Seattle's CitizenM has a unique vibe and quirky rooms with a functional layout, making the most of every centimetre of space with smart, modern touches—think wall-mounted tablets to control lighting, automatic blinds, and even room ambience. While unconventional, the setup feels intuitive and adds a playful twist that makes staying there an experience in itself. Everything was spotless, adding to the overall comfort. If you intend to spend a lot of time in your room then perhaps it may not be an ideal choice, but as I did not it was perfect. The hotel is remarkably quiet, and the bed comfortable. CitizenM is a balanced choice for anyone looking for a clean, convenient, and welcoming place to stay in Seattle, with a unique room experience that sets it apart. The friendly staff were warm and welcoming, going out of their way to suggest local restaurants and bars, all within walking distance. One standout recommendation was 84 Yesler--the imaginative cooking, built with exceptional quality ingredients, was served by attentive and well-informed staff. Some might describe it as pricey, but it is a unique dining experience that merges Pacific Northwest ingredients with diverse culinary influences (e.g., Japan). Each dish presents complex and layered flavours, transforming each bite into a rich experience. Highlights of my meal included the outstanding Mushroom Cestini, composed with tender braised lamb, wild mushrooms, and Manchego. The standout main was Sea Bass marinated in sake kasu, served with cassava root and ponzu sauce. The fish was perfectly cooked and if nothing else did this dish show-cased the chef's ability to balance delicate flavours with bold accents. Each course was a testament to the kitchen’s creativity and expertise and I certainly think this is one restaurant that would deserve a Michelin star if they ever visited Seattle.

Not really...

Staff was friendly and very helpful at all times. Really accommodating. The place is really clean, with modern amenities offering maximum comfort. Also felt really safe there and close to everything. My favorite part was the pad to control the room, which also provided all kinds of activities and recommendations for things to do and places to visit in Seattle. I went to one of the recommended bookstores (loved it) and did one of the recommended experiences (Astra Lumina- it was wonderful!). The little doll on the bed is a great touch. I also appreciated the 24/7 water station (with still and sparkling) and the availability of little last-minute gifts we can buy in the lobby.

Overall a great place to stay. We booked this so we could get a good view over the sea, and my it was fantastic (7th floor). The breakfast is probably worth the $18, it's all tasty fresh and well laid out with a decent choice. The rooms are funky, very well thought out and modern albeit small. oved the mood lighting , it's not my normal thing but it was such fun. Lobby has fab seating areas. Bed clean and very comfortable.

Personally I'd like the check in to be with a person not a screen, but it was okay. The staff were all pleasant and cheerful but they lacked local knowledge and on didnt always seem particularly interested to help.

I am always choosing CitizenM hotel brunches during my holidays in the USA. There are couple reasons and they are below: The breakfast always amazing and tasty. On the other hand, the hotel place is always in great locations and you may only walk to most places and also next to public transportation stops, such as train, bus and metro stations.

What I did not like? Honestly it is hard for me what I disliked. The location and staff was great, the room and its service was amazing. I think it can be better if you guys make the rooms a little bit larger.

Staff were great and very helpful. Rooms were clean and modern. Location was good & safe, walking distance to the pier and Aquarium and a bit longer walk to Pike place market. Breakfast was good and valued for money, although it can do with more variety. Smart / digital set up ie lights, curtains.

Overall I was very happy with my stay and would overall recommend this hotel. The rooms were quite small- as described on booking. The ocean views were slightly overrated: there is an avenue and a large pier between the hotel and the ocean. Overall, good stay, but probably not great value for money.

n/a Did not have breakfast at hotel. But of a more general nature, really liked the modern, quirky, and expansive foyer area that was fun and interesting to spend time in. The technology was impressive, though fortunately coupled with helpful staff who assisted when queried. The room was also high-tech in options - but intuitive enough for us in our 60s to cope without problems. The bed was very comfortable, and the interior design very clever in maximising use of the small floor area. The hotel's location was very convenient for seeing Seattle downtown on foot.

I think the small floor space would have been a hassle after a longer stay but for 2-4 nights I think it was fine. I have to think hard to find something negative - but one surprise I recall is not seeing any sign for location of toilets in the lobby. I needed to ask staff as a result, which I wouldn't have expected - and then of course there are none and you need to go up a floor to locate them. I suggest that discrete signage within the foyer to this effect would assist - or if already there maybe it is "too discrete" and I missed it..

CitizenM is a chain of hotels, so you know what to expect. The rooms are modern, everything is very polished, works well, and is clean. They think of all kinds of little details, from fun shower gels (one for the AM, one for the PM) to an alarm that gradually illuminates the room while playing sounds from a cityscape at slowly increasing volume. There is storage space built in to the bed, control of the room via an iPad, and a few free books for reading before bed. My room had a nice view over the ferry terminal and the Sound, and was reasonable walking distance from trams/central sights (NB: it's very hilly!).

These are capsule rooms, so you should be prepared for them to be small (as per the room description). If you like to spread out, this is a problem, and you have to remain reasonably organised if you're going to spend a longer time here. Check-in and check-out are at kiosks (though there are staff around to help), which is efficient but gives the lobby a different feel.

Despite being small, the room is well equipped so everything fits in without a struggle. Every piece of furniture is new and most of all very clean (I have some allergies but I was never sick in the hotel - meaning it was really clean). I appreciated the control system with the iPad to control the lights and the curtains/blinds. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The breakfast is varied and of good quality. The view on the waterfront is nice and the waterfront itself is a nice area to walk or to go running. The design of the hotel is also cool with cool common areas.

The Pioneer Square area can be a bit sketchy with some weird people... However, it's some hundred meters away from the hotel and it felt a bit weird only at the arrival (I took the Pioneer Square stop of the light rail). During the other days (I stayed one week) I simply avoided that area and everything was fine. The block of the hotel by itself is nice as well as the waterfront area and I never felt unsafe. So the "bad point" is not really about the hotel, it is most of all concerning Pioneer Square station. And also it is a problem shared by several Seattle zones so in conclusion I would definitely recommend this hotel.

-Perfect for solo traveling! -Rooms were super cozy - Everything is controlled by iPad. - AMAZING location, a 0.5 mile walk to pike market place, tons of shops near the hotel - Staff was super nice and accommodating -Clean and modern -Great vibes all around - A really cool built in lock mechanism on the door that provides extra safety - Hangers for clothes - Had all the things i could need, linens, towels, shampoo, soap, conditioner, etc - Pretty safe and quiet

-Fridge was really small, no freezer -No microwave -Water pressure was a little weak for the sink and showers -No parking if you have a car rental -No gym -TV only supports chromecast or its own channels -Great wifi, but unsecured - A lot of construction in the surrounding area during my stay (subject to change) - No room service Everything was pretty clean, but on my last day, i made a discovery about the sheets on accident. I was holding the sheets up toward the sun, and i saw this dirty stains inside of the sheets. I wouldn’t have known if i didn’t hold it up to the sun.

Breakfast, amazing. Techonology in the bedroom. Self Check In, Self Check Out. Great Wifi.

Parking should be closer Rooms could be bigger. The Bed too big for what is needed. The room should have a full closet, with an Ironizer and a table to iron clothes. You have to go to the Iron room, and you have to be lucky to be in floors 3-9. Bathroom didn't have Body Soap Housekeeping should at least step by the room and change towels even though they don't clean rooms everyday. Hotel doesn't give cumplimentary water in room.
