Great location in Old Town. My gf and I went for a music festival and it was only a short walk to the riverside. VooDoo Donuts was a block away along with other restaurants, an arcade, and gas station across the street. There is outdoor parking for the night, around $16-$20/night or you can use the hotel valet for quite a bit more. We parked behind the hotel and no issues with break ins in any vehicles parked there. There are homeless in the area, however, we felt safe in the area. They seem to keep to themselves. It is busy with ppl day and night walking around. Great staff, room was spacious, clean and bed was very comfortable. The coffee at the cafe was delicious in the morning. Will definitely check out the rooftop bar next time. Will definitely stay here again.

Property looks just like the pictures. Really Modern with a cool rooftop restaurant (did not visit) and speakeasy (did visit and drinks were decently priced and yummy). Location was everything — close to really popular restaurants and the waterfront. Easy for us to use public transportation (did not use Uber/lyft once). Right across from the gas station so easy for us to get water and snacks. People say room size was small but it was perfect for us (especially since we were only there for the weekend). The open shower concept was indeed annoying but manageable.
Location…. A good and a bad I guess. As other reviewers stated — a large increase of homelessness in Portland which is outside of the hotels control. There were a lot, A LOT of flies outdoors which made their way into the lobby. Our hotel room was on the corner of the street so it was VERY loud until 2-3 AM some nights which made it hard to sleep soundly.

The staff at the Hoxton were seriously out of this world attentive and kind. When we arrived, their computer system was down and they gave us a bottle of prosecco to enjoy while we waited in their really beautiful lobby. It was down less than ten minutes and they were apologetic and upgraded us to a suite as well. We were absolutely blown away as we never would have been able to afford the suite and it really felt like such a small inconvenience. Throughout the entire time, every interaction with a staff member was absolutely delightful. We cannot thank any of them enough for making our anniversary stay so memorable.
It's hard to find anything we didn't like and it feels nitpicky at this point but I would say, something that would have made our stay even better was some sort of Bluetooth speaker in the room to have music (just soft music during our bath, not like party music!) would have been lovely. I was also super allergic to the scented soaps and toiletries, but I'm very used to that when we travel and always bring my own. Oh, another very small thing but would have loved a couple throw blankets to snuggle up on the couch under.

I loved the decore and atmosphere of the hotel. The check-in was easy and seamless and the hosts let us know the different bars in the hotel. I loved the coffee as well and the valet was perfect and convenient. The room was so cute and I loved how there was a crystal on the window. Super thoughtful and amazing experience.
There were a few stains on one of the chairs in the room but other than that it was perfect. The sink in the bathroom also sprayed water pretty easily if you turned it on too high, but non of these factors really influences our happiness of our stay.

The hotel was good, although the air-con was a bit noisy. Location was easy walking to good restaurants (about 15 mins walk) and the convention centre where I was attending a trade show was walkable in about 25 mins.
The area had a lot of homeless people laying around in the streets. Some were in a bad way with drug addiction and it was a bit alarming when you’re not used to it. Unfortunately it spoiled the trip for me. Some of that was quite unsanitary (urine and human faeces)

I had a nice little room that was clean, comfortable, and had a large window. The check in and out process was easy and they kept my bag safe. Location is within easy walking distance of the light rail to the airport, which is really inexpensive.
This hotel is located in a neighborhood that has lots of nudie bars, and is used by many homeless folks, who are leaving their mark on the area. I was solo but never felt unsafe, even late at night, but the streets and sidewalks are well used and lively.

Nice little room with private bath. Donated books in the room and all over the place in the lounge & lobby. Space to sit and read or work in the lounge area when no events going on. Restaurant on the roof. Limited menu and hours but nice space and decent price. Lobby coffee shop in the morning, except Sunday. Very friendly and helpful front desk people.
Coffee pot and refrigerator were not working properly, and apparently staff not available to come and check them.

This hotel is a 10/10 in every way. I’ve stayed at some very high end hotels around the country and this one is a total gem, especially for the reasonable price. It felt like an oasis to retreat to after being outside in the chaotic city streets. Very peaceful vibe inside, great design and architecture, and an awesome group of front desk people. We will absolutely be returning and Jacob was one of the main reasons we will do so. We came in late after a show (one block away at the Roseland Theater) and ended up talking to Jacob at the front desk along with the security guy for over an hour despite dying to get food. Just an overall awesome dude that made us even more sure this was a place we will be booking again. Zephyr also super helpful and friendly. Great to know there is a sick hotel so close to a music venue that we know we will be excited about. We will be back!

Breakfast was very good. As was a fabulous dinner at Tope. Our room was nice and fairly quiet, with an extremely comfortable bed. The staff was friendly and helpful, whether at the front desk, lobby bar or restaurant. I got the impression that everyone really enjoys working there. We have stayed at the Hoxton in downtown LA, which we also really enjoyed.
It seemed from the info that Lovely Rita was a full service restaurant and we were surprised that it is no longer open. The coffee bar was fine but one of our two mornings, it was closed for 20 minutes during prime coffee needing time. Also, (not the hotel's fault) the area doesn't feel safe for walking at night. I hadn't been to Portland for a couple of years and was unprepared for how much downtown has changed. Also, they need some streaming channels on the TV.

The hotel is beautifully designed and staff very very friendly and helpful.
Sadly ( and this isn’t any fault of the hotel) the homelessness situation Downtown is just so upsetting and the hotel is situated in a particularly bad area. It felt quite dangerous to go out with the children particularly at night. It was very disturbing to see how desperate the situation has got and we were encouraged to see that the hotel were running a few things to support homelessness. We really hope that the owners of the Hoxton hotel group try to push the local government / councillors to urge some immediate action to help these poor people. We had heard that Portland and many American cities had a big problem but to see it first hand was very distressing.
