I stayed in the Story Bridge Suite which had an excellent view of the Story Bridge. I liked the old-fashioned vibe of the place and enjoyed the buffet breakfast options.

Not the venue's fault but Google Maps directed me to the side entrance and I missed the check-in driveway, which led me to think they didn't have one, so I drove around the CBD at peak-hour to park in a mall carpark and walk 15min to reach check-in, which was frustrating. I didn't realise when I was booking that there were no parking facilities owned by the hotel, just a deal to park in a nearby garage (almost $50/night). I found a cheaper overnight garage a block or two away and walked my luggage over from there. Maybe I mixed up something with the switches but the bathroom had energy-saving motion-activated lights. Good idea but when I took a bath I ended up in the dark. :P

The Concierge / Staff were particularly good. The room was lovely and clean - the bathroom was much larger than expected which was great as we were dressing for a function. Breakfast was good and the location is really lovely. We do love this Hotel.

Nothing within the Hotel's control but it was very disappointing that the lovely view from our room was obscured by awful construction on the river. It was disappointing that there is no lift access to the carpark - we had to walk outside and then down quite awful stairs to get to the car. In high heels, this didn't feel very safe (especially that there was a large chip out of one of the bottom stairs that is easy to fall on).

This is a beautiful hotel with great views along the Brisbane river. The staff were lovely on check in and out, especially Helito, which made for a positive experience. Regarding location, there are many restaurants, bars and cafes nearby and it’s an easy stroll to the city centre or to the nearby gardens. The breakfast was nice and seemed to cater for all needs.

Just one minor thing, which really pales in comparison to the whole experience: there wasn’t any (complimentary) water in the room as stated on booking and we were very thirsty after walking there. The phone in the room wasn’t working so I had to go down to reception again and wait for a line of people to check in, just to ask for water. Eventually, they arrange for housekeeping to bring water to room. I probably should have just taken the one from the minibar (although at $4.5 a bottle, that’s a fort)

The staff were friendly and professional. The room was warm and the bed comfortable with decent pillows. The shower had good pressure. They supplied tea, coffee and a jug. La Boca Bar food was very good, although very large amounts. I imagine that this area is pleasant in summer.

No make up mirror in the bathroom and not good makeup lighting. No milk supplied for tea and coffee. It was winter and the breakfast area was extremely cold. The coffee and food were luke warm, which I am sure was due to the temperature of the area. This is the same area as the La Boca Bar in the evening and it was also very cold in the evening. The view was not great due to barges on the river.

The location was smack bang in the middle of where we would have hoped it would be. Shopping was only a few blocks away (5min stroll). The rooms were all "VERY" clean. When the wife tells you how clean everything is, then you know you're hit the nail on the head with the accommodation selection. If you're looking for some ' Real Grandeur Charm' The Stamford is the place to spend your time while away from home. Breakfast was all it was meant to be, and overall I was extremely satisfied.

If I really had to pick on something, I would have to say one of the younger staff at reception could have been a little more welcoming upon arrival. But that's really it and hey it could have been someone's 'off' day. I wouldn't let that stop me from visiting again.

My room in the hotel had a gorgeous view of the river and city lights. Unfortunately the pool couldn’t be accessed and the spa was being fixed, the wi fi went out except for one day, no television it was being fixed too. Being charged for breakfast that I didn’t have of $87 I was told couldn’t be refunded until late that night I went downstairs and showed reception that I booked through booking.com and breakfast was included. I decided to eat breakfast on my last morning.

Sorry as above. I liked the whole style of the hotel it was beautiful and my room Very comfortable with a lovely view. What was difficult was the lack of lighting in the room. Harder for older people to see in dim light. Impressed with the concierge and those helping people to their cars. What I didn’t like was just how expensive everything was. Outragingly so that it seemed like there was nothing that didn’t cost a lot. I’m currently at The Stamford in Sydney not as nice as Brisbane. The pool can’t be used here as well. I wouldn’t stay here again but I would go back to the Brisbane hotel in a heartbeat. Hope this all helps.

This is a great location, just a short stroll away from the CBD, yet on the banks of the river and the edge of the botanical gardens. Also close to the Ferry. The room was very clean with a spacious bathroom. With many great choices for food and drinks located on site. I didn't make use of the other facilities, so I can make no comment.

My room was near the elevators and river veiw wasnt very nice, over looking a working pontoon. However, you can't have everything. And on the super fussy side, I found the bed a little too soft.

Location, location, location. We could walk everywhere in the city from Central Station 20mins, to QPAC in Southbank for a show 40mins and round the Brisbane River for exercise 7km in 1.5hour. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Great view of the river from our room. Bed was very comfortable, large bathroom, nice amenities, towels and linens. Pool was heated as was the spa. Nice size gym and great sauna - none of it crowded or to busy yet the hotel was very busy with Riverfire, Whisky event and a wedding.

Not enough tea bags in the room - for a 2 night stay 3 tea bags is not sufficient. Confusion - information letter in our room said to book in for breakfast on the weekend - we rang to book for breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings and were told we didn't have to. A card in the room said to leave it on your pillow and to help save the environment they would not make up the room re change towels, more amenities etc. So we left it on our pillow but they still made up our room. Not really a complaint just confused.

I always love the location at the Stamford & the beautiful view from the rooms. Reception & concierge staff were friendly. We enjoyed the superb breakfast each morning, special shout out go’s to the lovely elder gentleman who was working at the egg station, he was lovely & makes a delicious omelette. The bed was also very comfortable and gorgeous toiletries supplied.

A few suggestions that would have elevated our stay would have been robes to go with the slippers in the rooms. Small packet of biscuits to go with the coffee and tea in the rooms (I know a bit extra but it’s a nice cozy touch haha). Instant coffee to be available at breakfast ? Maybe they did have it but I couldn’t find it. We stayed in room 1605, it was a little dusty, the air conditioner did not get very cool and also the entrance to the shower needs a really good scrub.

Great location within easy walking distance to Queen Street Mall and Eagle Street Pier. The Botanical Gardens were not even a two-minute walk from the hotel. The Foyer looked very regal and Hotel staff were friendly. The room was very clean, and I was lucky enough to get a high floor and a view of Story Bridge which was lovely. The bed had to have been one of the most comfortable and softest beds I have ever had at a hotel. Breakfast was included with the room and had plenty of selections for a buffet. Overall was a very pleasant one-night stay.

Nothing - Only wish I could have stayed longer.
