This was one of the nicest hotel stays I had. I arrived very early in the morning (before the reception was manned, many hours before check in time) and still they let in to the lobby where I has access to a nice place to sit, work, have coffee etc. Then the person in charge came in (Nico) and he was super nice. They managed to get me to the room ahead of time (which was a blessing since I was very tired from a long flight, and the room was super nice. The entire stay was really like a home away from home. Location is in a nice neighborhood which for me was close to where I needed to go. I travel often and this is definitely one place I'd be very happy to revisit.

Loved it! The Avery is small and welcoming. Nico and John were so helpful and friendly (but will leave you alone if you prefer that)! The breakfast was good (cereals, croissant, mini bagels, grapes, yoghurt) and there is tea (black and herbal) and coffee available all day every day with real milk too! There was a fridge in my room. The location is IDEAL. Quick walk to Georgetown waterfront and also to Dupont circle so you can experience the best of both worlds. Clean, tidy and I will definitely stay again next time I'm in DC. This was the perfect place to stay as an independent solo traveler. The staff was lovely, the room was comfy, and the complimentary water bottles in the parlor were an absolute life saver during a hot week. I often have trouble sleeping in unfamiliar places, but the Poppy felt like a little home away from home and I think I got more rest than I had in weeks!

The hotel was so cosy ! We felt like at home. The managers were very nice. Breakfast was various. Everyone can find what they like. The backyard was so peaceful and relaxing.

The only major issue was the door handle which was very noisy. You could hear people opening and closing their door very loudly. It can be annoying when you try to sleep in the morning. Except this, everything was perfect !

Staff were very friendly and helpful, bedroom was spacious, comfortable and very beautifully decorated, location is great too.

The room above mine was a bit noisy, it sounded like there were several people there and I could hear them walking around and their conversations. It wasn’t too bad and I was able to fall asleep, but just something for the staff to be aware.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and The Georgetown didn’t disappoint, lots of variety! Fresh fruits, yoghurt, yummy pastries, cereal and more.

Only a very small thing, my wife missed having a fluffy robe and slippers in the room otherwise no real complaints.

Staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Very comfortable and "home-like". Kichen area is well-stocked and great feature for grabbing a coffee/tea or snack anytime day or night. Location is excellent for getting around DC and very safe area. Will definitely come back when I need a room in DC!

Nico was an amazing host! Very friendly staff. The room was great for a solo traveller. Washroom was perfect. Quite spacious and very clean. They recently updated their toiletries to full size pump bottles, which was a bonus. Bed was also very comfy. I'd definitely stay again!

I wish there was a luggage rack/stand in the room. It would've made it easier to store my suitcase and unpack.

If I were being picky then the towels for the bathroom could be bigger, otherwise nice bathroom with good toiletries provided.

One room had a squeaky ceiling such that we could here the movements in the room above. When searching for accommodation I selected ‚parking included‘ and this hotel appeared and still appears in the list. However, there is no parking included. The hotel listing mentions no parking but the booking filter is incorrect.
