky. The waiter on Saturday evening asked—make that told—us to put our phones down when he first visited the table. A few of us were researching bourbons to order at the bar. However, the front desk staff made up for this with their hospitality.

Beautifully restored hotel with spacious rooms and bathrooms. Located minutes away from multiple venues. We attended concert at Louisville Palace, literally within sight of the hotel. Afterwards, went to gorgeous bar for a wine. Staff was exceptionally accommodating to us and made sure everyone was served. Piano music made for a wonderful setting to enjoy our post-concert beverage. We will be back!

Gorgeous bar was only open for 15 minutes post-concert. Maybe exceptions could be made on nights of performances. Still, a very nice experience!

I enjoyed the nice spacious room and our view. We had dinner there, and it was delicious since we were celebrating my birthday we were treated to a complementary dessert, this was very thoughtful.

We first checked in the AC in our first room, did not work, and in our second room, our TV did not work so we had to have maintenance come up for that. Would be helpful to have a few more wash cloths if you were staying there more than one night. I was able to get that from the cleaning staff.

Everything was clean and tidy. I love the old fashioned taste of luxury and the atmosphere there. The staff are very friendly. I appreciate Alberto, the valet who went over and beyond taking care of my luggage and car. Also Jamal, the waiter in the dining room. Their service was exemplary as well as reception and the rest of the staff there. It was a real pleasure being there. Thank you so much! 👏🏻👏🏻

Really could not find find anything to complain about!!

The room was charming and the furnishings were historic and beautiful while still being comfortable. The lobby and public areas were so elegant!!! Really stunning.

The location was close to the highway and parking was convenient, but as 2 solo women travelers, we didn't feel completely safe walking back from dinner after dark on a less than crowded street. Also as famous as The Hot Brown is, the front desk staff didn't even mention staying to ear dinner at the hotel when asked for recommendations. So we missed an opportunity to sample your signature and famous dish. That was disappointing.

The Brown is a big, beautiful hotel with a rich history. The staff we encountered while there were great! They were friendly and helpful wherever we went in the hotel, and the front desk worked quickly resolve a booking snag when we first got there. We loved walking around the hotel after breakfast, looking at the art (including the hotel itself) and little nooks of old photos and history snippets.

No real complaints here. Really, the only reason I knocked a point off of my review was that for the money it cost I would've thought there'd of been a bigger TV in the room and a mini fridge tucked somewhere to store our hot brown leftovers.

Everything! The Brown is a classic old hotel with a glorious history and she did not disappoint. The comfortable room felt true to the history but with modern updates. Can't say enough about the barroom, dining room and especially the Lobby Bar. Drink selections were extensive, with excellent choices for bourbon flights and a sweeping selection of Kentucky's finest in all price ranges. The Hot Brown is simply not to be missed! Nor is the Derby Pie! Ben, our bartender, was extraordinary, and great fun. All in all, a special stay in an iconic hotel.

Too short a visit!

Beautiful interiors and classic decor. It is so rare now that you get high quality water straight from the tap at hotels, but The Brown had that. Little touches like a signature pleasant scent were appreciated.

There should be better instructions on the website for those arriving by car and not using valet parking. We had to circle around for the parking garage.

Plush hotel, comfy rooms and beds, serviced promptly. Valet parking and bell staff were excellent and knowledgeable, reception staff uninterested and bar staff varied from very good to just passable

Could do without the constant pushing of the hot brown, think at these prices should be a turndown service and bottled water in room.
